Lyrics:
Lookin' for another reason
Lookin' for a little bit of anything
Oh give me something to believe in
A little nothing just to get me by now
Hey baby
your eyes 'll always give it away
Yeah baby
I'Il carry you to another day
We're on the right track now
You're every sight and sound
A kiss, a casket, and all our rights and wrongs
We're gonna take it back somehow
Now we're all alone
through blood and bone
You're all I want somehow but
Now it's all our own
so don't lose hope
I think it's time we take the throne
I think we made another mistake
How many more can we take?
Hear what you're saying but it's fake
I had it coming it was written there all over your face
Hey baby
Your life will always follow in tow
Yeah baby
You know it's just another celebration at the end of the world
We're on the right track now
You're every sight and sound
A kiss, a casket, and all our rights and wrongs
We're gonna take it back somehow

I don't understand the haters of WVH. He is by far one of the best and most talented musicians working today. Amazing song dude!
Agreed. The haters are simply envious. That's all there is.
I’m a big Alter Bridge fan. I’ve seen Mammoth open for them twice this year. Just about as good a concert as you can get. Crazy talent.
@@steverenison3375 Agreed! I think Myles Kennedy is one of the best rock singers ever!
@@LorenScott69 they just want their rap and bubblegum crap music. They can't stand someone who actually has talent.
There are no haters, just trolls. People that get off on getting a rise out of others. Before the internet, we just called them dicks
As an old guy from the original VH days, I'm so proud to see Wolf do his own thing in his own way. He's not trying to be Eddie 2.0. Loving how he incorporates some techniques from his dad, but he's not ripping him off. Total respect for him! Keep rocking it Bro!
No doubt Wolf is the an amazing Artist because of his Father taught him well from the time he could crawl he’s a guitar God
His Dad would be proud
Amen!
He's doesn't sound or play like Eddie, but you can absolutely hear Eddie. Especially the fills,
I mean his dad wrote the book. You would be hard pressed to find a guitar player alive today that doesnt have at least a sprinkle of EVH in their technique gear or sound.
This young man has done nothing but honor the legacy he was born into. He hasn't ridden coat tails, he hasn't tried to cash in on his name. He has simply DELIVERED!! I am blown away with every new offering!! Keep on doing you, Wolf!!
Why I love him. I didnt like that they replaced Michael Anthony felt wrong to me back then but it makes so much sense now. The kid doesn't need his dad to do this. He just is his son.
the fact that eddie is suck at teaching contribute a lot to wolfgang attitude on self-taught
He hasn’t tried to cash in on his name?!! If I recall correctly, the name Mammoth was used by an early incarnation of Van Halen. Secondly, he uses WVH in the band name??? If that isn’t LITERALLY using his name to cash in I don’t know what is… the first music video he made was home movies with EVH in them. I understand that the song was a tribute to his father, but again- still a cash grab.
❤Mammoth Rocks 😊
I avoided his music out of “I forgot he existed”😂
pathetic I know, but there r so so so many 🪓 slayers I emulate and love to KRANK through the P.A.😊
OF COURSE he uses Mammoth and WVH 😂 obviously that’s his family/name…duh
@@vicchaos-pz2ok He's not a "VH" clone - to assume he wouldn't use his actual name is ridiculous. Better tell Winger, Rudy Axel Pell, Michael Schenker, Alice Cooper, and a host of others that apparently real names are out of bounds. Or does that only apply to people who started off with a famous lineage, like Tal Bachman or Julian Lennon? ....and using the "Mammoth" is a fitting tribute to his family. How many casual listeners would have made the name connection? Would it be better if he called it "Rat Salad WVH", then only the hardcore fanbois would catch the reference...
If his music was marginal, this would be a cash grab...but this stuff is awesome!! Wolfgang's material holds up on its own...that's what i mean by "he's not riding coat tails". No one is "pity listening" to Mammoth WVH - they listen because he's kicking ass!!!
What’s not to love about this video?!? Wolfie writes an album, plays all the instruments, then fires himself on every instrument save for lead guitar. The video takes me back to the 80’s when videos were fun to watch. The song could easily get radio play in any decade from the 80’s to today. WVH has found the perfect balance of hard, classic and contemporary rock. I give it a 10.
Agreed this video makes music video's actually fun again
Exactly. This shit fuck!ng rocks.
Its B grade radio music.
@@bobabooey4537 opinion sure, but to write record and do everything yourself takes a talent that can't be denied. I know players who were way worse who lucked out into bands that made it, back in the depressing 90s alternative scene. B grade radio music, as you put it, is still popular to some people and personally I don't judge people based on the type of music they play or listen to. It still takes talent
@@bobabooey4537 post your single
Some kids rebel and want to be rock stars. Wolfgang just quietly carries on with the family business. Mad respect for his distinct sound and walking comfortably in his own shoes! Well done!
I am a huge fan of Van Halen. Seeing Wolfgang continuing to make music brings tears to me. He definitely has his own style which is absolutely perfect.
PHENOMENAL! It's been worth the wait for MammothWVH 2! Wolf obviously has inherited musical talent but he has definitely followed his own path and has proven to be a muti talented artist!!! Well done Wolf! Keep killing it!❤
That’s too bad about Wolf leaving the band but at least Wolf is still here! And sounding better than ever! Hoping they’re still on good terms with one another 🙏
I actually read that he recorded this album on his own, like the first one........but he still has the band......i could be wrong......have a good day
Wolf didn't leave, Wolf fired him.
@@ramirorodriguez9671 True. Wolf and Wolf becoming the next Mustaine/Hetfield? 🤔
I love how the running joke is drummer wolf is late, it was in don’t back down too
@@DyckfieldSwanson hope we don't have to wait decades for them to play together again.
I'm a 68 year old musician who has toured and recorded. With the exception of The Beatles I've seen the good and the bad and the ugly, all of them. This kid is the real deal. He takes everything good about rock and roll it makes it better. He's a great musician but an even better songwriter and that's the key..
I've seen Mammoth live 3 times in the past 6 months and the thing that I absolutely love about Wolf is the genuine enthusiasm he has on stage. He's obviously a very good musician and a fantastic singer, but I think his biggest talent is his ability to write outstanding songs. He's could have easily tried to sound just like VH and had some success, but he created a sound all his own and it kicks ass!
Did you see them with Alter bridge? That was a damn good show! Saw them in Orlando
Wow awesome I agree with comments it’s very much like the videos from the 80s and the kid is great.
I agree 100%. AS I commented above, caught Mammoth in Chicago with Alter Bridge - the crowd response for Wolf was absolutely insane. After every song, the reaction was full and sustained...like for 30+ seconds people were cheering and screaming and pumping fists in the air. Wolf would look like he was about to start the next tune, and then would hesitate for just a second, like "holy crap, are they *still* cheering?" and get this look on his face of utter disbelief. He'd take a step back from the mic, look over to one of the other guys like "can you believe this?".
His writing/song structure is really great. He builds tension, he works towards a "release" point, he has great "hooks". It's not cookie cutter at all. You can hear true emotion and expression. Looking forward to the next 20 years.
He has so much genuine passion! It's very inspiring
This is one of the best comments I have read! You are 100% correct he has created his own sound and style!
This tune is the best thing I have heard in a looooong time. Kid can sing. What a range. The song is killer, the band is on fire, and I totally forgot about how legendary his roots are because he is starting his own path. Like Foo Fighters on steroids....what a sound
Like Foo Fighters meets Avenged Sevenfold.
Amazing job!!
Definitely heard some Foo in it and that's a great thing!!!
Money analogy.
Actually, I think this is once again just Wolf playing all the instruments on the studio recordings. At least, last year he said he was going to continue recording on his own and use the band for live appearances and videos.
Thank you and congratulations on the well deserved success. As a 53 year old man that was living and working in Hollywood for SIR in the 80s, I was privileged enough to see Van Halen and everyone that followed play and Van Halen were about to change rock and roll. Enter Wolfe. Round 2. .Your family is like the gift that keeps on giving. Don't listen to anyone or anything other that your heart. You are one of the greats on so many levels. I look forward to witnessing your journey.
"this Van Halen legacy will go on"
- Eddie Van Halen (on Howard Stern)
Hahaha Howard Stern…Bahahahaha
Wow! Just WOW!😮
Edward said on multiple interviews that Wolfgang is insanely legit talented. He said even more talented than himself. I believe the word he said one time to describe Wolfgang was “Dangerous.”
Howard Stern is a bonafide douche.
@Paul where is the humor there?
This man is a breathe of fresh air on the music scene. It's good to hear some SOLID Rock N Roll once again!🤘
Bring back grunge
Well said. I agree 💯 music has needed this badly for almost 15-20 years.. A real artist not conforming to the industry. Doing it his way.
@@captianmurphy6207 No thanks! That's what killed real lead guitar playing once, let's not have that again.
Just realized that “I’m alright” is playing on the background when wolf first goes to the bar after he fires the incompetent wolf
HOLY CRAP! I remember telling a friend back in 1991 that someday we would be listening to this kid named Wolfgang Van Halen that had just been born. Today I just listened to a song from him that gave me goose bumps. The Van Halen legacy carries on. Eddie would be so proud.
Same. I’ve been waiting lol
That's so cool. Thanks for sharing with us.
...that is a hard legacy to hold, but he is killing it... makes me happy
I don't look at this as a Van Halen legacy.... I look at it as a Wolfgang Van Halen legacy..... The reason why I say that is that Van Halen never had a song this heavy.... Either way I love both!!👍
Wolfgangs style is different than his Dad but that's Fine. He cut his teeth playing Bass for Van Halen. How cool is that.
Not only does Wolf have allot of his Dads talent he has all his humor, he is funny as hell, love, 65 year old fan of your Dads and now you, keep the VH name going Sir.
I am 62 years old and never appreciated Van Halen. But Wolfgang ❤ he is so talented and so humble and always remember to honor thy father and thy mother🕯️
Finally hit me what this sounds like: “Same Direction” by Hoobastank. That is a compliment by the way, I like that Wolfie’s sound is a throwback to early-to-mid 2000’s.
I couldn't place it yeah, good call🎉
I'm fully assured, the Van Halen rock legacy is in good hands. What a monster jam to preview the sophomore album. Gonna pre-order it soon. Your pops is smiling down on you Wolfie 😊😊🤟🤟
I’m starting to think the heavier Wolf goes the more I’m gonna like it. He brings melody with whatever he does.
Perfect mixture of new and old. Rock will live on
I feel like the first album just came out last month and now another new album? When did he even have time to make this? Dudes a beast!
Its been like 19 years since the first album. It came out 2 years ago but he'd recorded it 2013-2018, so its been like 5 years since he'd made any new music. The first album was sitting in the can for a while, this mythical solo album from Wolfie. He's had more than enough time to write a follow up.

A prodigy on multiple levels. He’s brilliant and obviously inherited some exceptional genetics.
@@BigBass-xf5yi Indeed! Agree 💯%
Saw Mammoth in Chicago opening for Alter Bridge in March - Wolf was an absolute class act. He was so blown away by the crowd reaction - after every song, the crowd was just freaking out, and it kept overwhelming him. He'd step back from the mic, with that look like "are these guys STILL cheering...for ME?"
This tune I maybe hear a touch of "Foo Fighters" phrasing and structure. Love the building of tension. LOVED the solo. (notice during the "hits" during the solo, with the flash of each other band member, mimicking how Wolf found them - lead player has the Guitar Hero guitar, rhythm player has the broom, bass player is eating pizza, drummer has the battle of the bands trophy...).
Whoever says "he's riding the coattails of Van Halen..." can't have listened to a single song on the debut album. Other than the last two notes of "Don't Back Down" (in a great homage to "So This Is Love") I don't hear Van Halen *at all*. I hear this talented young man, who has so much to say...and I literally can't wait to hear how he chooses to say it.
And....he is *putting in the hard work*. Touring. Opening for different bands, cultivating interest across multiple genres of rock. Keep it up, Wolf.
I bet that was a great show. I'm a big Alter Bridge fan also.
Lame, compared to Extreme's new album "Six". Just one example: ruclips.net/video/A964lZm0Buo/видео.html
Not surprising. Dave Grohl and the Fighters is a HUGE influence on Wolfie, he has stated in the past. Can't think of a better influence, apart from dad.
@@ckmoore101there area lot better influences than DG, but if it helps him get here, it works. Wolf sounds great.
Eddie Van Halen brought rock back from the dead in the era of Disco... Looks like his son will do it again in the era of Rap. Incredibly talented young man.
Doubt he'll do that but he's a great musician though.
There is not another EVH not even close. That being said life/music move on. Wish WVH best of luck!
This is an era of music written BY computers. Im talking about music that is solely made by AI. Not a person writing music on a computer. Autotuned vocals. An era where you dont need talent to create music. As long as Im alive, Ill never stop playing guitar. Esp because these dumbed down, swipe right tic tok dummies dont have an attention span. Outstanding song. I see the meaning of the video. It’s not about you. It’s about the members of your band. 🤘🏻
It would be impossible to do a live performance solo, and Wolf knows it. Sure, he could just release albums... but fans would soon become restless wanting that live performance more and more. A full scale riot would ensue, and everybody's world is turned inside out. Okay, maybe not all of THAT would happen. But, we all get the picture. Definitely an accurate assessment of this video
Yeah this video is next level genious
Why is WVH part of the 'band's name?
@@scottskinner577 What does genious mean?
@Mitchell Davis obviously thats a big word so I said it more like a meme than seriously, but what I'm really saying is there's deep meaning in what he's doing in the video. And he was able to also make it entertaining while doing it.
To me it's basically like he was saying Hey, if I'm gonna take this to the next level I need help. I need to find some pros at these positions so that I'm not spread so thin trying to do it all myself. And so we can expand and have more creative input. And do shows. And who knows, maybe he's had similar thoughts about himself in the past and that's why he used those words as he replaced his bandmates. Could be a deep down self esteem thing, in part. Idk
But at the end of the day he found a creative way to script it all into a music video. Instead of just doing it at a party on a beach with titties everywhere (which would have been cool too lol)
Talent with music and comedy.... remind me of another band....
This is one of the best music videos in the last 30 years!! Great job Wolfie!!
I keep coming back to watch this video over and over. The song is absolutely rocks! But pairing that with a video that tells a fun story just makes this my favorite thing on RUclips right now. I can't wait for the album to be released.

THIS! This is the song I've been waiting for. WVH had years to work on the first record and I was hoping it wasn't a fluke...so many first records are flukes. NOT THIS DUDE! This legitimizes the future where the songwriting and musicality of Van Halen rides forward through WVH.
The guitar solo in this one really made me think of Eddie. I wanted to see more technical stuff like that after the last album only had a couple songs with it. I'm super excited where Mammoth is going.
This is an instant classic, both musically, and visually! It’s like watching somebody get shot out of a cannon! We are indeed fortunate to receive his gifts. ❤
Love it! ❤️🔥 The drums in this song are kick ass! 🔥
