Saw Mammoth in Chicago opening for Alter Bridge in March - Wolf was an absolute class act. He was so blown away by the crowd reaction - after every song, the crowd was just freaking out, and it kept overwhelming him. He'd step back from the mic, with that look like "are these guys STILL cheering...for ME?" This tune I maybe hear a touch of "Foo Fighters" phrasing and structure. Love the building of tension. LOVED the solo. (notice during the "hits" during the solo, with the flash of each other band member, mimicking how Wolf found them - lead player has the Guitar Hero guitar, rhythm player has the broom, bass player is eating pizza, drummer has the battle of the bands trophy...). Whoever says "he's riding the coattails of Van Halen..." can't have listened to a single song on the debut album. Other than the last two notes of "Don't Back Down" (in a great homage to "So This Is Love") I don't hear Van Halen *at all*. I hear this talented young man, who has so much to say...and I literally can't wait to hear how he chooses to say it. And....he is *putting in the hard work*. Touring. Opening for different bands, cultivating interest across multiple genres of rock. Keep it up, Wolf.
Not surprising. Dave Grohl and the Fighters is a HUGE influence on Wolfie, he has stated in the past. Can't think of a better influence, apart from dad.
I like a lot of things about this band. 1. He's a big dude, and that's cool. 2. Musically, he doesn't sound a thing like his dad. And 3. There's more energy here than a lot of bands you hear now.
I keep coming back to watch this video over and over. The song is absolutely rocks! But pairing that with a video that tells a fun story just makes this my favorite thing on RUclips right now. I can't wait for the album to be released.
I've been playing guitar probably more than most of the commenters have been alive. I saw Van Halen on their first tour in Denver in 1978. Being a judgy prick, when I saw "Wolfie" playing with Van Halen, I thought he was just a novelty due to his famous dad. Fast forward many years and this video popped up during a RUclips binge. I sarcastically thought, "Oh this should be fun." Time to admit I was a judgy prick 100%. This kid is fucking amazing!! There is something about the groove of this song that just grabbed me. I retired from professional playing in 2016 for personal reasons, and never picked up a guitar again. After watching the video, I pulled out the PRS, dusted on the Boogie, and learned this song, just for fun. I haven't learned a song for fun since I was in my 20s (think 1980s). I love the new generation of musicians coming up and appreciate what they can do. I had always wanted to meet Eddie because he was my guitar hero growing up. I had a couple of opportunities in the 90s but other priorities prevailed. After listening to Wolf talk about his dad in interviews, I can clearly see I missed an opportunity to meet not only a great musician, but a great father. Keep up the great work Wolf!!!!! You are making yourself and your dad proud!!! The legacy continues. However, you are absolutely your own musician. Keep that groove.
Its been like 19 years since the first album. It came out 2 years ago but he'd recorded it 2013-2018, so its been like 5 years since he'd made any new music. The first album was sitting in the can for a while, this mythical solo album from Wolfie. He's had more than enough time to write a follow up.

I guess people are jealous. I'm happy for him. Doing something he loves doing. Creating music. Here's my advice to haters. If you don't like it, stop listening.
He is a totally down to earth guy, and yet people hate on him for reasons unknown. It makes no sense. You would think they would love him just for being Eddie's kid AND being super talented. But like you said, some people just love to troll or act jealous.
"It's time we take the throne" Guys, if you didn't think you took the throne after the first album, I don't know what you're trying to do here! Super excited for you to take over the world on this one!!!
It would be impossible to do a live performance solo, and Wolf knows it. Sure, he could just release albums... but fans would soon become restless wanting that live performance more and more. A full scale riot would ensue, and everybody's world is turned inside out. Okay, maybe not all of THAT would happen. But, we all get the picture. Definitely an accurate assessment of this video
@Mitchell Davis obviously thats a big word so I said it more like a meme than seriously, but what I'm really saying is there's deep meaning in what he's doing in the video. And he was able to also make it entertaining while doing it. To me it's basically like he was saying Hey, if I'm gonna take this to the next level I need help. I need to find some pros at these positions so that I'm not spread so thin trying to do it all myself. And so we can expand and have more creative input. And do shows. And who knows, maybe he's had similar thoughts about himself in the past and that's why he used those words as he replaced his bandmates. Could be a deep down self esteem thing, in part. Idk But at the end of the day he found a creative way to script it all into a music video. Instead of just doing it at a party on a beach with titties everywhere (which would have been cool too lol)
Finally hit me what this sounds like: “Same Direction” by Hoobastank. That is a compliment by the way, I like that Wolfie’s sound is a throwback to early-to-mid 2000’s.

@@DVincentW why would dumbed down, swipe right tic tok dummies that dont have an attention span have any effect on whether you continued playing guitar or not?
@@DVincentW.... and this won best comment
First and foremost I'm totally impressed that Wolfie plays all instruments. Then his vocals are amazing, and his van Halen sense of humor is just spot on great. This guy just oozes talent on all levels. Love this video. Please just keep it going wolf, love ya
He played everything on his debut. But now it looks like he’s getting his live band to record as well?
@@oldGnRrocks1 It looks like that's the video's theme.
His god-given talent
Right? His vocals are amazing and he sings at such a high vocal range, too.
This is an absolute BANGER
PHENOMENAL! It's been worth the wait for MammothWVH 2! Wolf obviously has inherited musical talent but he has definitely followed his own path and has proven to be a muti talented artist!!! Well done Wolf! Keep killing it!❤
This is the Rock N Roll I never knew I needed. This just hits the spot.
How can u hate on this kid? Vocals, Guitar-Lead and Rhythm, Bass, Drums, Writing on every level! And yet can poke fun at himself!
GREAT track! I wanna see these guys tour with Extreme. Bringing back the straight up Rock-N-Roll!!!
Perfect.
THIS!
I was just thinking the same thing. Extreme & Mammoth would make for a great 1 - 2 punch.
Oof, Nuno guest solo. Yes pls!
Oh that would be so cool. 2023 is really rockin
Eddie's legacy is in the right hands! God job, Wolfie! 🙏🏻😄

Oddly enough…I discovered WVH while having an MRI of my gallbladder 😂 I asked for a rock station and WVH happened to come on…and now I’m obsessed. I’ve been listening to his stuff since I’m stuck in this hospital bed. His talent is amazing. Love his voice. Love his guitar. Love everything about this band. I’m a VH fan so it makes my heart happy to see WVH following in his dads footsteps and killing it 🤘🏻 He isn’t living in his shadow or riding on his name…he is definitely forging his own path 🙌🙌👏🏻👏🏻
Wolf, your off the charts man. Hail the new king. Love this.
You're*
But I agree. Just discovered these guys, and I'm very impressed.
Haters appear when someone does something real amazing. Wolf has many great talents, I´m sorry for him for the loss of his father so soon. Wolf stay on your way, think of your dad, he is on stage everytime you play and forget the rest! You´re a rock! I salute you!
Saw Mammoth in Chicago opening for Alter Bridge in March - Wolf was an absolute class act. He was so blown away by the crowd reaction - after every song, the crowd was just freaking out, and it kept overwhelming him. He'd step back from the mic, with that look like "are these guys STILL cheering...for ME?"
This tune I maybe hear a touch of "Foo Fighters" phrasing and structure.
I bet that was a great show. I'm a big Alter Bridge fan also.
Lame, compared to Extreme's new album "Six". Just one example: ruclips.net/video/A964lZm0Buo/видео.html
Not surprising. Dave Grohl and the Fighters is a HUGE influence on Wolfie, he has stated in the past. Can't think of a better influence, apart from dad.
@@ckmoore101there area lot better influences than DG, but if it helps him get here, it works. Wolf sounds great.
I like a lot of things about this band. 1. He's a big dude, and that's cool. 2. Musically, he doesn't sound a thing like his dad. And 3. There's more energy here than a lot of bands you hear now.
Wolfgang, you are the best! Thank you for bringing back rock n roll. ❤
I'm not even his father and I'm proud of him!! Daaaayuuummm!!!
I keep coming back to watch this video over and over. The song is absolutely rocks! But pairing that with a video that tells a fun story just makes this my favorite thing on RUclips right now. I can't wait for the album to be released.
I absolutely AGREE!!!
Agreed 👍 great video!
👍👍
I feel like the first album just came out last month and now another new album? When did he even have time to make this? Dudes a beast!
Its been like 19 years since the first album. It came out 2 years ago but he'd recorded it 2013-2018, so its been like 5 years since he'd made any new music. The first album was sitting in the can for a while, this mythical solo album from Wolfie. He's had more than enough time to write a follow up.
@@gajaga789 I was being facetious. I know how long its been. It just feels like it just came out because I listen to the first one so much.

Wow this is Awesome!! He is Not his dad. He has his own path.
I love Mammoth's music. Great rock.and roll. You hear hints of his dad's style but he's got his own sound. I don't get the hate. He's immensely talented and had a great teacher.
"It's time we take the throne"
Guys, if you didn't think you took the throne after the first album, I don't know what you're trying to do here! Super excited for you to take over the world on this one!!!
He's all heart and talent like dad..possibly the luckiest kid on earth..
In total agreement!!! 💯
I have heard so many killer rock songs lately...fucking rock n roll is back with a vengeance
Outstanding song. I see the meaning of the video. It’s not about you. It’s about the members of your band. 🤘🏻
Yeah this video is next level genious
Why is WVH part of the 'band's name?
@@scottskinner577 What does genious mean?
Idk
But at the end of the day he found a creative way to script it all into a music video. Instead of just doing it at a party on a beach with titties everywhere (which would have been cool too lol)
Wolfie is lighting the world on 🔥 and he's just getting warmed up. The Mammoth record is the hottest rock record of the last 20 years imo.
This is one of the best music videos in the last 30 years!! Great job Wolfie!!
You've been hangin' out with Grohl....and it shows!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Finally hit me what this sounds like: “Same Direction” by Hoobastank. That is a compliment by the way, I like that Wolfie’s sound is a throwback to early-to-mid 2000’s.
I couldn't place it yeah, good call🎉
“I can’t believe we played the same thing!” “What are your names?” Lmao
And the guitar break, when the bass player is eating pizza and the drummer is showing his trophy, too funny
Rock is far from gone and Wolf is firmly at the helm. Listened to Van Halen as a teen and now I'm listening as an old man. I won't be playing bingo at no old folks home. I'll be playing some Mammoth! 🥰
Oh my. This has rocked my world. This song has the power to be a rock anthem and with the creative genius of Wolf, he has ascended to the rankings of Dave Grohl as creative masterminds in the modern rock Era. Amazing. The only other I can think about with this talent is Ritchie Kotzen. Great work. Thank you for bringing a new edge to the rock scene
This band is amazing!! Just as you think that rock n’ roll is dead, Bamm!!! You get this awesomeness. Wolfgang is just a gifted dude. I heard the live shows just kill, I’m seeing them this year, that’s for sure.
Live is INCREDIBLE. Wish I was in the US so I could go to his shows more frequently tho
Can confirm: live is incredible.
Thank you and congratulations on the well deserved success.
