    I had one Dahon Speed convert with a front gear hub kit with the downtube type battery like one in the video Everything works great, however, the battery attachment screw to the bottle water cage is a little weak and it gotten loose much faster than expected. I finally put a third attachment screw with a help of a rivnut. I was able to do better off road with it thanks for the two wheel drive!

      Hey Kent! Thanks for sharing your story here! I really liked this little rocket and had a blast testing it out! Other Mitch is a wizard when it comes to modifying things. We’ve got another project in the works that we’ve been trying to capitalize on. We might finally be in a spot to execute on it. I’ll keep you guys updated! Thanks for stopping by Kent!

    So i bought two dahon ios 24 inch folding bikes to convert for our motorhome. I was thinking of a 48 volt 750W midrive set up with hydraulic brakes. Not sure what kit that would be ? Now listening to this i'm not sure whether i should consider a hub motor? where do i begin?

      First off Colin, sorry for the late reply here! I think the main thing is figuring out what you're comfortable doing, and if you have the knowledge/want to learn how to set up the middrive stuff. From what I understand the middrive is a bit trickier than a hub. So that'd be the first question I'd ask. If it were me, I'd probably go rear hub, but that'd based on my own experience and knowledge base.

    I have 2 middrive ebikes one cargo and one for driving in the forest. The rest of the Familys ebikes are all hub drive. The hub drive ebikes are easier to maintain - and if you are using your bike on good roads i would recommend a hub drive. Both drive types are fairly easy to install.

      Hey there! Thanks for your feedback on the mid vs. hub question! What are the two mid drive bikes that you have? Did you mod those? Or are they from a company?

      @@Ennovation I have a mix. 2 bikes prebuild and the rest i put together with bafang parts from ebay. On the 250 W bikes with hub drive i miss torque uphill - but still a lot better than no e drive :)

    Hi, which version of mid drive motor they are using on the folding bike? 500w or 750w?

    • @Ennovation

      Hey Fadil! I believe this one is the 750Watt version.

    Actually a mid drive motor is suppose to be much easier to install, giving better performance. Less clutter also as you don't need to include a controller unit. Avoid doing it on a folding frame if you can for obvious reason. good job with the vid . ( Subscribed and liked :-)

      Hey there! Thanks for the perspective on the mid drive! I think you’re right about it being simpler in some respects! I think my idea is saying one is more “complicated” than the other is coming from a place of thinking about who would be doing the install. I think if you’re familiar with both, and you understand what type of frame is needed, widths, attachments points, and all that jazz, then a mid drive probably makes sense. If someone was just learning about EBIKES, I think the mechanisms of the big drive make more sense. And yes, there is a trade off with torque and efficiency, but my bet is that most people just getting into it would probably not notice the difference if they don’t have anything to compare it to. I guess if I’m boiling down my opinion further I would say that I think a hub install would have less things to screw up for someone doing this for the first time. I could be wrong, of course, but even in my own learning about types of motors, hubs always made sense and mid drives were a slightly different concept. So that’s my own personal biases coming out :) Thanks for supporting the channel!

    Can I install this kind of kit on my 20” bmx?

    • @Ennovation
      @Ennovation  Год назад +1

      Hey there! You SHOULD be able to! There are some factors to consider, but generally people adapt kits like this to fit on just about anything :P I would look up some conversion videos, or check out other resources like the forums on ElectricBikeReview.com Wish you the best of luck on the build if you do it!

    Back rack battery is the best position for folding bicycles

    • @Ennovation
      @Ennovation  2 года назад +2

      Hey that sounds like a good idea! Is the weight being up and back on a little bike difficult to deal with? Or are most of them small enough to make that not too noticeable?
