to me now as it was in the 70s and 80s, especially downtown 4th st. area/ now 4th ave. / 4th st. Live. It use to be the connection of bringing people together especially those you haven't seen in a long time. Fun, fun, fun and so exciting and very memorable. Yeah, ghost town is what I perceived when moved to another part of town in 2018. Have moved back since. Also, please bring The Gardens / louisville Gardens (aka The Louisville Convention Cennter for outstanding events and concerts .
Thanks for this upload! I grew up in Louisville but live in Lexington now. After moving I still use to visit my home city often! Especially since Lexi is basically just “down the street” haha Since I lost my drivers license those visits have REALLY slowed!! About to get them back 🙌🏼🙌🏼 But been curious of all that has changed downtown.. not really a drastic “WOW” change but MANY nice Improvements!! New sub here
It’s a ghost town out there ! Lol planning on visiting my first time next month so I was curious to see what to expect and I’m suprised it’s so empty lol
I'm a born local. I love my city, and when I was traveling I missed it so much. I'm here now and I live it, still. However, it's not as homey or fulfilling to me now
I drove with my friend through Louisville from Colorado on our way to WV, oh my gosh I didn't know how to react. It was downtown somewhere near here but it was so dirty, so messy, trash everywhere, there was an entire homeless camp - there were drunk/drugged people walking up and down the street completely out of it - not knowing the kind of area we were in, we tried to stop and take a nap- bad idea, this dude stopped his car in front of us, got out of the car and started running to our drivers side door, we LEFT that area so fast. It absolutely broke my heart to see so many inebriated homeless people in what people think is such a beautiful and wonderful place. Um distressed, unhappy, bottomed out people looking for food in trash cans isn't cute, isn't fun, isn't endearing, there were no sights to me. I saw sad, homeless, inebriated struggling people just trying to survive. That town had me scared half to death, and brokenhearted at the same time. Same with people who like New York. Um, I dunno I guess I can't really get into the spirit of the city when there's people struggling with drugs and homelessness right in front of me. It can't be ignored, idk how the locals ignore it. I'm sorry, I just don't see beauty where people are literally starving and dying on the street in front of these pretty buildings im supposed to be looking at.
Thx for sharing your experience. I’ve been all over the US and I’m yet to visit a major city in America that doesn’t have major issues with homelessness and drugs. Definitely something that I hope gets better.
Louisville to me has always been a snore. I used to go down there occasionally to go out cuz the bars were open until around 4:00 a.m. but it was always kind of boring
Maybe not enough for that, right? But I think if we are talking over the last 10 years - the waterfront parks are better, the foot bridge is great, the soccer team, the breweries, the urban distilleries. There's some fun stuff in the city, as in all cities!
Downtown Louisville is dead. The Pandemic & BLM Protests killed it. Louisville is too spread out. It doesn't have a livable core. The Highlands is as close as you get.

Renovate it and help connect our city and revenue and the warmth that our city desperately needs.
I loved it. I can't thank you enough. It was a beautiful walk together. Let's walk more together. keep walking 💚💚

Some days it’s packed and some days not! Events and evenings seem to drive the crowd
@@ThePerfectWalk I ended up looking up the night life there and it looks cute and like some fun
@@marcosias9465 There's some cool new places. Brewery scene is lively and the soccer games are fun!
@@marcosias9465 it’s typical stuff you can do anywhere honestly. Louisville definitely isn’t a premier destination for a vacation at all
Born and raised in Louisville...this must've been recorded on a Sunday morning
Salve aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷❤

Meant to say earlier "That I love my city, Still.

Typical liberal city though

There have been a lot of changes - but it’s def not NYC.
@@ThePerfectWalk what type of significant changes to make someone want to drive 5-8 seats away let alone fly to Louisville?

Most cities in America are like that. In my opinion the most enjoyable cities are outside of America
A Dream For An Introvert Like Me.
I’m expecting a load of zombies to come after you like the 1993 alternate universe project zomboid
If you could start at 1st street and walk down oak and upload it I’ll love you forever. Really anywhere in old Louisville
I’ll see what I can do next time I’m up there!
@@ThePerfectWalk thank you!
Live walk. Old Louisville. Neighborhoods and interesting architecture.

Great idea
I leved there for few years and I hated it! Moved back to Europe, Berlin.
Thanks for watching!
Ratio + louisville better
Y cual es la razón de odiar esta ciudad?
I'm from Louisville
Oh great! I hope you enjoyed the walk!
you sould walk in downtown 2024 things have changed
I plan to soon!!!
Where are everyone
They weren’t downtown that day. This was during pandemic so not as many people downtown I think

Yes the last few years have certainly had an impact
I think it's a shame that you only show the negative parts of downtown Louisville. When there so many wonderful parts of downtown louisville.
Hey thanks for the feedback! I'll def. do more walks - what do you suggest I should highlight? Appreciate it!
I mean, they could have gone to Waterfront Park, but they covered it fairly well. Just an odd time when downtown was pretty empty, which is weird.
It does not look that bad. Commenters need to take a chill pill
There are worse places. Commenters need to chill with a pill
Crime ridden
Not more than most cities I don’t think think - statistically speaking. Is it more?
