    My son had this IS250, same color, but not AWD. He loved it! It was his daily driver for 2 years. He then got married, bought a house, and traded the Lexus in for a more practical vehicle: a Ford F150. The trade-in value was actually about the same as he paid for it!

      Lexus is the sensible choice. It’s beautiful, quiet, comfortable, reliable.
      Germans are fun but definitely are terrible vehicles to own and most people buy them because they just wanna flash the Badge around.

    I love this car, beautiful black inside and out. Luxury and classy. Fast enough and takes curves like nobodies business :-) Before making my purchase I tested a Mercedes and a BMW and glad I went with the Lexus. Upkeep is reasonable money wise for this sweet ride! Bought it 4 years ago with 35,000 miles on it and have done only the suggested maintenance. So far very reliable! A joy to own.

      Dan H
      Jesus is God. He claims to be God. He gives you the choice to accept or reject what He says about Himself, but either way He is still God, and He is one with the Father and the Spirit. Read the book of John or the epistle of Paul to the Colossians. If you still think Jesus is different than God after reading either of those books, you need to dig a little deeper. And by the way, God isn’t there to make our lives easier, He sent His son to give all believers a new, eternal life. It’s not about Him giving us earthly possessions, it’s about Him giving us His righteousness. Much deeper as well as infinitely more important than things on the earth. Hope any of this comment gets through to you, have a nice day.

      @@User_fr3256 Man, I was coming across the bridge that spans the Ohio river connecting Covington, KY and Cincinnati, Oh and it was barely sprinkling outside and I was on the lower deck headed North, so it's covered by the lanes up top headed south, meaning their was just a very fine mist on the outside lane and I floored it from about 40-45 mph in normal mode and lost traction long enough for it to kick to the left and have the TCS bog and stop it immediately. When I bought mine I thought, well, I won't have to be insanely careful when cornering or in curves like I was in my 14 Mustang GT....I was wrong. Even on dry pavement, depending on pavement and tire you can kick the ass end out fairly easy. Im getting ready to order a Rotrex Centrifugal supercharger for mine, check them out

      So an automatic is fun but a CVT is not? Doesn't make sense to me. Many CVT's allow for manual selection of gear ratios, and the ones I've tested have responded better than planetary autos. Sure a DCT would be better, but if fun is your concern add another pedal. CVTs are an awesome technology.

    • @henrikaleksandernilsen6388
      @henrikaleksandernilsen6388 10 лет назад +14

      I have no idea what a CVT gearbox has to do in a sports car. Yes, they are probably more efficient and lets the engine run at a more efficient rpm, but that has it's place in an economy car like Toyota Prius, not in a sports car like a WRX.

  • @hayksamvelyan
    @hayksamvelyan 10 лет назад +2

    Used to own a 2008 IS250 AWD, and I couldn't agree more on the IS350 upgrade. I would also like to point out that the 6 speed automatic transmission uses gear limiters when in Sport/Manual mode.So in essence, if you select fourth, you're telling the transmission not to go past 4th gear, but it will shift in between one and four, all by its self. That is why it makes you feel like there is a delayed response - it wasn't built to do what you expect in Manual mode.

    I have the 2014 3rd generation is250 base. I have a plan to replace it with the f sport strut and spring, but I'm worried that the ride will be too firm. The car I've driven was suitable for the bmw 330im line and the 2009 2nd generation is250 f sport was too firm. What is the ride like for the f sport?

    Could you do close ups of the gauges during your test drives? That's something I'd like to see.

    I'm debating on what car to get my options are. 2012+ Camaro SS, 2011+ C Class, or a 2014+ Is250 f sport

    consider this inline-6 as a 4 cylinder engine and stop complaining
    if it was marked 4 cylinder on the engine cover no one would complain
    old tsx’s the same power engine - 4 cylinder, come on ppl no one complained (however, I like this 250 more than tsx ((had both though)) ;)
    nice car and yes 350 is a "real" 6 cylinder no doubt, but stop comparing this two!
    at last 2015 250IS -$25K and 2015 350IS -35K, SO ITS NOT 3-4K, but 10-12K difference!

    Do the brake lights on any of the new is250 trims light up when you're just off throttle? I only ask because I saw the taillights blip repeatedly as I was following one on the highway. I see a ton of unnecessary braking on the highway each and everyday, but this was just excessive.

    I'm surprised that the Xfer case housing is on the driver's side vs the more conventional location on the passenger's side.

      I got the 350 AWD F-sport earlier last year. Friend works at Lexus dealer. Although the car is a little small, I like it. Got it in blue with red interior. :)

    Yes! I wanted to know what SAE viscosity it requires in NAS versions! As those sold in Costa Rica have nothing written in the oil cap!

    I own a honda & their car parts and repairs are pretty inexpensive, if i buy the is250 or is350, are the car parts and repair costs fairly equivalent in pricing or is it dramatically more expensive? I don't make big $ income so obviously I need something fairly equivalent in pricing for that kind of stuff, so plz let me know...🤗

    Hi, just wondering, didn’t you fail to mention the 4GR-FSE, you mentioned it’s only direct injection, to my knowledge didnt all FSE come with the superior version of the D-4 engine series?? The d-4s? I thought this one has it too, both port and direct injection

    Great review as always. My buddy has the IS350 and it is a great car, it's fast and it sounds mean. Those heated and cooled front seats are super comfortable too, my next car must have cooled seats after sitting in those. That Lexus mouse pad gets a lot of hate but I think it works fine.

    • @camryt

      Yeah, I've never had any problems with the mouse. A lot of people've complained and they've changed it, now it's a touchpad.

    Is that hump present on the passenger side of the vehicle as well? I'm just wondering if it's due to the conversion from RHD (japanese market) to LHD (american market).
