I was a little fast on approach. There are some trees on short final that can give you some nasty windshear when the wind's out of the southwest, so I try to keep my speed up a little but on this one I struggled to bleed it off afterwards!
Hi Noel, Good job on a challenging cross wind landing. Those types of landings always catch our attention as they should. When the winds are that strong my approach is to touch down firm and safe, never mind looking pretty. Cheers
Thanks! Yep agreed, I had a fair bit of runway to play with but once I get past the first taxiway it's a case of just get the bugger down, or go around.
Yes, first time I've seen that happen. I mentioned it to the club and it's just the stresses on the airframe with it being such a windy day - combined with the fuel splashing around in the wing as we got thrown around.
Hi Noel, I’ve just found your second channel, it’s a pleasure to watch your antics… Seasons greetings. Grandpa Chris R. For great trout fishing videos.
Hi Noel. Thought I should ask about/mention something I spotted in the video. At 15:47 to 15:50, with the left wing shown, the upper surface of the wing appears to ‘ripple’ or move (the place where it does so is closer to the camera than to the end of the wing, and just left of the middle). This may be entirely normal and/or to do with the windy conditions but I simply wanted to bring it to your attention in case it isn’t or may not be. Thanks.
Thanks Stephen. That's the first time I've seen that happen. I mentioned it to the club and it seems it's just the stresses on the airframe with it being such a windy day - combined with the fuel splashing around in the wing as I got thrown around. In the audio from that camera you can here the banging as the fuel sploshes around in the wing.
Cracking video noel what a way to spend a day up there I have a passion for aviation unfortunately never got round to train as a pilot I regret it now lol I often just fly up to Edinburgh for the day as like you say there's no better place to be than in the sky on a lovely day I must get round to having a flight in a smaller aircraft than a airbus A320 just for the experience keep up with the good work and stay safe out there
nice one Noel. Beautiful views out over the wings. An eye leaning to helicopters? Can become another addition ☺️. My late father worked for Westlands in Yeovil. Long story 😁
I buddy hope you are well and ready for Christmas and new year. Brilliant flight buddy sun a bit strong on the landing but nothing to a top pilot. Philip won't mind going up with you one day to try and learn something about airoplanes take care and have a awesome festive season phil. 🤘🇬🇧🎅👍
Nice flight avlog as usual, a little bumpy.👍 Question you have 3 empty seats, no room for any subscibers on a future flight, obviously we pay for fuel and sausage sandwich? 🤔
I noticed it during the edit. I mentioned it to the club who advised it's probably just the stress with the crosswind and the fuel splashing up and down.
Hi Noel, think I live pretty close to you and am regularly at Gamston. Where / how do we get flyingeyes in the UK please? Second question is the Turweston Cafe better than Gamstons Apron Cafe, have a great Christmas!
Hey Nick, you can order on the website and they ship them direct to the UK. It's actually surprisingly quick, both my pairs have got here within 2-3 days (they ship via FedEx). And sad to say I've not used the Apron Cafe at Gamston. I've heard its good but more of a sit down table service restaurant than a cafe.
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips thanks, Noel I’ll be getting some flying eyes in 2022 then! I’d definitely recommend the Apron, summer months is great to sit outside and you do have to pre book but it’s a really good quality cafe/restaurant. Hope to see you about at some point!
Oh my, what is that super busy highway below you at 4:45...YIKES! That wind was so strong, no stall warning on touchdown...very smooth one!

Great video Noel, certainly looking forward to finishing my PPL and being able to do this myself!
It's amazing fun! Good luck with the PPL!
Same here guys I just past the half way point for my PPL in the states! It can’t come soon enough 🙏🏼🙏🏼😩😩
Great landing mate - certainly looked challenging!
brilliant video noel and well done on the landing
Thank you!
Cool video Noel. Keep it up! I learned to fly in Colorado and Oklahoma where winds can be bonkers….learned crosswind technique early on. 👍🏻

That was a nice Touchdown Noel! Great video keep em coming,,,,
Hi. Thanks for the video.... It was interesting to see the Skin on wing flexing when you were coming in to land.... Ciao.

Great video Noel and fantastic bit of flying man!
Great video Noel
Thank you!
That sure was the Noel concentration face on landing !! Great flight you captured some great shots!

You beat me to it! I noticed that too. All planes have a little ‘flex’ in their panels, but it might be worth checking out.

I wonder who gets the job of taking the plane back to its original spot? Great video by the way
That "Clear prop" was much more manly! 😂

I’m just a huge Aviation enthusiast (spotter) but I really enjoy your flying vlogs , great viewing 👍
13 kt crosswind is really scary for me. Good job.
Greased it!
Was flying yesterday from EGTK London Oxford Airport, on take off, I hurt my lower back because it was so windy 😣
Nice landing
Thanks Dan!

Haha, never know your (bad) luck!
Looks lIke g-galb has had a new paint job used to fly in her with my dad
Ah that's fantastic! Would love to see what she looked like before!
At landing I see the wing some places pop up and down - Just a question but does it need to be like that?
I noticed it during the edit. I mentioned it to the club who advised it's probably just the stress with the crosswind and the fuel splashing up and down.
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Perfect! Thanks for the answer, watching your new video right now and good job - Marry Christmas Noel! Amazing content.

Lovely. I've followed you for some time but didn't know you flew yourself. I thought you left the piloting of dangerous flights to someone else 🙂
Haha thank you!
Enjoyed the flight bit wired you flew over Diana then the military was behind you
Too bad you cant stuff that plane with airport kids.
