- In this video, I show you guys what tools I carry in my vehicle for my roadside assistance business.😀😎😎😎
I offer 4 main services those services are tire changes, automobile lockouts, fuel delivery services, and jumpstarts.
In this video, I break down my tools per service starting with fuel delivery, then moving on to auto lock outs then, talking about jump starts, and finally showing you my tools for tire changing.
Excuse me if I talk a little fast, it was hot outside.
Most of the tools I carry can be found at Harbor Freight Tools, which is a local tool and supply store in my area. You can also go online and find everything I have in this video.
I hope you guys find this video useful and if there's anything in here you think that I'm missing or something you think I should add, please let me know, and I'll make sure to do that on my next video.
If you are looking to start your roadside assistance business, you can visit www.geniusroadside.com and get more information.
If you are already in the roadside assistance business and want to learn how to grow your business to new heights, Roadside Genius is the place for you.
Owning a roadside assistance business is a "learn as you go" experience. I declare myself a genius, but also a rookie at what I do.
Forgot to talk about my nitrite gloves, and for some reason I could not think of the name of ALLEN KEYS.
Thank you for watching, and please like & subscribe for more awesome videos like this one.
I've added this list of tools for your reference.
1. Battery Pack - You'll need a good jump box capable of starting 4-6 vehicles on a single charge. There's quite a few brands out here and while i cant vouch for them all, JNC & NOCO are my go to. If you are wanting to jump start semis you will either need 3 NOCO GB 150 or 2 JNC 12/24.

2. Gas Can - Delivering gasoline is easy money. I use a easy funnel that I hand made but this one here is a pretty good rated one. I'm not to picky on brands here just get one that works and holds 2-5 gallons, with a fast funnel. amzn.to/3Js5pMb
3. Led/Flashlight Light - Being lit up at night and being able to see is imperative. Get a powerful light that you can recharge so you don't have to buy batteries.
amzn.to/3n51PQi
4. 3 & 1.5 Ton Floor Jack - Jacks are essential to changing tires and a wide variety of other services. You'll want to get two jacks in case you need to jack up a car that has been dropped. There's a 3 ton and a 1.5 ton I use, get them both.
amzn.to/3JrJrc6 & amzn.to/3JrGUP5
5. Funnel - If you've delivered gas before then you probably know that some vehicles have special funnel attachments that without them you wont be able to put gas in a vehicle. Its a pesky security measure that made me buy this tool. Required for some but not all models.
amzn.to/40hA85b
6. Jumper Cables - Sometimes you'll forget to charge your jump pack or your battery pack just wont have enough juice to get a car going. I suggest to always carry a spare set of jumper cables to get the job done in a emergency situation or just keep your jump packs charged. At least 20 ft long.
amzn.to/3LQtNdh
7. Pull Up Lockout Tool - Some cars have a manual locks that pull up or down to lock or unlock a vehicle. This rod will make those jobs 100% easier and faster to do. I use this beast all the time and its been a great investment.
amzn.to/3yKrIrv
8. Lockout Kit - Every locksmith and their mom knows the standard way to unlock a vehicle there are several different types you can get but these here are good for the price and work well. (bag, wedge, & long rod)
amzn.to/3Js61RZ & amzn.to/3JRZFwF
9. Rubber Mallet - Stuck lug nuts, seized tires, and hammering on sockets is why i carry a rubber mallet. Don't get caught without one.

When doing a lockout you have 2 in or 3 in painter tape to cover the paint or molding so you don’t scratch it
Good job!
Hey, a first aid kit, a headlamp, knee pads, a compact mechanics tool set, a quality spray bottle and AAA (for yourself 😜) are a definite must. Lastly, elaborate some more on how you acquire your customers. ✌🏼✊🏼
Good stuff!
I left a comment about tools ok we have about the same I do have the tire plug and play but that t-bone I'm definitely getting thanks for showing the gear bro
Awesome detailed video! Very entertaining.
Another thing I would add is a piece of 1 1/2inch pipe about 3' long for the really tough lug nuts. Either for use on your 4 way or your breaker bar.
Exellent sir.steve from the uk
Pluging a cable from lighter to a Battery operated junp box does not save memory you need to have a car memory tool that plugs into obd port
Excellent video! Subscribed and liked Thank you!
Thank you.
Thank you for the info. I’ve been on the fence about starting a roadside assistance business as part time and then eventually making it full time. I’m pretty knowledgeable on the 4 topics you discussed. My 2 biggest fears are the steps to making it a legitimate business and capitalizing on the market for potential growth.
@@roadsidegeniusSo with this will it increase my call volume and direct people towards me? If yes, how so?
@@roadsidegenius What about calls? Will big companies like AAA be working along side us and handing down calls that will take longer for them to get to?
@@roadsidegenius What I’m trying to find out is if I work with y’all will I have calls sent directly to my phone daily or is this like an advertisement for your business
Go for it!
Thanks for making this video. I’m a simple guy trying to start something for himself. This is helping me out huge . I’ll do my best to pass it forward 😉😎
How do u start and do what is needed to be legal
Would love to talk about this set a meeting info.roadsidegenius.com/cash-calls
I carry an assortment of screws as well. If its not too far for them to travel and the spare is not good or something you can screw one in the tire and air it us. With the right size it will be a slow leak and you can follow then to the tire store. Good explonation and list of stuff.
Thank you for the advice
their allen wrenchs g, priciate u putting me on game
I carry about 25% or less of what you showed. I work the repo lot and service department . What I carry does it all.
I bet you tow cars with stripped lug nuts?
Where’s those knee pads at and first aid kits that ground is painful also don’t forget the cones for safety great video as are all of them started because of a video i saw a few years back from you
Just seen the srs videos , and thanks for yours too good info 💯 and Sam said boots are for men . And if you wanna work in flip flops more power too you 😂. I think he was talking about you 😂😂. Just kidding bro. But he did say that .
Very helpful video
Glad you think so!
damn my man needs more tools still.
I love JNC the only jump box I use. Testing the battery pretty much sells itself too. Every time I show the customer my tester and that the battery needs to be replaced the 1st question out of their mouths are, do you replace batteries? Why yes I do😉. Great video man. Just one thing, Do you have a Master spline locking lugnut removing kit? That's another huge problem I run across often. People buying used vehicles with splined locking lug nuts for aftermarket rims that didn't come with the spline socket. Or they lose the spline socket themselves, Either way that kit has saved me tremendously.. If you don't have one I highly recommend it.
How do you find your leads?
What ton floor jack would you need for pickup trucks?
Yo llevo 3 años haciendo asistencia en carretera y es bien difícil conseguir clientes
How would a LLC OR WHAT type of insurance would help me out I just got my business name with the city or what would you recommend
Hex keys or allen keys
You ever smell the gas fumes in the car
Great info thx…is it safe to store a gas can in the trunk of my car or no? I don’t have a suv/van
I only carry it when I need it
Wire snips? Uh bolt cutters and Allen wrench set
Was kinda looking to get in on roadside assistance business, would you recommend safety Hazzard triangles, or lug nut keys? I want to make sure I'm prepared for almost anything that may be thrown at me.
I recommend both
Mr.quickpick. I want to start a road service business but for commercial trucks. How much should you charge to go to someone like what should the travel fee be? Or free?

Are the wedges hard plastic or semi soft plastic? They don't damage the paint on cars on ocassion?
@@roadsidegenius oh ok, awesome! Great vids, man 👍
There are some claer plasic type dividers like the ones u see in school note books ...use these between the car and wedges
@@ROBERTAARONHERRERA1 thanks for the tip 👍

@@roadsidegenius Done
A Goodall Startall will jump a tractor trailer from complete dead
Thanks for that!
Have you tried it yourself ?
@@roadsidegenius I sure have! Freightliner Cascadia. It was completely dead. I put a Goodall Startall on it, fired right up. It's around the size of a JNC. It costs around $800 though but I 100% recommend it.
Why carry two jacks, it makes no sense. When you can just carry one 3 ton jack that will lift all vehicles. and save some room in your ride.
Well, I offer Mobile Tire services and sometimes I have to leave a jack on site and sometimes the view customers vehicles on the ground and there’s no room for a 3 ton
Because everything is subject to fail, particularly jacks are the most used tool in roadside assistance, it is HIGHLY ESSENTIAL.
@@roadsidegenius get yourself a larger vehicle than what you have, and use the one three ton jack, and use jack stands instead of leaving your floor jack onsite for someone to possibly steal.
@@juarez97 nah, that’s not the case. But you’re right though everything does fail.
😂 get a torque wrench
Definitely.
