  • What a plethora of confusion surrounds this subject. In the name of the father son & Holy Ghost or in the name of Jesus? Should we sprinkle or full immersion? Infants or just adults? Inside a building or at the local pond or stream? Immediately after Salvation or later at our convenience? One thing I know for certain, God is not the author of confusion.

I believe that John the Baptist Baptized Jesus Christ by sprinkling of water for cleansing because of the covenant law, Jesus Christ didn't have to repent. Its was still Old Testament grounds . But now, we are baptized by the Holy Spirit the minute we believe the death, buried and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The Gospel of Grace......
    Great job Pastor Rodney.

I have been a believer and I was saved in 1984 when I was 10 and I truly did understand that I was guilty by God's law's and standard and I mean I had so many questions and I was blown around from doctrine to doctrine but I still had the foundation and understanding that I was saved only by what Jesus had done and said he finished, and I knew I had eternal life only through Jesus but I was still unsure and always doubting myself because I wasn't seeing the real truth and the rightly DIVIDING the word and I know I have left messages on other sermons you have in here but I really don't have anyone or any church around me that even knows or teaches anything about RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word and I mean I have heard them read and preach on that scripture and I see now as awful as I am for saying this I mean this is serious stuff you know I understand that eternity and souls are very important and the souls understanding the truth of God's word and what is their truth to take away from it. Anyway I am New to how to rightly divide really and any help or information you can give me I have an email it's, mpmarkpeyton@gmail.com. And I also can be got on Facebook and I really do thank God for your truth and teaching the word as it is to truly be handled. God says it's a sword and a sword in the wrong hands can kill you but in the right hands it can save your life.

I agree with you, slang language has no place in the pulpit. Nor jesting. We need to hear pure words.

Continuing on to Acts 11:20, "And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they had come to Antioch (the one in Syria), spake unto the Grecians (Hellenistic Jews), preaching the Lord Jesus." Here we see that word "Grecians" again that we saw back in Acts 6:1. Just as we saw before the Greek word used here is "Hellenistes" which refers to Hellenistic Jews. These were not Gentiles. After all, the previous verse just said that they went to Antioch preaching only to Jews. These Hellenistic Jews were probably born outside of the land of Israel, spoke the Greek language, and had taken on parts of the Greek culture. Many modern translations translate this word as "Greeks". Some say that there are manuscripts which use the word Hellenes (meaning "Greeks") here, but all three of the Greek texts that I checked used the word "Hellenistes" (Hellenistic Jews) in Acts 11:20. This makes by far the most since not only here in chapter 11, but especially in light of the events of Acts 14 and 15, which we will discuss in the following pages. So please keep this in mind as we continue.
When the assembly at Jerusalem heard about it, there was no mention of any astonishment as there was back in Acts 10:45 with the Gentiles. "Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch" (Acts 11:22). Now Barnabas was not sent to snap anyone back in line or to tell the Jews not to associated with Gentiles or to make sure Gentiles were keeping the law. Acts 11:23 says Barnabas, "Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord." I mention these points simply to show that there is nothing in these verses that would indicate that there were Gentiles in the Antioch church at this time.
Later, Barnabas and Paul assembled with the church at Antioch for a year "... and the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch" (Acts 11:26).
The death of Herod Agrippa I in Acts 12:23 marks the date at 44 AD. We know Herod died while Paul and Barnabas were at Jerusalem, since we see them arrive in Acts 11:30 and return to Antioch in Acts 12:25. Some 12 years have passed since Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and the ministry to the Gentiles has yet to even begin.

First off, I love the KJV. It is truly my favorite source of the Word. I hardly stray from it unless it entails scripture that predates Greek. I am alluding to the Aramaic Peshitta scripture. Being Berean means more than just assuming you are taking in the Very Word of God. I have found clarity there, and Brother, I feel you should read II Timothy reference.

James Barker I'm not concerned about the Aramaic Peshitta. I hold that the King James Bible is God's final authority, Divinely Preserved and without error.

Why does Paul teach the kingdom of God to all for 2yrs Acts 28:30-31. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. (‭Acts‬ ‭28‬:‭30-31‬ KJV)

It was not till Jesus taught Paul the mysteries. Remember in galatians we see Paul was in Arabia 3 years being taught the mysteries by Jesus. I believe that Paul was teaching only what he knew till Jesus taught him later in Arabia.

I think water baptism is only for Judeans in the Body of Christ. Paul baptized identifiable Judeans such as Crispus in Corinth long after the Body of Christ/Dispensation of Grace was instituted, but to my knowledge not a single non proselyte God fearing Gentile. 1 Peter chapter 2 calls Messianic Judeans an elect race, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation. Judean Christians are the remnant of Israel today and must practice Abrahamic circumcision. They hold dual membership in the nation of israel and as Priests in the Body of Messiah. They have NOT lost their physical distinctiveness as Judeans descended from Jacob as the unlearned assert by mis interpreting verses such as Galatians 3.28, Romans 2:29, and Galatians 6.16.
