I've been served and worked with people that should not be in customer service. They're either rude, miserable, visibly hate their jobs, talk back, roll their eyes etc...
The waitress part bothers me a lot. I am a server and I hold servers with really high expectations. I always tip my servers but if I ever experience an inadequate server, I will request a new one lol. Thats just not ok!
I'm so glad I was with all other IP CMs. We were all there for the same time. No negativity, thankfully. Seems things have changed. I always found a kind of solidarity with other CMs when we went places and got discount. Loved all my bargain basement goodies from cast connections. We called it something else though...I got a limited edition watch in perfect working order.
I love all my cast merchandise! Yeah, I heard some nice things about other cast member roles. I just think the cast in my location were very protective of their roles. I still loved it through and these were just a few things that happened over a long period of time.
In one the DIS Unplugged episodes, the Universal Edition hosted by Craig, I remember him talking about similar stuff. I think he's worked both at Disney and Universal, and he was talking about how unfortunately Disney World seems to breed this weird cutthroat atmosphere among its employees. And he was saying it was a refreshing surprise to find this not to be the case when he started at Universal. I guess Universal encourages the family camaraderie that most people would assume would be present at Disney. (And no, I don't work for either company. I just found these stories to be consistent with what he was saying. Which is kind of sad.)
It is such a shame and I have also heard that Universal is actually a lot more of a positive place to work. When I visit now, I can really see it in their employees that they really enjoy working there!
I work in a Disney restaurant and I have colleagues who act like that when they have a cast member as a guest. The thing is you get 20 % off of your meal but the 18 % gratuity is automatically included. Lots of servers think since they get a tip either way they don't have to give you service anymore. Same with big parties (6 or more). I've had such horrible service once at Beaches and Cream after we revealed we're cast members, that in the end we decided not to use our discount just so the horrible server didn't get any tip. So yeah - I don't understand why you have to be so ride to your fellow cast members, unless they are really hard on you there's no reason to treat them like garbage.
I'm thankful that a majority of the full time and part time cast members I worked with were very accepting and treated us as their own. Even though it was sort of a shitty location, they made it feel worthwhile. Also, I had a friend who worked at MK and he taught me how to navigate through the tunnels so I could come out the front like a "regular guest." It always made me anxious but it also seemed like the other folks down there understood I just went to Property Control and it'd be too much work to go alllllllll the way around again.
I am so sorry you had those bad expiriences, I always hear stories like these and think "How did I get so lucky" as all my coworkers were wounderful especially the full time/ part time CMs. They were always helping us and expressed their sadness when we left.
I still made some great friends on the program so I'm not sad about my experience. I am still so glad I got to do it and don't regret any of the experiences or encounters I had. : )
Wow, I'm so sorry that you got treated like that! Most of us love to see the people from other countries and talk to them about how they like the U.S. and stuff. I hate it when people give the U.S. a bad name by acting like that!
I’m a former ICP cast member from the UK too. Regarding entering the shop from the utilidor, I’ve done exactly the same thing although we weren’t shown to the door, we just went through of our own accord. It never occurred to me that this wouldn’t be allowed because we were never told? Once on stage we just had to hide our lanyards *shrug* so maybe he was actually being nice? This was back in 2008 though, so things might have changed!
I know how it feels to be treated differently when they find out you're a cast member. I've had super positive interactions and really negative ones. My most vivid memory was when a bus driver realized we were CMs, and wouldn't take us to TTC from Wilderness Lodge, because EPCOT was closed (We were only trying to get to the TTC lot!). He ended up slamming the door in our faces and driving away. :/
I worked at the magic kingdom a few years back I was a full time cast member I never had issues with the cps or seasonal cast member I never got why half the people in my area thought they took our hours I always just picked up shifts on the hub if I needed more hours and I treated everyone with kindness and so did the rest of the cast members in my area. I loved working there its to bad I had to quit and move back out of state due to family issues.
Interesting video would never of thought there would be any negativity towards CP CM's. It's quite strange hearing this side of disney. Thanks for sharing!
+That Sounds Fun I've heard a few of these stories with full time cast members not liking CPers. I'd understand it with certain CPers who are to busy messing around but even then why screw with another member of the Disney staff like that? I guess that's just the way a job is.... you will always find that one person who would rather not be anywhere near you at any job.
I'm really enjoying this series! I will never be able to do the crp due to having so many commitments now so I'm living it through you! 😂 thank you!!!! Xxx 💕
I've found in Disneyland Paris they have the same attitude if you show your cm card or not. They're quite dismissive in restaurants whether you're a guests or a cast member ha but I've never experienced rudeness! It's interesting to see the different sides from different parks
That behavior is just so fucked up. I stupidly thought that when I was done with high school I wouldn't have to deal with people aching like snakes and causing drama for absolutely no reason. Like did they have to deal with people treating them badly when they were first starting off and if so they knew how it felt so why would they go turn around and treat someone else like that. Like some of them are literally aching like they are in second grade. Oh oh going to just not hand off the radio then straight up lie so that I can potentially get someone fired like really? This story is actually getting me heated lol I really wish I was there to tell them off and I'm really enjoying these series. I just found your channel and have been binge watching lol def new subbie
I know. It was really uncalled for. The only reason I could really think of why they would have done it was maybe because they wanted my hours as overtime or just didn't like any of the college kids. I didn't let it ruin my program though.
I really enjoy ur vids!!! Arrival at 24 october:D!! By the way, my Question is How can people save money there? So How can people waste their money. Cheapest things, most expensive things regarding food/experiences/parties and blablabla. Another one could be how should I manage my free time? Will I have got time to play like guitar / workout /hanging out and so on? Your opinions and your experiences:) cheers! Love from south italy :)
I love the video :) I was accepted for custodial for Spring advantage; I am kind of nervous of Code V since I am kind of squeamish with vomit, Is it really bad to deal with?
+LPSLottie 러따 the program that I did was the International College Program that let's you work in any of the parks. So if that one is available in your country. That is the one to go for.
Hearing about some of the problems you had with some of my, shall we say Less Evolved countrymen, I almost feel I need to apologize on behalf of the majority of Americans (at least those of us non-Trump supporters)...very glad you didn't let them destroy your spirit, my dear...
+edvaira6891 of course not. I find the majority of American citizens extremely charming and helpful! It's like that with every country. I would hate for you to meet some of the British people that I have encountered over the years!
I just want to apologise for the rudeness you experience from my fellow Americans! We are not all like that I promise!! I consider myself a very patriotic American but that doesn't mean you should be rude to anyone! sorry about that!!

Love this!! Congrats and loving the cm series. I'm 14 but I love watching these already!! xxx
Thank you so much. Glad you are enjoying them!!!

To be fair it didn't happen often but when it did, you don't forget the bad experiences!
Your Disney/CM videos are great I enjoy watching them. They calm me down and excite me for my dcp in January. Thank you for this!
I am glad you found them useful. I bet you are so excited for your program!

To be fair. These experiences were rare but when they happen, they are just memorable! Most of the time everyone was lovely and I had a great time!

It's such a shame. We are still customers at the end of the day.
7:50 I can relate to his sm but within an NHS setting. It happens everywhere unfortunately.
Cool video! I was just thinking about a question until you mentioned mentioned the Q and A, so I think I'll hold off.
haha. Yes keep thinking of that question and I will announce the Q&A in the next episode.

There is no excuse for those full time employees being so rude, and the world cup you had every right to cheer for your country..so silly..

No problem. I will add that to my Q&A question list!
I hope you hit 4K subs really soon
Thank you! Fingers crossed!
The CM talking about "you foreigners" and stuff... I hope you reported him!!
I love the video :) I was accepted for custodial for Spring advantage; I am kind of nervous of Code V since I am kind of squeamish with vomit, Is it really bad to deal with?
It was really not that bad. You just throw sawdust over it that smells like mint and then just sweep it up. No mess at all.
Wow thats a big relief! Thanks :D
did you work at epcot, or did you work in the other parks?
+LPSLottie 러따 I worked in Animal Kingdom.
Iwant to work at animal kingdom, but I can't seem to find a program that allows me to, since I live in Norway:( Cn you help me?
+LPSLottie 러따 the program that I did was the International College Program that let's you work in any of the parks. So if that one is available in your country. That is the one to go for.

i watched this
there seems to be soooo much unecessary drama....
did u tell a manager about that racist guy?
I'm 40, and you're making me consider the DCP. Probably not much call for middle aged, married, and sarcastic, what?
I am always considering it. I'm like 'should I just go back for a year' haha.
Susan Schaefer Pretty sure you need to be a college student for DCP.
I've been wanting to go back, finish my bachelor's, maybe get something higher. :) I still have a chance!
I just want to apologise for the rudeness you experience from my fellow Americans! We are not all like that I promise!! I consider myself a very patriotic American but that doesn't mean you should be rude to anyone! sorry about that!!
