I hate it when people bang on the glass at an animal's exhibit. Last time we went to the zoo there was a woman that was screaming at the tiger whenever it came out of the high grass. It was pacing and agitated and her kids were watching her doing it. I looked at my kids and said, "this is how you do not act at the zoo." She gave me a dirty look and I stared her down. She sat down and her kids started doing it. If I could have found a keeper I would have had them removed.
I remember "losing my lunch" or as you say, "code V" on the old, If You Had Wings, ride when I was about 6 years old... got wheeled chaired to a first aid station and got my clothes washed and dried and was able to finish out the day with my family... good memories !!!
Disney World is so fascinating. I pay attention to the small details, so it's always fun to look at the small pieces that keep the parks so perfect. I love the entire "forced perspective" aspect of Magic Kingdom. Did you ever get to go through the tunnels?
Oh my god you mentioned tour groups and flashbacks from a few weeks ago sprung back. They were behind us in the queue for the Mummy. So much chanting 😂
Nice haircut, Sarah! The nightmare of tour groups can't be understated - last time we saw one were on Spaceship Earth - chanting and singing and the couple literally in front of us were making out the whole time.
Oh god. That sounds terrible. Luckily I usually just wait for a while and make sure I am quite a few people behind them if I can not get in front of them!
I have loved your cast member series, mainly because I love cast members! And could not agree with you more about the mistreatment of animals, defacing of property and being rude to staff - it really makes my blood boil!! Seeing your haircut makes me want to cut mine too 😂
My Mom had a mini stroke at Disney near the pirates of the Caribbean ride and when I got to her, she was shoved into the t-shirts inside a store and there were people singing outside. They were not going to let me in until I pushed past and when the ambulance finally got there, the paramedics kept telling us it was just heat stroke when we knew it wasn't. They even made us WAIT for the parade to stop before they would even take her to the hospital. The one time I hated everything about Disney!!
Wow, that sounds awful! My dad actually had a heart attack in EPCOT a few years back and the staff were amazing. It is a shame that isn't consistent across the board. I hope that your mom recovered ok.
They were amazing with my son, but that's about where it ended. I do have to say that they were nice enough to give us replacement tickets to go back to the park since we were only there about an hour.
Yep, sounds like we could definitely share a few tales about miss-behaving guests. Handily as we've only ever been visitors or volunteers we're not averse to telling people off if we think an animal is in danger (or maybe the naughty people themselves) We think the birds you mentioned are either Ibis (long curved beaks) or Egret (short pointy stabby beaks)
Yes they were Ibis birds. If you go again soon there is one in the oasis section of the park which looks like it has a broken leg. It is bend out of place. It was born like that and has just grown up in that part of the park. Guests used to always comment on it and how it looked injured. He was totally fine, so it would be interesting to see if he is still there.
Also I had an accident at a water park...basically the photographer was at the edge of the beach by the wave machine...he got us to stand in the water and waited for a wave to catch us in the photo, but the wave took me off my feet and I scrapped my face and knees and arms on the ground...was covered in blood, but all staff so helpful ...still have that photo and reminds me of it :)
I would love to know what time of year is best to go, things like food & wine, Christmas the dates these events happen...also tips on times to visit certain parks...hotel info...and for newbies what happens from the time you get to the airport, magical express etc...but love the videos x
+That Sounds Fun There's not one video out there that helps with dates and festivals...also when staying in parks where are the nearest malls and supermarkets? Great work x
I was at Disneyland California about a month ago and I didn't see any foreign tour groups, but there was one huge group of kids and teenagers from a local recreation center. They were extremely loud and annoying and I had the GREAT opportunity to get to be in line for the Matterhorn (40 minute wait) right in front of them. It was maybe 10 in this group but small groups of them were all over the park. Some of them were on the ride with us but the ones who weren't were yelling at the ones who were
What were your favorite Disney details that can get overlooked? For example did you hang out in Harambe and just listen to the Burudika band play? This was a favorite moment of mine:) or a favorite spot to just chill in every park, example the hidden little table in Morocco, before you get to the shop. There's so many little hidden places we don't all know about.
I very much enjoyed your presentations. I am an anthropologist by trade and grew up within a short driving distance for Disneyland. I am 62 years old and have watched how many of the values you have described have changed over time. I have been to all the Disney Parks except Hong Kong and Shanghai. A lot of the behaviors you describe certainly seem to differ by region. I would sure like to hear any ideas that you have about how regional differences effect Disney attitudes. Have you been to Paris or Tokyo? Are there any cast members from the other parks that you have talked with about cultural differences? It sounds like the Shanghai Park is experiencing a lot of problematic behavior. In any event, in a world of often uninteresting Disney materials your presentations were insightful and fun.
I agree, the tour groups are just the worst. Also, how stupid/mean can some people be?! Deliberately ignoring you/feeding the animals/not following instructions :( LOVED the series tho! Your rambling is fun :)
In the UK they go on sale at 8am on the website. I am not sure if it is the same worldwide but I expect so. Good luck. I will be trying to get them too.
Do you have like a memory box of things you gathered from the experience. Btw really enjoyed this series, makes me wanna do it hopefully after my uni course 😊
I do have one somewhere. I can not for the life of me find it. I think it is in the attic of my parent's house. So when I get a chance to go and find it. I will try and film a video on what is in it.
I remember one of the trails were closed when I was there and the cast member was so mean to us about it. It genuinely hurt my feelings, just cause I noticed CMs at Animal Kingdom were the best CMs, so that one CM shocked me. Maybe he just wanted to go on lunch LOL:)
When I was six my mum and I lost my dad and sister in typhoon lagoon and we went to a payphpne( because they took out clothes) the lifeguard was chatting up the girls and he didn’t look to happy to help us🤣❤️💙
I probably would have had my other-language-speaking co-worker teach me a few phrases on the spot to show those tour kids that you weren't some dumb english speaker... but I know what you mean about tour groups (or large groups/families in general). They are AWFUL! If I ever find myself in between them or in front of them in line, I usually just spread myself as far as I can out by grabbing on to both handrails if possible or putting my hands on my hips or having my friend/partner/husband/family member stand beside me and we each put a hand on the railings. One time I had two that were wrestling behind me on the Dinosaur line and kept on elbowing me or bumping into me "by accident" (I'm sure...) so I stuck my elbow out and the next time they bumped into me, I made sure to "bump" into them with equal (or greater....) force. Needless to say they stopped after that. I'm also not above telling people off that what they're doing is wrong even if it could get me "in trouble" (ie potential for a fight or shouting match). I could go on about rude line-cutters, too, but I'll stop.
Nimeariel the worst is when those large tour groups will have a few people waiting in line then like 10 more people will come out of nowhere and go in front of you and say that they were holding their place in line. Like no excuse me but you have to go back and wait in line like everyone else
Oh yes. True story: at Knott's Berry Farm (in California), my brother and I were standing in line waiting for a rollercoaster, and we were in this hallway part of the line so there was no way for people to cut across the line, they had to cut along/with the line. We were standing there when all of a sudden this boy (maybe 8 or 9 years old) comes up and is like excuse me- my mom's up there.... and so I was like okay sure, go ahead because he was by himself and didn't want him to get separated. Then not a few minutes later, 2 MORE kids come up, of the same appearance and similar ages, so I could tell they were related, saying excuse me, our mom's up there, I gotta get to her. Okay well maybe they were cut off or something from the first one. Let them go through, then all of a sudden, MORE kids (like 3 or 4) come up, again obviously of the same appearance and similar ages, and this time I was like whoa hold up, no you have to go to the back of the line because cutting is against the rules (it's clearly printed in the map under Park Rules) and you wait in line with everyone else. So I refused to let them go past me and the people behind me even were like yeah go to the end of the line. We get up to the front of the line and there's this woman waiting there with the first and 2nd kids and she ACCOSTS me verbally saying how dare you separate a child from their mother and you cannot do that without the mother's permission and next time ask the mother before making them go to the end of the line because they were at the bathroom and had to get back and yada yada yada... and I was like look, line cutting is against the rules and I won't be part of it. Then I got on the ride and ignored her. When I get off the ride, there she is waiting for the other kids who were told to go back to the end of the line and giving me death glares. But really? If your kids are old enough to go to the bathroom on their own, they are old enough to WAIT AT THE END OF THE LINE by themselves. >_
I saw another video where, the said those tour gruop were bad news. it sucks that people overall think they can just behave how they want. or cut in line.
Vamanos muchachos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless your heart, I could not be a Disney CM.... I would hurt someone. People mistreating animals is a HUGE pet peeve of mine as well... because its always the animal that pays the ultimate price. Great chat. Thank you
Did you ever find / discover any lost children? In 1972, my first trip, i was six years old, i was separated from my dad when we were walking down Main Street USA. It seems like some guy dressed in a conductor type uniform found me / knew I was lost. When mom found me, she was P^%$$#d. Also, did you run into any celebrities?
MrUABama I heard that on the pirates of the Caribbean ride that when Johnny depp is in the park that he will go into the ride and stand in as if he is one of the animatronic characters
The last two times I've visited (in January of 2012 and January 2014) there were multitudes of Brazilian teenagers in these rowdy groups...later found out that they were primarily ultra rich 15 year olds and they were generally psychotically out if control and rude to just about everyone, cast members and tourists alike...I fully understand just what you're saying here!
I disagree that there are cast members around to help people who have fallen or like tipped over their ECV's and had it fall on them. As someone who is legally disabled and uses a scooter when at Disney parks since I can't stand for extended periods or walk a lot I've had several near accidents usually do to other guests tripping over me because they just don't notice because I'm not in their eye line. Children actually notice me more than adults. Well one time this guy was completely oblivious walked in to their side of my ECV sending it over pinning me underneath it, he went over it too and in the process his flailing knocked down my friend who had been standing next to me. The three cast members in the vicinity disappeared immediately. Luckily nobody was badly hurt except for a few bumps and slight bruising. The guy got and ran off and other park guests just stood there and gawked. My friend managed to get up, lift the ECV off me and help me back into it. Luckily it was my personal ECV and much lighter and less bulky than the ones the park rents. Disney is not the best place for the disabled.
Maggie Matthews my grandpa was riding a scooter thing in animal kingdom and people would walk around us understandably since they could walk faster. But one guy cut right in front of my grandpa and then stopped immediately in front of him. My grandpa obviously ran into his ankles and the guy started yelling and complaining. I almost lost it laughing and the guys group was laughing at him so he didn't try to fuss but if he did he was about to get an ear full from me lol. I know people are on vacation but you still need to be considerate and aware of your surroundings
Yeah I got separated from my sister several times by people cutting me off. That's why I had her walk besides me instead of ahead of me. However you'd think if people saw two others sprawled out on the ground , one of them obviously disabled after being knocked down by an inconsiderate guest they'd help or a lest grab a nearby cast membe. I love Disneyland but dread the hassle of being a disabled guest sometimes because I feel as if I'm less than a person sometime's.
I HATE the scooters they have at Disney World. The constant horn honking from some people. The worse thing I saw though was a guy who for some reason his scooter started flying full speed towards a family with little kids in strollers while another guy was trying to stop the scooter by pulling on it. I think the guy bumped the control and didn't realize to stop he had to let go. The whole thing was a nightmare. Thank god it happened in front of us.
Some people just fly around the parks in those scooters. It wouldn't be so bad if they were looking where they were going when there are so many children about!
I'm guilty of feeding wild birds pieces of bread, but when I was at Gatorland there was a bird so used to being fed that he got too close for comfort and the only way too back him off was to give him bread or scare him off and I have a soft heart so I did the first. That being said, and it hurts my heart to say this, you shouldn't feed wild animals no matter how darn cute they are!
The Brazilian tour groups are the worst. My coworker actually told me today that they are required to learn a specific amount of english to go on those tours, and would literally just pretend they didn't speak it to get their way.
Even just being a guest and having to deal with those tour group people is so annoying. They just push and shove and one person will be in line in front of you then like 10 other people will come and they'll say they were holding a spot like um no you can't save a spot for 10 other people. They have to go in the back of the line and wait like everyone else bc I've been waiting in the damn line for 45 and it was almost my turn but now I have to wait more. There are a lot of really happy people at Disney but there are also some of the most annoying people there omg and something I cannot stand is when parents do not discipline or have any control of their children and just let them run around and act a fool. I would've been so pissed if I saw those kids bloody throwing coins at the animals like excuse me but who does that. How would you like if someone was throwing coins at you and you ate them I would've yelled at them and really want to throw coins at their face but wouldn't. Even though those were older kids they were the ones that parents need to put on those child leashes which I find hysterical. Looks like an ordinary money backpack but when that kid try's to run off the mom can just pull him back by that monkeys tail lol I've randomly came across so many different people's channels and videos about being an ex cast member at Disney and all their stories do you happen to have any possibly paranormal stories from working there bc I've seen a few from other people and this is the first time I've seen anything on your channel and I already love it
You did not understand what language the group spoke but your mexican co worker understood them ... do you think it might be spanish they spoke? You have so many hangups and negativity, a service job isn't for you.
Loved this! I was a Disneyland CM nearly 20 years ago. Good to know the guests and CM experiences don't change!
I remember "losing my lunch" or as you say, "code V" on the old, If You Had Wings, ride when I was about 6 years old... got wheeled chaired to a first aid station and got my clothes washed and dried and was able to finish out the day with my family... good memories !!!
Oh my gosh I love your hair! It totally suits you! 😍 thanks for sharing these stories we just adore yours and Ash's channel! xx
Thank you so much!!! I fancied a bit of a change so just went for it!
Love the new doo - looks lovely. Really enjoyed the cast member series
Thank you so much!!!!
I have loved this series thanks so much for doing it. Also love this hairstyle 😄
Awh thank you. Yeah just fancied a bit of a change with the hair!
Disney World is so fascinating. I pay attention to the small details, so it's always fun to look at the small pieces that keep the parks so perfect. I love the entire "forced perspective" aspect of Magic Kingdom. Did you ever get to go through the tunnels?
Yes I went through the tunnels a few times. They are very unglamourous, but I am really glad I got to see them!
loved this series!!
thank you so much x
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely loved this series, thank you! :) x
Really glad you enjoyed watching it. I really enjoyed making it!
amazing series!!!!
No problem! Any questions let me know.
That Sounds Fun thank you!!
Oh my god you mentioned tour groups and flashbacks from a few weeks ago sprung back. They were behind us in the queue for the Mummy. So much chanting 😂
THEY ARE SOOOOOO LOUD!!!
Nice haircut, Sarah! The nightmare of tour groups can't be understated - last time we saw one were on Spaceship Earth - chanting and singing and the couple literally in front of us were making out the whole time.

Haha glad you like the hair!! It makes me really mad as a guest now. I usually say something if I see someone doing something now.
loved hearing what it's like as a person from the UK cus i've been wondering about doing it :D
If you can do it. I would 100% recommend it!
Handily as we've only ever been visitors or volunteers we're not averse to telling people off if we think an animal is in danger (or maybe the naughty people themselves)
We think the birds you mentioned are either Ibis (long curved beaks) or Egret (short pointy stabby beaks)
OMG! that is crazy. I don't know why they make the bottom of wave pools so rough!
It'd be really great to hear how the application process was for you and the interviews! I'm applying for the year program 😊
Good Luck. Let me know if you have any questions!
Your new hair looks so good! Thanks for another great video :)
Thank you!! It is a lot quicker to blow dry now haha!
I love your hair😍
Thank you! Fancied a bit of a change!
I would love to know what time of year is best to go, things like food & wine, Christmas the dates these events happen...also tips on times to visit certain parks...hotel info...and for newbies what happens from the time you get to the airport, magical express etc...but love the videos x
That is a great idea. I think we might make a video one the things that you have mentioned. Like date and time tips.
+That Sounds Fun There's not one video out there that helps with dates and festivals...also when staying in parks where are the nearest malls and supermarkets? Great work x
Deano Fry they decorate so beautifully around Christmas time. I love it

They are just really loud and can be really distracting from the rides sometimes.
One time I saw a guest feeding one of the animals cocoa puffs and I stood there in disbelief some people man!
I'm applying for the Disney College program right now from the UK - wondering if you have any tips for my application? Thank you! :)
Be yourself and be positive. They love someone who is generally really excited about Disney!!
your hair!!!
those brazil tour groups where they sing in line and leave backpacks everywhere are the worst
Oh god! The singing and chanting! Actual worst.
I would. and if they tried to cut in front of me, I'd have none of that. i

yeah, people can treat you pretty bad but what you going to do! Thank you. I am really glad you enjoyed it!!
Sorry this is off topic. What time do the tsum tsums go on sale Tuesday? I'm an excited Canadian waiting for the B&B collection.
In the UK they go on sale at 8am on the website. I am not sure if it is the same worldwide but I expect so. Good luck. I will be trying to get them too.

haha no you should be fine! I hope you have an amazing time!

I saw another video where, the said those tour gruop were bad news. it sucks that people overall think they can just behave how they want. or cut in line.

Your lipstick is gorgeous!!
Thank you so much!
Loving the new hair style...counting down now fly out on 15th August...you still buying zsum zsum's?? X
Thank you! Not too long for you to wait now. I am still collecting them when I can actually get them!
Or they can look at their smart phone cell phones since the maps are on the Disney Apps/

I did. They had special buses set up that would take you to and from work every day. They were free when you lived in one of the complexes.

I love Disneyland but dread the hassle of being a disabled guest sometimes because I feel as if I'm less than a person sometime's.
when i go there i see spilled pop corn i know it's not there fault but the birds eat it they just want food
who would throw coins at an animal? cruel!!
Stupid people that think it's funny! Don't worry, I gave them a good telling off!
Oh what is the account of your friends who are the zoo enthusiasts? I'd love to give them a follow too🤗
Of course! That would be Mark and Gem
Did you go to an american college? If so, what did you study? :) Love your videos :*
I didn't. I went to university in the UK to study film production.
i swear u said there was an incident where someone almost died in first ep
I did. However in light of what has happened recently at Disney, the story no longer seemed appropriate to tell.
ooh okay fair enough! il respect that
I'm guilty of feeding wild birds pieces of bread, but when I was at Gatorland there was a bird so used to being fed that he got too close for comfort and the only way too back him off was to give him bread or scare him off and I have a soft heart so I did the first. That being said, and it hurts my heart to say this, you shouldn't feed wild animals no matter how darn cute they are!
Very nice video!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
YOU’RE REALLY BEAUTIFUL 🙌🏻😊
Thank you so much!
The Brazilian tour groups are the worst. My coworker actually told me today that they are required to learn a specific amount of english to go on those tours, and would literally just pretend they didn't speak it to get their way.
I was just at Disney. The tour groups were awful.
Yeah they can be a bit annoying!
I love you xxxxxxxxx
+Lea Brady 😚😚😚😚
people that taunt, abuse, or feed animals wrong stuff ... there is a special ring in hell for them [when they do it on purpose!]
Hahahaha Brazilians and Mexican story
Looks like an ordinary money backpack but when that kid try's to run off the mom can just pull him back by that monkeys tail lol I've randomly came across so many different people's channels and videos about being an ex cast member at Disney and all their stories do you happen to have any possibly paranormal stories from working there bc I've seen a few from other people and this is the first time I've seen anything on your channel and I already love it
Thank you for watching. I totally agree with you about the line thing. Like just all join as a group and not push past other people.
ECV
u r called employess haha
hate to say it but drama is everywhere ..sucks I know
You did not understand what language the group spoke but your mexican co worker understood them ... do you think it might be spanish they spoke?
You have so many hangups and negativity, a service job isn't for you.
yeah I agree those motorized scooter people are real odemons! no respect.
