  • This is the fifth and final track for the Chords of Orion "Ambient Guitar EP in 6 Weeks" challenge - for more info, see • You WILL Create an Amb...
This piece consists of two guitar tracks: a drone track and a lead track. The track begins with a simple drone that descends into chaos. Just before I hit record, I discovered that I could get a cool swooshing effect by using the EBow and the Strymon pedals - it was perfect for the sound I was looking for. And this time I let my loops spiral out of control! Not sure if this counts as ambient guitar, but it was mesmerizing in the room...
The constraints/suggestions for the Chords of Orion challenge include: using a maximum of two audio tracks, using the same gear for the entire EP (my gear list is below), and (optionally) basing the tracks on public domain material (e.g., traditional/folk songs). This was a really fun project, and I learned a ton of things along the way. Many thanks to Chords of Orion (Bill) for the idea!
