    Oh my gosh this is so much better than brasso I have purchased over 185 vintage bags 45 of them are LVs and I have restored and sold all of them except 50 for my collection LOL.... and I have always used Brasso for the hardware sometimes it is so thickly tarnished it is almost like a barnacle effect!!... and I had to use fine sandpaper before the Brasso so after watching Lady vintage bags RUclips on this magic blue metal polish I purchased it and tried today on my LV Damier Azur Stresa large front lock came up a treat just sparkly new looking even helped with some of the light scratching I had previously used the brasso and this is definitely better.... in the future I may use both using the magic blue as a secondary polish depending on the tarnishing anyway just thought I'd let people know I did a comparison thank you to lady vintage bags

      Hey Julie! Your real life and honest feedback is so appreciated! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the other viewers so we can all gather and share information about rehabbing bags! I honestly did not enjoy my experience with brasso, I got to the point where I just didn't bother anymore because I didn't like the smell and messiness. Special thanks to Aussie YTuber @purseonfleek for introducing me to blue metal polish cream! The brasso did nothing to help my vintage pochette kourad , it even look silvered and I felt sad every time I tried to polish it, even with just a polishing cloth. But the blue metal polish cream gave me such a satisfying result with a bag I had failed to polish time and time again 😊

    Hi Lady Vintage Bag, may I ask you how to clean the blue polish that went between the teeth and the fabric of the zipper? Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  3 месяца назад

      Hello, I usually use a soft toothbrush and water and then wipe off. If you just try to wipe it off with either a wet wipe or a dry paper towel the teeth of the zipper usually causes the wipe/paper towel to start shredding and it causes a mess

    Wow! Is this product only for brass hardware or can you put it on gold plated hardware? I have a Gucci Rajah Bucket Bag with the tiger head. I would like to shine it up some however I'm not sure if it's brass. I think it's metal possibly that has been gold plated.

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello Debbie! This is not only for brass however the way it works is to be abrasive and create micro-scratches to remove the tarnish so for gold plated hardware you might just want to try a jewelry polishing cloth first since that is more gentle. You can still use it on gold plated hardware but i would only use a teeny amount and not rub too much as you dont want to take the gold off

      Hello Asirf! Yes this doesnt prevent further tarnishing however 2-3 days is a bit fast. I wonder if it has anything to do with humidity. Do you live in a humid area? Also it may be that one round wasnt enough if it was heavily tarnished.

    Any idea if this works on bits of metal on a purse that had color on them but the color is chipping off each bit? Does it strip thin paint or whatever material it is they use to color metal bits on bags?

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello! The way this polish cream works is that it creates microscratches to remove tarnish, so it would further remove any paint thats on the hardware thus causing further damage. I dont know if it "thins" the paint per se but it causes abrasive micro scratches. You might have to have it professionally cleaned by a bag spa if its painted and you dont want to further damage the paint

    • @laughinghawk8522
      @laughinghawk8522 4 месяца назад

      @@LadyVintageBags Thank you so much for your response. I'll give it a go and see if it works. I'm trying to strip all of the "paint" or whatever it is since it chips easily and repaint them into another color.

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  4 месяца назад

      @@laughinghawk8522 hello! In Aus we normally use methylated spirits or mineral turpentine or acetone to strip paint however you definitely don't want to get any of that on the leather or canvas so you would have to be super super careful if you were to try any of those

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  Год назад

      Hello, it may possibly work for superficial scratches but no I wouldn't say it works for scratches. I also dont think it's a good idea to over use this product as you don't want to accidentally strip off the colour on the hardware

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  5 месяцев назад

      Hello, yes it can leave micro scratches on the hardware. This works well for very tarnished and hard wearing hardware like vintage LV but if i had more delicate hardware such as 24k gold plated vintage chanel hardware then i would only use a teeny tiny amount

    • @LadyVintageBags
      @LadyVintageBags  5 месяцев назад

      Hello! Yes but you just have to take it slow when cleaning the zippers because you dont want to get the polish all over the fabric of the zipper. Do a test patch on a small inconspicous location first to make sure you are happy with the result before applying it to the entire zipper

      Hi Myra and thanks for watching ! Unfortunately I do not have any suggestions I'm sorry. If you are good with DIY you can buy a S lock from one of the spare parts Facebook group, otherwise if you have the budget for it then get the bag repaired directly with LV. Otherwise you can sell yours and buy a new better condition one.
