This is a really helpful video man! Props to you for going the extra mile with the mobile cam footage. Just replaced my 2008 Hyundai Tucson Pulley and Belt and this was exactly how it went. Appreciate it!
Thanks for showing a closeup of how the tensioner works!!! I will be changing out the alternator on my 2006 Tucson 2.7. I've been flummoxed because every time someone says you need a 3/8 socket wrench in a video, I've not made the connection that you would actually use the socket wrench without a socket on it. I've been looking for some bolt and there isn't one!
One question ive heard some rattling noise , coming from my idle pulley , but it wasnt loud so i thought it was just something ,and i drove it and when i was driving the car start , idling so rought , that i thought its because he run out of water or some , that its got hot , but it does had water in it , and i stopped, the pulley was sounding louder on that moment , and then turn the car off , when i try to start it again , it start then turn off on itself , pls what it can be based of that? Just to know ? And btw my car is hyundai santa 2001
It could be very serious, IE timing belt issue. It could be minor, IE sensor. Get it to someone you trust to help with the diagnosis in person. I'm just a backyard fix the obvious type of guy. Good luck with the problem.
Thanks for the great video as it is one of the only ones out there for this type of design. One question though, is there a way to get the belt off and back on without removing the tensioner? As it looks like the belt is blocked from coming out due to the design.
I just changed the drive belt of our hyundai tucson. I tried pulling the tensioner all the way down and it is still hard to get the drive belt out. I needed to remove the tensioner just like what's done in the video. It is annoying but not that much of a big deal. I was tempted to put a thread locker, but i instead used a lock washer. It's pretty challenging to torque it down there.
I bought off of Amazon, as they have a way to match part to cars there. Otherwise look to your local auto parts store like CarQuest, Rock Auto, or the like. I cannot guarantee these will fit that.

Your pulleys it’s near the timing panel? Mine it’s to close for the wall panel

If you can't tell where thr noise is coming from, you should have a professional help you at lease diagnose the issue.
Thanks for the video - looks the same for my 2007 Kia Sportage.
Glad it helped

If you pull the tensioner spring all the way you should be able to change the belt.

Would these be the same parts for 2011 Hyundai Tucson GLS?
If not, can you provide the name & part numbers & where best to buy?

OK. Next time we'll buy a different brand of car to fix.
