I was always the last man standing back in my heavy drinking days in my twenties, but that was because of my social anxiety. I left as the last person so I didn’t have to hug and give handshakes to all the other people when I left. I used alcohol to medicate my anxiety. Tomorrow I’m seeing an actual therapist to try and cope with my anxiety. I’m proud of the father, husband and human being I have become all these years down the line.
Good story today Steven, much appreciated. You are helping many people save their lives, including mine. The community appreciates all your work and wisdom ❤
Chaos those bloody cruises were steve, paralytic by breakfast time, throwing up by lunch time, unconscious for the rest of the trip then feeling shocking for 3 days after...glad im tea total now👍🏻.
It’s why I took more to drinking at home at least could get myself less trouble haven’t drank for few years now apart from a few relapses binges I’d wake up with the confusion anxiety and neck a can first can in morning always hit the best then I’d keep going through the day
Same here! Given what's going on in the world now it's easy to look at the past through rose-tinted spectacles, but thank God that heavy drinking is no longer promoted in the way it was then.
First week we moved to Dover a mate of mine did a perfect swallow dive off the side of the ferry in Dover harbour and just swam to shore. Everyone who was with him was arrested for attempted murder because no one would believe a person would voluntarily jump off. Paras!
Went on a booze cruise around loch Lomond in the early 2000s and we all were absolutely miraculous. Was that drunk i couldn't find the hotel after a party and ended up sleeping in a cupboard full of Henry the hoovers. Was definitely up there with the most steaming I'd ever been.
Hi welcome to the channel…the scrapes that Alcohol gets us in are at best bizarre and at worst …Fatalities Please subscribe and share the channel to help spread the word 👍
I went on one of the those Thames Riverboat disco's in that era, the local cricket club do, my God have never been so terrified, the skipper was pissed, we got turned away at the Thames barrier, the boat was flooded with blocked toilets and beer everywhere, utter carnage, thougt we were going to bloody sink!🤣🤣
When I was younger during the 80s and 90s it was the party atmosphere. I was late teens until early 30s , Everyone would buy a round. Then we’d go to a nightclub for “a late drink “, but it was never just the one. As I’ve said in a previous post on Steven’s channel, some of the places we worked too, had on site bars or loads of pubs nearby. So we drank during the day too. Also we were allowed to bring in alcohol for office parties, Christmas, Birthdays, promotions etc. like Steven, I was fit, regular exercise and slim so on it went
Pubs were laid back then. These days, they would just refuse to serve you and if you get lippy, they ban you no matter how much you spend in their pub. I would never want to do that kind of thing. I like to be in control. Tracey x
I'm glad to see you smiling. I've had experiences like that, too. As I look back on it, I am amused. One time I had a friend who had a Cadillac hearse from the 1950's. I was in college and we decided to make a trip. The driver's compartment was separated from where they put the coffin by a window, like limousines. My buddies and I got totally wasted. It good fun seeing the lit up crosses where dead people in coffins were.
Booze cruise. Disgusting. What has society, civilization , etc devolved into. I grew up just working all my life, barely any vacation, or "nonsense" like this. I hope our kids don't do this Watching Jamie Komoroski drunk driving case ....sad
Hi Steven I would just like to say your doing an amazing job getting the word out to the world how alcohol is the worst drug in the world and I'm the guy who mentioned about helping you set up a website or a discord server to have a platform for everybody can chat and help and support each other , any my friend I hope you have done your emas shopping as that is so stressful lol 😂 take care brother and all the best .alan
Hahaha i used to be based in Dover and in the winter the ferries would put on 'dance to France' booze cruises, basically getting the ferry in a storm and getting shit faced. 🤢🤮
Starting at 6am on a lads trip always ends up messy had some amazing laughs stag doos bros trips but you pay for it can get into trouble if not careful
All fun and games until you wake up the next day alone and confused, crippled with nausea, fatigue and a skull-splitting headache. Worse still is the intense anxiety, paranoia and racing thoughts that only get worse as the day goes on. Wondering how you will get through the next hour, let alone the whole day. So easy at that point to go to the off licence or pub and start the whole wretched cycle again...
I had to learn to be a big drinker. If you could drink for 30 plus hours straight at 20 years of age then you had no chance mate. You were destined to end up where you did. Almost genetically not your fault. Glad to see you doing better now 👍

You should be very proud Sir .❤️
Iv done the same type of things. It amazes me how something that can be so devastating is actively promoted and encouraged.
It’s madness 👍
@stevencurry215 it sure is. I lost yrs into a haze of alcohol.

90s London working drinking culture was responsible for embedding daily drinking routines into my life. I'm glad things have changed in that regard.

The Penny Black in Edinburgh opened at 7am full of night workers. Lost many a day starting in there. (30 years ago)
It was a crazy world in those days 👍

If only we were as easily led away from it as we were into it..
Drinking is generally such a waste of time

British drinking culture is fetishised among Premier League fans here in Denmark. I really don’t get it.
Nor me…it’s crazy
