Bought this watch in Sydney in 1981. Absolutely loved it and still have it somewhere although it’s nonfunctional, and apparently can’t be repaired. Would love to have it going again…
Excellent review! I owned the same watch as yours (Seiko G757 GZC) in the 1980s. My father bought it during his business trip to Japan and gave it to me as a gift. I wore it for a few years until I broke it during Army boot camp training. Yes, I should've been more careful. Anyway, thanks for helping me to remember this memorable timepiece and its related history.
The Seiko era from the late 70's to the late 80's was an exciting time for watches. At the time the new Seiko Quartz models were some of the most advanced and hi-tech watches available. When the G757 came out, I was in my last year at school. Another student had one. At the time, it was one of the best watches you could get, and was considered at least as good, if not better than an Omega or Rolex.
I wish Casio make a module with same functionality. I really love the way they implemented the analog clock to adjust the alarms. and that little clock is very clear to read
Your watch module could be saved by a someone who can open it and dismantle gentle that module and removing very careful and easy that elastomer then clean gentle the LCD contacts area and PCB contacts area properly (gentle with some cotton buds, a very soft brush or a wet cloth (microfiber for lens) with some isopropyl alchool on it or maybe some distiled water can help.
6:17 "On the Sports 100 is digital, on the Silver Wave is basically ~" What are you talking about? They are both PRINT. For both models, in the mode selector area, only the triangle mark is displayed by the watch LCD. Never owned any G757s? "the Sports 100 versions are more for the North American and European market while the Silver Wave is more for the Japanese market" That is correct. The Silver Wave, which has black non-metal bracelet, was sold only in Japan - they are targeted for ocean sports.
Hi, I just found a seiko g575 4020 with the original watchstrap from the movie, in good condition. I was suprised it is a james bond watch. What do you think its worth
Hey Tech Stuff Guy thanks for the video. I am a G757 fan..... I have a working 5000 and a not working 5020. Any ideas where I might get parts for the 5020? I have looked at ebay and nothing much there. Thanks.
Whenever I’m looking for something on eBay that rarely comes up for sale, I add a saved search to my profile so I get an alert as soon as one pops up. With timepieces this old, patience for a donor watch is pretty much all you can do.
I bought this with black rubber strap From a liquidation house called C.O.M.B. for 56.00 in 1983 . Actually was stolen at knife point.. Years ago. With all the hype over the casio From casino royal..modded to the moon.whay cant someone make this watch again wouldn't be hard to do now and could easily charge over 100.00
The Seiko G757 is also worn by Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 5, which makes the G757 even cooler.
Not to be the “um ashktually” guy, but iirc the one he wears in V is the Wired version, which iirc is a subset of Seiko.
@@Corsair_Cowboynot to also be an, “um asktually”, but in the trailer for MGS V, he is indeed wearing a Seiko G757-5000 😅.

Would love to see it! There are a few options you might have.

Great video!
I know the Casio Royale is said to look like the Sports 100 but it really looks like the watch next to dad's watch in the catalogue
Thank you! And yes, I agree with you., that Casio looks closer to the others than the Sports 100.
Ultra Rare Watch
Great vídeo! I was looking for how to set the watch as i just recently bought a G757-5010 SilverWave in near NOS condition.
I just bought a G757 5000, love it.

Cool video. I've got a 401A in pretty good condition, but I loved your family connection.
Thank you!

Last time I checked boobs aren’t “culturally outdated” nor will they ever be.
Amazing video! Can you also do such a video about the Seiko h357 5040? Can't find anything on it on youtube. Thanks in advance!
I think all the Bond Seiko watches were the best.
Maybe one day get one, love the g 757.
Я вважаю Seiko обов'язково має перевидати цей годинник. Він обов'язково буде користуватися попитом.
The Silver Wave is most definitely the JDM version.
Hi I had one of these but it wasnt Y2K compliant back in the day, how do they still work?

Great video, thank you
Does anyone know how to change this watch from 24 hour time to regular AM/PM and vise versa?
I have a casio royale, and yes i agree doesn't look like one of these.
The new timex Q lcd is nearer in looks I personally think to the octopussy watch than the Casio royale with cheese

@@TechStuff1 Thank you.
Got one of these and I still wear it but parts are very, very hard to find.
Yes, parts are very hard to find. I suggest getting a defunct donor watch to use for parts.
I already have and am using some of the parts but very hard to find one thats not 'bleeding'.
Also best bond film name
You should send it to vintage digital watches he’s a RUclipsr as well he can probably restore that watch…
I think the bell is alarm
I think your watch is an extention of your soul.. lose your watch and it is like losing a body part.⌚
Subbed :)
