Love the salt shaker method. This Summer I started making Plantain Infusions with the fresh plant. I have been using it on rashes and in healing salves. I saved seeds and will be planting it in my gardens for an annual harvest. Thank you for inspiring!

i harvested quite a bit of plantain seed at the end of this summer for experimentation..so far all i've done with them is separated the husks from a handful and then ground them up into a rough flour with a mortar and pestle, then make a kind of porridge out of them... it was alright considering i didn't add anything at all to it. i wanted to test it's taste unhindered. i've got enough to make some bannock and maybe some pemmican.. i didn't think about mucilage at all! thanks for sharing that!

Spent the last couple of hours watching your video's this morning. (Early riser.) Can't tell you how pleased I am to have found your channel. Yes, saving what has been lost. Although I knew about plaintain, both broad & narrow leaf, first time I've heard what you presented here. Thank you! Thank you, too, for so much more. From a man & his staff to how to make a backpack shovel. Looking forward to watching more, already posted, and those to be upcoming.

I was just about to eat my plantin burgers, but they vanished !!! Turned
out my husband thought they were dog poos and threw them out :( I
usually go out and graze rarely go to the effort of cooking something. I
could survive if I had to even at 63.
Liked this video, my efforts obviously did not look the same :) Purslane goes very well with this dish.
Is there anyone out there who lives in France that can let me know of a good reference book for europe, especially on leaves? Preferably in french or english. There are no longer the amount of wild edibles growing as there used to be. Also most plants on the videos are from America. I am lucky I am surrounded by pastures, and broad leaf forests.
Right I am going to educate my carnivore husband about plantain :)

billy joe denny I barely go to the doctors anymore, choosing to treat myself then rely on the "medical experts", I can't tell you how many times I have saved my time, money and health all by myself then running up to a doctor's office, waiting around "sick people" and catching what they have on top of my personal issue. My grandfather lived to be 98 years old, ate raw onions, dug up this herb and that, the man was a chain smoker, hard working do as he pleased man, heck he had to be tricked to go to a doctor, the only thing he ever had, ged couldn't treat himself was shingles. I believe that was basically because he never bothered to ask for anyone's help to put something on it, which was at that time on his back in the middle where he could not reach. So yeah I am taking to growing my own herbs and doing things he taught me, because going to most doctors these days is just a "guess" with them. I really don't like being a lady rat either for the new generation of "doctors"!

Great video, I am just inquiring what the quantity of seeds are used and how long to steep, your video shows them on the plate but hard to gauge 1 tsp or TBSP possibly? I have heard the Native Americans used them for digestive issues and they're work miracles, I just can't find how much to use or take. If anyone knows more please let me know!

Maybe we can make plantain see pudding instead of chia pudding. The husks are actually psyllium husk, which ground up into powder is used from constipation or baked into a bread, especially low carb bread to make it stick together. I have large varity of plantain in my garden, so I can gather quite a few seeds in a short time.

Does the seed have the same properties as the leaf? I make my own Plantain salves. It works excellent on mosquito bites, also anything that goes underneath the skin it just put it on rub it in real good within a day or two whatever I need my skin is out.
