- As one of the major cities connecting the south to the midwest, I think Louisville is a fascinating city. In this video I briefly cover Louisville's history, population, skyline as well as a few things that make Louisville unique as a city. Thanks for watching: Louisville Overview | An informative introduction to Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville's an underrated city and metro area. It has a very healthy economy, low cost of living, and its metro area has been steadily growing for generations. Its climate is moderate and doesn't tend to get a lot of extremes, though summers are very warm and stifling like most of the rest of the country. The people I've met there tend to be pretty friendly and down to Earth (it's no accident that Jennifer Lawrence is a native). It has a lot of the amenities of a larger city with the chill Southern/Midwestern vibe of a medium-sized regional city. Obviously, it has its crime and poverty and other problems like any city but overall it's a pleasant place to visit and seems to be a decent place to live.
I completely agree
That’s a great summary. But Jennifer Lawrence being from there having anything to do with it is a stretch. I can find beautiful women in any big city.
@@iamchaunceman I believe he’s speaking of her personality and her kindness.. not the way she looks 👍🏼
I disagree, as a Louisville native, it has to be one of the worst cities I ever had the displeasure to live in. My older sister still lives there and the crime is outrageous. Churchill Downs is a dump, that place is a hood. Homelessness is also a big problem. The downtown also sucks.
@@Museum-zg6tzbonjour.
Salute To Louisville From Cincinnati. 💯
I'm originally from NYC but I moved to Louisville years ago and moved back and forth between NYC and Louisville a few times before finally coming back here two years ago. I will never look back at NYC. I love this city and am proud to claim it as my home.
My hometown! Don’t live there anymore but Louisville will always be home to me ❤
I grew up in NJ, but moved to Louisville in 2014, love it, it has become home
Bravo. Dommage.
My friend grew up there and goes back to visit family each year. She has a poster of the skyline in her office so I’ve “seen” Louisville many times. Taco Bell originates from Louisville? Wow! Thought it might be from Texas. Texas Roadhouse is another surprising fact. I love all the details you dig up! Great clip on that steamboat, btw. I’ve been on one and it’s a wonderful experience. Thanks for another addition to your city surveys. ♥️😎⭐️🥇🏆
Yeah I was surprised to learn those restaurants had their headquarters in Louisville as well! Thanks for the comment, as always!!
I grew up around Louisville and currently live in it, it's a great place to have fun when you have the Derby, Thunder and also Louder Than Life which you didn't mention! It held the biggest rock festival in North America in 2023.
Visited a few years ago and liked the chill vibe. Hot Browns are just wrong though. lol
I have always thought that the Louisville skyline has a very interesting to look at. I would love to visit this city. Great video.
Thank you!
Louisville has 18 city parks designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted. The same guy that designed Central Park in New York City. They are all exceptionally beautiful and well used.
Watch out for the helicopter event there
Awesome stuff, like always
Thank you!!
Wow Louisville has such rich history.
Great overview!! I’ve heard the Kentucky derby is out of this world!!!
Thanks!
Maybe sometime you’ll do Anchorage, Alaska. It’s a small city with about 300k and a metro of about 400k. A city in an unexpected place, with both a downtown and separate midtown skyline.
Yep, I'll add Anchorage to the list! Thanks!
He just did it!
Awesome!!
Several people that have moved to Louisville have decided to stay after college because of the community, family atmosphere, and just all around unique vibe
Quelle communauté ?
Man, all these American cities I've driven past or through and never stopped.....might have to take another road trip
Hope you do Des Moines soon
Yeah it’s on my list to get to in the next few months 😊
A 50-1 odds city. . .horse race talk for being underrated. : )
Don't forget about the oldest watertower at the Waterworks Museum and Locust Grove, a historic park with plenty of reenactments. : )
PS: @City Geek did you reupload your Louisville compilation? I seem to have remembered you had one earlier. It's okay if you did.
Thanks for the comment! I didn’t know about the oldest water tower.
And yeah I did a Louisville video a couple years ago but there were several things I didn’t like about it so I took it down to make an improved video about the city. I’ll be doing that from time to time when I think a city needs a better video than what I’ve already uploaded.
Tired of living on the street tired of living in bad Rundown halfway houses?
Come to Russell Springs Kentucky laid-back kind of life good clean atmosphere remember to say thank you and yes ma'am to the older folks here they have clean rooms with the freedom to move around and find a job here and best of all great cornbread tell him Darren sent you😊
This city ruined my run in project zombiod
It happens
C’est quoi le projet zombie ? Merci pour votre réponse.
My hometown!!!! Love my city I just wish people knew how to pronounce it right!!!
They need to fix the roads especially in Louisville downtown 😮
Louaville. Is how all locals pronounce it.
Luavul. : )
More like 50% do
Those Victorian mansions 😮
LOUI❤️VILLE
Looks a bit like Cincinnati 🍻
Don't insult us like that.
It’s only 1.5 hours away and I’ve always thought of cinncy as very similar, just larger :)
I've lived in Louisville and Cincinnati. Cincinnati is a thousand times nicer!
It's not Looey-ville. It's Lou-uh-vull.
Dave Muir ABC anchor pronounces it that way too.
Luh-vul
This my hometown
I prefer Hallandale beach Florida beautiful city good beaches and restaurants and growing businesses and communities, and good night life.❤
your info is wrong on the victorians
As someone who has lived in the Louisville area my whole life, I cringed every time you said the city name.
Lou-a-vul or Lu-vul
La banlieue est joli. Je me suis servi de Google Earth. Street View.
We don’t care what you locals call it…
You gotta say it like the locals. Retake
Half pronounce it one way or the other
You know you aren’t pronouncing “Louisville” correctly ;-) lol A local would pronounce it like “loo-uh-vuhl.” They will not let you get away with pronouncing it any other way.
He doesn't sound local. I think that's the point.
It's pronounced "loo-vull"
You’ve gotta learn how to say it lol. I’m not from there but the way you say it isn’t right.
Yeah I sometimes struggle with getting the correct pronunciation. I should have reviewed that before making the video
It kinda sucks to me, but there are worse places.
Louisville deserves its awful reputation. Stay away.
I agree, its dangerous
Sorry neighborhoods are more interesting than boring city centers.
Boycott Louisville
Wow! Louisville was never on my list of destination vacations but I agree with @zyxwut321 that it is totally underrated! What a great place with so much to see and do! Thank you for such a great video! I am going to need to watch more of these!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Louisville has newly massive skyscrapers, education, major sports venue & so much more!❤🤍💙❤🤍💙🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎✨✨✨✨✨✨
PROJECT ZOMBOID MENTIONED🥴🙏🏿🧟🧟🧟🧟
