Just litterly fixed my grandma's belt, somehow it was on the other side behind the belt tensioner and you tutorial helped me out a lot and i wanted to say thank you for your clear representation good job on the video
Freaking awesome seeing this new content where you get to actually use those beautiful tools of yours! Keep it coming when you can bro. I know it's hard to work with one hand and keep the camera positioned...
No problem! Damn, that's not good...I know that some use tripods, but that won't work for such tight spaces. I don't know, but still enjoyed seeing this new style video for the channel!
I'm not a qualified mechanic yet, but why didn't you twist the tensioner up to get the socket into the bottom bolt and then take the top bolt out? If there is a reason why you can't fair enough. I just like finding solutions to problems. Love the channel, keep it up.
Like seeing videos like this from you. Know it's hard to make them and trying to turn hours. Also liked seeing you use a 1/4 ratchet to tighten a 1/4 bolt. Most people would just over torque it with a 3/8 and called it a day.
Hey bro...I have an '06 Sonata. Tryin to change the alternator but there seems to be a locking mechanism on the belt tensioner. Any idea how to get the mf unlocked? Thanks!
We have had 6 sitting around waiting on long blocks, 5 showed up last week and I just ordered another one. I'm the lucky tech that gets to do all of them, got the time down to just over 5 hours now. Kia is doing a test with a mic you stick in the dipstick tube using the KDS (Kia's diagnostic tablet), it's kind of a joke. We have had some clearly knocking that have passed the test. Then if they come in seized we have to make a video starting at the vin then showing the starter working then someone physically trying to turn the engine over by hand.
This looks like a '15-17. Nothing to worry about the timing, right? They upgraded to a chain. Just alernator and a/c compressor. Even the water pump has a separate small belt by itself.
Ok, so I'm having to deal with this s**t now as well. 2013 with a 2.4.. In your opinion do you think mine should be covered under warranty? 100k warranty and I am at 90k now. Thanks man
hey nice aproch Joel👍🍻🔧 really like the video. if you get a chance check out 1/4 hex bit ratchet from EZ Red maybe that can fit? Either way great job bro👍 but yeah these moderns give you no clearance. 0 degrees 17 also on tool wish list.
Great video Joel I had a tight job like that today on a narrow orchard tractor I had to change a pro servo between the cab floor and transmission it was tight lol same thing hold your 👅the right way a swear enough that will get her done lol 👍🏻🔥💪🏿
The Snap-On Tool Review hahaha I know that feeling, last week i had to reupholster a 2nd row seat on a Highlander under warranty that only paid 1.5, that sucked ass lol
great video thank you so much ... kinda funny how you sounded tough the whole time of the video till the end ...when youre BYE all pretty and shit hahahahah
Thll373ghdb4382 😂😂 just call it a ratchet. I don't store enough memory for all that shit. P.s now I'm thinking about just running it until the pulley or belt explodes.
Dude I appreciate the post but the language is really not necessary; no sub no like!! I don't see how Toyota allows you work for them with this kind video!

As a motorcycle technician, I find it really interesting to see how you do things on cars. Great video, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks man!
Hyundai must have hired some Audi/VW engineers to design that. Nice video.
About to do this same job in my parking lot... Thanks for all of the warnings and heads ups...
The tensioner replacement video was on spot, now alls I need is how to change water pump belt.
you just saved me like $200 thanks bud
That's why I work on big rigs. They haven't got that tight yet but soon tho
I like your video and your commentary and choice of swearing is identical to mine. Lol. Tks again
agree lol!
What sound was it making again? Like a chirping when the belt begins to rotate?
Thank you for showing this warts and all. Now I have a better idea of what to do for my own repair.
Welcome to Hyundai. Lol we have that to. But I agree the hybrid is the worst
That's where you need those Mountain ratcheting extra long, 0 offset, flex head, double box end wrenches!
LOL
Keep doing these man. I love the tools and stuff but watching you work on stuff is awesome too!
+Ecos Oner thanks bro!
Freaking awesome seeing this new content where you get to actually use those beautiful tools of yours! Keep it coming when you can bro. I know it's hard to work with one hand and keep the camera positioned...
+Ben Horton thanks bro!! It is hard. Had to cut out almost 4 minutes of video cause it's all fucked hahaha
No problem! Damn, that's not good...I know that some use tripods, but that won't work for such tight spaces. I don't know, but still enjoyed seeing this new style video for the channel!

Thats an easy job!! Whats the problem? Nice tools by the way
I love that ratchet is my #1 go to 1/4" even if I don't need all that leverage or reach.
Yup. Me too!
Do you have a video of swapping out the belts on this? I need to change my wife’s water belt and accessory belt.
How do you do the water pump belt is what I'd like to know.

HAHA yeah bro! and thanks!
You're a mechanic......... you're supposed to fix things! Says the engineer, laughing from his desk. Well in theory, this should work.
+devomx302 bahahaha yep.
hahaha. With the lab coat.
Sonata very good design.
El Cheapo I see what you did there
Hey bro...I have an '06 Sonata. Tryin to change the alternator but there seems to be a locking mechanism on the belt tensioner. Any idea how to get the mf unlocked? Thanks!
Does the 2.4L engine recall affect you guys in Canada?
+Dan Beaird yes. We don't see many of them yet though.
We have had 6 sitting around waiting on long blocks, 5 showed up last week and I just ordered another one. I'm the lucky tech that gets to do all of them, got the time down to just over 5 hours now.

Definitely look forward to seeing more content like this, awesome video bro!
+Warren Higaki thanks man. I'm gonna try to do more of this style of video for sure.
The Snap-On Tool Review Awesome bro, any chance of another live chat? Be cool just to hang out and chat again!
Please tell me the belt part number. Every place I call sends me one that is too big! Really need that part number.
This looks like a '15-17. Nothing to worry about the timing, right? They upgraded to a chain. Just alernator and a/c compressor. Even the water pump has a separate small belt by itself.
I am just swapping the roller. I think I am going to punch a hole it the wheel well and use ratchet with extender.
Ok, so I'm having to deal with this s**t now as well. 2013 with a 2.4.. In your opinion do you think mine should be covered under warranty? 100k warranty and I am at 90k now. Thanks man
Is that the 2.4 and how many pullys on it
thanks. damn sonata engineers! i really appreciate knowing if my belt breaks i am screwed if im out in the middle of nowhere. peace out!
How many belts does the sonata sport have
bro, is that the extra long 1/4 ratchet. I have been eyeballing that one for a while now. how you like it?
Is there a way to bypass or why does my car doesn't have an idle pulley 😂
"how does hyundai do it?!?!?" haha radio commercial quote from my town
BAHAHAHA!!
Kia Optimas are the same. I'm so used to just losing that damn pulley 1st. No other way to do it
+RealTechReview yeah first one for me. I'll know for next time. Haha
Why dont you have someone else apply tensioner to the opposite direction then loosen it up ? Lmao
hey nice aproch Joel👍🍻🔧 really like the video. if you get a chance check out 1/4 hex bit ratchet from EZ Red maybe that can fit? Either way great job bro👍 but yeah these moderns give you no clearance. 0 degrees 17 also on tool wish list.

CP or Warranty?
+Alejandro Morales warranty. I don't even know how much it pays but I'm sure it's bullshit. Hahaha
The Snap-On Tool Review hahaha I know that feeling, last week i had to reupholster a 2nd row seat on a Highlander under warranty that only paid 1.5, that sucked ass lol
wouldn't a Swivel Socket come in handy?

Wtf that shit breaking already??
What does it pay .6 lol
No clue, probably something shitty like that. I always wanted to get a engineer to come and try to do the work we do for the times they set for shit.
Thll373ghdb4382 😂😂 just call it a ratchet. I don't store enough memory for all that shit. P.s now I'm thinking about just running it until the pulley or belt explodes.
Oh yeah wait for the hybrids.. they piss me off.. with the generator replacement.. ohhhhh yeah.. tensioner on then 2 thumbs down

No not stupid LOL but definitely not that unprofessional especially on public media!🙏🏻
