Also a good tip for porting is to give a very nice polished product. To do this my good man go to Harbor freight in the sand paper dremel area they have scotch bright 3" balls with different colors for grains. Hook it up to your drill motor and have at it. You will thank me later. It will not cause damage it's like a shower sponge. Good video I enjoyed it a lot. 350z 4 ever
Denny Christensen this exact tip you gave works like a charm currently porting mine out at work right now that it’s slow just going at it slowly little by little since I have a full extra set of intake runners & Plenum.... the scotch brite deff gives it that finished touch👌🏻
awesome vid man, very informative. just bought my first z, dont know how much im going to do to it. (i live in cali...we cant do much...) but def give this one a thumbs up. cheers bud.
Good work! I did the same work on my plenum - I have the revup lower plenum on my cammed DE for more high-RPM power. I haven't dyno'd my latest work yet. Have you got your z back together yet?
I was going to use that new high temp paint to look anodized comes in red blue purple and silver metallic under coat is a must for best results. How feel about paint on a kinda boring looking plentum
Denny Christensen personally, I like either the polished shine or carbon fiber. While I do like the anodized, I just don’t think I’d be able to pull it off with the rest of my scheme. Haven’t heard of a paint for it but you did say it was new lol. I’m definitely gonna have to repolish mine soon when I get the car back. When I do I’ll make a whole video, feel like I been ghost for a while RIP.
unless these parts taper to be smaller where they attach making a larger circumference just where they connect and not through out the whole entire pathway is going to do much if anything at all.
I admire your mind set of trying something for yoursel but as far porting a set of heads you have no idea what u r doing. Making a head flow better is about to find restrictions in the whole length of the runner. Measuring the area of the valve seat and try to find smaler areas throughout the runners that can make the air slow down is what u need to focus on. Polishing doesn't do shit to air flow and some times slows it down. Bigger is not always better on a NA engine. Everything is about air flow velocity and how fast the air comes in and out of the combustion chamber. Good luck!
Your comment revolves around him "porting a set of heads" "making a head flow better" He's porting manifold/plenum here, not heads. He found smaller areas in the plenum that can make air slow down and he improved it.
I been doing this over 30 years already. Good stuff

i did this too but only the upperplenum & its more responsive for sure. it is a good way to get power in a DE

Jeff Richins appreciate it man! They’re fun cars, you’re gonna have a lot of good memories in it!
I mean shit all you really need is a smog guy

howd you port the heads without getting crap in there?
7:20 duct tape shoes 😂😂😂😂 best mod I've seen
A must !
Haha growing up skateboarding, that was the first mod I learned!
dyno results?
I guess tape is better than no tape good job
Awesome job man! subbed for dyno results
Make sure you tune for all that porting.
Nice work bro.
Did this make any noticeable difference?

whats that extendo you are useing for the dremel
what gaskets are you using for template

Are these stock gaskets?
thats correct

not enough gain to justify the means --stop watching fast & furious you are clueless
You sure about that?
worth it on ls's not vq's
worth it on rotaries too
