No
Now what have you done? No
How far will you run?
Falling one by one
Is that enough for you my love?
Failing everyone
Am Ienough for you my love?
I swear It hought it was over
Just let me know when you're done
And when the lights start fading
Take a bow it's over for me
You're wrong at the right time. Save me
Take a bow you're devastating
Now
take back what you've done
Now
Got nowhere to run
nowhere to run
Oh god just let it be over
I can't believe what you've done
And when the lights start fading
Take a bow it's over for me
You're wrong at the right time. Save me
Take a bow you're devastating
Lost in darkness
Did you forget what you're fighting for?
Crossed and heartless
Did you forget what you're running from?

The guitar solo makes my heart smile big time. That sound is in our collective DNAs, ain't it?
THAT guitar and THAT amp make a sound that nothing else can...IN the hands of a Van Halen. It's obviously cool to hear that Wolf has the fingers and the touch. He doesn't sound like Ed. But, he sounds like a "Van Halen" should. The guy has the DNA, but it takes tremendous effort to put it to work. He clearly has.
Nowhere else it could have come from. That solo made my heart happy and my eyes watery.
He is his father's son.
@@jbcokeralways 💯🤘
The solo and tone reminded me of So this is love
And we all thought Ed's gift to us was his own playing... Wolf is Ed's true masterpiece. What a gift... Sky's the limit for WVH. He's the best there is in my opinion. Nobody does it like that anymore...
I’m sure that’s what Eddie believed too!
This hit me right in the feels. 😢
Stone cold truth!❤
This is beautiful.
I hear so many influences in his writing. His voice really surprised me. Great band!
Between the Nuno solo on Rise and this solo from Wolfie... we can safely say ROCK is still very well alive. Keep on Rockin' Wolfie 😎!!!!
Yes! Loving both! 👏👏👏 ❤
Couldn't agree more !!!!!! 🤘
Sounds like Nickelback
Way to Go ❤Wolfe, Amazing once again my Brother!
Coming into his own!
What no one talks about with Wolf is how good a singer he is.
Sure, Wolfgang inherited his father’s musical DNA. But he certainly made it all his OWN❗️👍🏼
And his father would have it no other way! Ed had been singing Wolf's praises for a very long time. (He didn't bring him into Van Halen just because he was his son, which of course he loved immensely, he did so because the kid could flat out play!). Ed heard the 1st album before anyone of course, & had been telling everyone, "Just wait until you hear it!". He KNEW how good the music is. What a happy conclusion for Wolfgang, all of his individual success, amongst such intense sadness at the loss of his father, & best friend. Ed was extremely proud of Wolfgang & would no doubt be thrilled with how this song turned out. Wolf killed it! ❤️🎶🎸
Don’t forget Valerie❤❤
And lets not forget this guy played bass!!@@coldwinter5710
@@suehaynie5054mommy's support!❤
He learned from one of the best guitar players and got a bonus gift of an amazing drummer for an uncle. Who obviously had this man on his knee as a child. He's a double, scratch that, that a triple threat ❤ great pipes as well❤❤
Fisrt time in my almost 50 yrs on this planet, that I cried during a guitar solo...
Such a huge part of many of us lost a piece of our childhood when EVH left us. It will always be very raw emotions for me. Eddie brought me so many smiles and happiness, watching him play, hearing him,and his glorious smile.
Thank you,Wolf..for keeping him still here with us, through you and your music.
YES. Your are right. Wolf made it! A teardrop in my eyes.
Absolutely; I closed my eyes during that solo, and I could picture Ed playing it. Outstanding 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Well said!!!
Yup. I cried too. LOVE this song!
And knowing the solo was recorded on Frank is just 🤌🥺🤘
As a 60-year old guy who has grown up with a wide variety of musical interests, I have to say that I LOVE this song, the writing, the playing, the vocals, everything. Wolfie, you have absolutely evolved into your own person. Congratulations to you. I just hope everyone else will realize who you are, and what you have to offer, as opposed to just being "Eddie's kid." This is amazing stuff. Definitely 90s alt-rock inspired, but a timeless feel to it.
JUST TURNED 60 YESTERDAY AND A WOLFIE FAN,SO MUCH TALENT
This is my favorite thing he's done so far. Wont be an easy road but he will carve out his own spot. Real music fans will be his following. His Dads shoes are giant. He's smart enough to know he's making his own shoes. Rock on Wolfie!
They will as soon as every comment doesn't mention "Eddie's kid". and starts to comment only on the music of Wolf Van Halen.
Thinking the same thing about 90s alt music. I was like wow this has such a feel of hard rock and definitely 90s alternative
I just 55 year old man you hit it right on the head buddy
Can well just agree that is the greatest modern rock solo of the past decade?
For me it is
Somehow you can just hear that is Frankie in the solo! That squeal and harmonics are so good to hear again. Wolf, you rock brother and your Dad is proud as hell! 🤘
Do you mean the Frankenstrat or you just confused Eddie's name?
@@martingimenez339 He used the Frankenstein for the solo on this track
Wolf did play his Pops Frankenstrat on this song!
@@martingimenez339 The "Frankenstrat".
@@guitarman6600 And the original Marshall as well
Man that solo really hits hard. The Wolfpack delivers strong again.
Just read that the solo was played on his dad's Frankenstein and Marshall amp. That's epic! Got a real EVH vibe from it but in Wolfgangs own style. What a time to be alive.
*Frankenstrat
It was Eds 1968 super lead Marshall Plexi..
@jondunmore4268 Wolf stated that officially what is written in the case of the original guitar is "Frankenstein."
Great song Wolf! I lost my mother to oral cancer right after your dad passed away. She was the same age as him too. I grew up on Van Halen. I am not trying to compare necessarily but you keep going and I’ll keep going too. I guess I feel a bit of kindredship with you from a distance. I’m just a small town dude who misses his mom and EVH as well. I’ll keep playing my guitar too. It’s so hard to be without my mom Wolf. And I know you understand. Keep rocking.
This is some of Wolf Van Halen’s finest musicianship!! I absolutely love everything about this song!! You can hear shades of his father, but Wolf’s unique sound shines through like a beacon in the darkness!! This song signifies everything that MammothWVH is! I can’t wait to see this song played live! The freaking emotion alone is beautifully expressed through each note! Well done, Wolf!! ❤️🙌🏻❤️
"Awesom" WVH, EVH BLOOD IS ROCKING IN HEAVEN AND on EARTH.
Lame, compared to Extreme's new album "Six". Just one example: ruclips.net/video/A964lZm0Buo/видео.html
I could not have said it better
I wish EVH had lived if only to see what his son has become.
The solo is the most inspired piece of guitar I've heard in years! Those bendings, the tapping texture...perfect!
HIS DAD WAS NEXT TO HIM🎸🎶🎵
He definitely made his dad's guitar talk and sing.
Wow, what a powerhouse of a lead! From the patient pauses in attack matching the percussive themes built into the song, to the little chromatic runs, to the extremely well placed tapping techniques all wrapped in a swing serving melody that can only come from part God part Dad but delivered through the soul and hands of Wolfgang. What a wonderful balance of honoring the father while being his own person. Dude, you just simply rock and thank you for being an important part of keeping Rock alive.
That guitar solo is an all timer. Incredible!
I LOVE MAMMOTH WVH
Me too!
who doesn't!❤
The kid's got it Fer sure.
And "A SINGER'S SINGER, IN A TIMELESS WAY, as well..... I HAVE to Laugh, and let the Tears roll while I'm grinning...
I love this, getting a huge kick ass solo within a great song...epic 👍
4:00 holy sh*t, man, Just wow 😯
That solo is on fire….It is so good I’ve listened to it so many times.. It’s kinda like when I first heard, “Distance “ it just reaches out and grabs hold..Wolfgang is an amazing artist…
I've said this before, but I have to say it again, I LOVE WOLFIES VOCALS!! like a fresh drink of water. No shade at your dad because I love my van Halen, but wolfie you seriously are a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Thanks for keeping rock alive
I’m very sad that I can never hear that solo for the first time again. 4:00-5:20 is pure magic.
This my friend is in fact Rock n roll at its best. Absolutely love this song 🤘🏻🙏❤️☮️
I’ll tell you what’s devastating - that entire song! The best sounding rock sound since the last Mammoth WVH album. Wolfie - you definitely have your father’s touch in that solo. Fuck me, what a tune.😮
All those years of Eddie saying “ wait until you hear Wolfies album” was such an understatement of what it actually is. His talent is just as awesome as his father and Uncle but his own, and different. When I think back to when he was a teen going out with Vanhalen my first thought was that’s child abuse lol never played in front of 50 people so let’s put him in front of 20;000 lol then remembering Sammy saying in interviews he was playing and singing to a tape lol as a 57 year old man who’s first concert experience was first watching AC/DC followed by Vanhalen at a day on the green in 1978, I have to say I get the same shock and awe and warmth every time I hear Wolfes music. That solo was perfect……..Vanhalen DNA but different in a great way. This is what music needs right now. My kids got me tickets to his show here in August and I can’t wait
At 64 yrs young , nice to hear that rock is still alive 🎸🎸🎸
YESSS. #keepingrockalive thank you Wolf
Me too brother! 53 and still flying the flag!
Holy cow kid…at about 4:03 to 5:20 if you aren’t channeling your pop I’m crazy! 🤘🏻Nicely done!!
I am listening at this solo on repeat for days... maan , thats one iconic solo... this song needs official video... in some desert with guitar sredding... :D
I think what's so great about wolfie is he's carving his own part and not competing with his dad. But the apple don't fall far from the tree and that solo is defo something evh would be proud to play.
@@matijabo _It is the official video._ You might be able to find a live performance someone recorded on his tour right now.
@DVincentW it's a lyric video. All bands have them. They haven't made a video for this song yet.
Oh boy...can't wait for the Justin Hawkins Rides again comments about this one... great song, and hearing that solo played with his father's guitar and amp... what a great time to be alive! Goosebumps....
I was on vacation too Gran Canaria at Puerto de Mogan, sitting on the beach, watching my kid play in the water, the sun was setting down, then this song started playing, gave me instant goosebumps, this is a great song, and will always remember this moment.
You know when Wolfie plays this solo live, the crowd is going to lose their shit.
Dude has a talent for writing catchy hooks and then arranging and overdubbing extra instrumental accents and melodies to make the song sound huge. That whole guitar solo section is killer.
Ok that guitar solo gave me goosebumps...
Man that was an intense guitar solo. Wow dude.
I saw these guys live two days ago, when they were opening for Def Leppard at Marlay Park in Dublin. I had no idea that they were going to be as good as they were, but when they played this song, I was blown away by the guitar playing and song writing of WVH🤘
Lucky 🍀 you 😊
That looks to me the biggest challenge, making it work live. His band have their work cut out for them. I’m hoping they headline Lollapalooza in ‘25. I will be there for that.
I thought the were on 🔥in London! Better than motley crue!
Awesome to hear the Frankenstrat sing again 👏👏👏🙏
Using Eddie's gear, is such a great tribute to the master. Well played sir.
Mammoth II is going to be a phenomenal album. I can tell.
An interview with Michael Anthony brought me here. When Mike Anthony said “I heard the track Take a Bow and the solo sounds exactly like something his dad (EVH) would play and in fact, Wolf played the solo on one of his dad’s guitars with one of his dads old Marshall amps”…
I couldn’t get here fast enough.😂
@timw.6910 same here. For some reason I've been listening to a lot of Van Halen interviews. Also just finished the audio book Eruption. Truly a fantastic book that gives new insight on Eddie's life...
My god that solo!!! Dude, I know you are and have grown into your own style... But damn, you got your father's gifts and I will always be a fan! 🤘
No one studied more at the feet of the master than WVH.......no one.
@@mindelomani see your point but he didn't really study from Ed. Wolfgang has said plenty of times that he was a shit teacher 😂
@@Fermonx No...but he watched carefully, as kids do...Wolf has been doing hammer ons since he was in nappies 🙂
It’s like WVH had Eddie’s soul come through on that solo. Man that was hella good. I hope he brings back that Frankenstrat & Marshall combo more. Cuz that tone is one of a kind & only WVH can do it
Frankie sounds amazing! Same great tone. Warm and familiar. Like coming home... yet Wolf injects his own signature into the sound, as well. A perfect fusion of old and new.
To attend & witness Wolfs tribute to Taylor & to his Pop that night was pure magic! This song undeniably has surpassed the sheer brilliance of what we know of Wolfs talents & what a beautiful tribute to his Pop by playing his infamous Frankenstrat that didn’t just strike a chord but heartstrings as well! The melody, harmonic structure, soaring vocals, grungy bass lines, lyrics, the list goes on! I’m so excited to hear mammoth ll in its entirety and so excited that he & his music is here for generations to come! I’m so happy to see that happening for Wolf! Phenomenal!!
I was at the LA Tribute show and I didnt think it was possible for someone to sound THAT much like his Father. I Was absolutely FLOORED. RIP TAYLOR HAWKINS AND EVH
60 AND IM HOPING TO SEE WOLFIE IN AUGUST,KILLER GUITAR
Upon 2nd listen, I'm almost 100% positive that's Ed's Frankenstrat being used in the solo section. You can literally hear the tone. It was mentioned on a podcast it was being used somewhere on this record (Ola Englund "Coffee with Ola" podcast perhaps)? Can't remember which podcast it was. Pretty sure this is the track.
Yep. On this song out of Wolf's mouth.
Wolf played Frankie through his Dad's legendary Marshall amp.
This brought a tear to my eye!! Watching and hearing this young man find his place in music, is just amazing!!!
Between the loss of his father, and the unfair comparisons to a man that no one will ever compare to, I think Wolf has proven that he’s the absolute real deal, and will continue to do the Van Halen name proud!!
WELL SAID
Totally agree. The solo brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Eddie, Valerie, and Wolf!
This guy keeps on handing out surprises in musical form, like Santa does presents at Christmas time... This track utterly slays.... It's completely unpredictable, and it's beautiful at the same time. So far, it's my favorite track on this album. Somewhere up there, Edward is grinning from ear to ear, with tears in his eyes. Everything he said about Wolf is true.
Damn.. What a melodic masterpiece. That solo is truly the finest nod to his pops! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤘🏼
Guitar solo gave me goosebumps, so good
I got goosebumps listening to this just like when first hearing your dad and uncle in 1978 at the age of 13.
❤This song is amazing 👏 I can't quit listening to it. Wolfgang Vanhalen WOW!!! You are a shining star 🌟
We are close in age. I remember eruption came out I was taking lesson at a great music school. Nobody knew what Eddie was doing. I said. He plugged his guitar into a ibm computer. Everybody laughed. Then I got tickets. 2$ obstruction view behind the amp . Eddie turned around for eruption to hide from audience. I saw it clearly. I told my teacher I got it. He goes. Not the the ibm computer. I said no. He was poking the guitar. I showed him one spot. I remembered he quickly figured rest out. Wrote me tabs. I had a year head start to tapping
Incredible song. The hair stood up on my arms when the solo started, because it's the old school VH sound. Great job! Wolfgang has developed his own sound with hints of his lineage. Incredible.
That dive/pull in the back right after the solo was a whoa moment, much love Wolf
I thought the same thing. Brought a tear to my eye. lol
What a song!! I am so happy that Wolf is blazing his own way but also paying perfect homage to his dad. This is precisely how a child should be!! Bravo!!
That solo… The technicality of the playing is amazing and then throw in the groove. I haven’t heard a solo like that in a LONG time
I’m so proud and impressed with what Wolf has done and he’s just getting started love the backing vocals the man understands what people want
You can hear his influences and the fact he toured with alterbridge and tremonti. Definitely had his own unique style though, so good!
I had to listen to your song twice. Once for the lyrics and then for the guitar. Amazing. I love that your work stands out from anything else in popular music. Twenty first century rock, for sure.
That solo sent chills down my back.... When your dad said you should hear some of Wolf's stuff it's incredible... He wasn't lying... I'm gonna have to buy the next CD... The first one is awesome... Really good song!!
Wolfgang has become a tremendous musician his dad would definitely be very proud of him. This song is a great song and I hear his dad‘s guitar you can almost hear a little bit of his dad coming through his son how amazing is that. I watched his dad start his career and watch it to the very end of his life and now for me to be witnessing his son taken up on his own career I’m a very fortunate man and I will be supporting him throughout his career keep up the good work. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Absolutely LOVE the solo! Phrasing is so damn tasty!!!🔥🤘👍
Wolf’s vocal and songwriting chops are “devastating” great song!!
Eddie lives,,,,,,for-friggin-ever!!!! That solo made me tear up a bit...
That guittar solo is fantastic. You can hear his DNA on it. A lot of the phrasing is sooo VH, is clearly he is a VH.
That solo reminds me of someone….
Sophomore album I’m watching Wolfgang grow up, as in this is a wonderfully awesome album. It’s not about reliving Van Halen, Wolfgang is very talented, can sing well. I absolutely love the songs. Yeah he could sit around and play guitar for the 80’s crowd. But he’s formed a hell of a 2023 band that’s very much different. I love to watch his talent. He makes great music thsts all his own. His dad may be the most famous guitarist ever but this young man is in no one’s shadow, he’s damn talented.
I love it! I don’t consider this channeling Ed. This solo is a good example of the style Wolfgang is forging on his own. He’s has an excellent mix of both thought out tasty controlled phrasing AND spontaneous exciting interruptions.
Well done Wolfgang
That solo is a f'kn journey‼️‼️‼️What another great release
I dont think I have listened to a musician where every time a new song from him its an instant hit for me
Great phrasing in that solo, Wolf .... Original, yet familiar. 🔥
The solo Guitar is in your DNA ❤
Wolf never disappoints. He's got so much talent, it's incredible. I'm so happy for him and his success, he's the real deal.
It is refreshing to see someone truly love what they do!! It shows in the sound😁🎸👍🏻
Lame, compared to Extreme's new album "Six". Just one example: ruclips.net/video/A964lZm0Buo/видео.html
Omg 😳 the tone, timing and feel of that guitar solo is incredible!! Amazing stuff Wolf
Wolfie has become his own man, and this song is as good as music gets :)
I can imagine Wolfgang playing the solo to this and paying homage to his Dad, sweat and tears pouring down in the studio. Very musical solo and rhythm reminds me of the solo section to In the Dead of night by UK. Awesome to hear what comes out of this kid musically, whether he is a Van Halen or not.
BRAVO! Everything this kid touches turns to gold! Amazing piece of musicianship Wolf! It is a pleasure to watch you grow and show the world who you really are! Love It!!!! ...and the solo had such a great timing and feel to it. Man...Amazing stuff!!!
The solo is a wonderful, heartwarming tribute to his Dad
If Eddie was still with us Van Halen would be doing this song in concert with Eddie blazing the solo
Saw your Pop in 78. Straight outta Pasadena. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Cool tune.
The tone, the breaks, the groove! As for the solo, it gave me goose bumps! 🤘🏻 I’m so excited for this album! Amazing job Wolf!
Awesome song Wolfie!!!! I can clearly hear this is one of songs that you used your Dad's axe and rig on..... sounded awesome! Can't wait to hear the next release!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Heard this song yesterday live, it was their first time doing it. It's even more amazing in person, such a good song!!
I‘m jealous you heard it live. And i‘m happy for you, of course!
This is the song that’s get you on main stream young man!! Keep shining!! Your dad is grinning ear to ear w that big smile he had watching down on you!!
I think there are no limits what Wolfgang is able to do musically. I could‘t be more impressed.
Another killer song.
Mammoth is fantastic!!!
Bass tone...
Jeezzzzzz!!!!
Saw Wolf in concert, absolutely amazing, he's an original his solos his guitar and his style. A true talent, somewhere ED'S looking down and smiling that big smile. We are all looking forward to the next album.
The man is a musical genious in his own right, but when his dad's dna comes out of him in his playing I get chills up and down my spine. So awesome. Keep on Rockn Wolf! Love it.
What a great vocal from Wolf! His voice is so great...everybody talks about all the instruments he plays so well...rightly so. But dig his voice...it is insanely good!
Love that solo... Like father like son!!!
Again another great song. Can’t wait till Saturday at Wembley
Literally got chills listening to this. WOW!!! The solo...pure bliss!! Wolf may be the son of a rock god but he is proving he has his own unique style that deserves to be noticed. I can't say enough great things about his music. Congratulations Wolf, you literally just blew this 58 year old gal away with your talent.
3 quality releases from the new album. Each shows a slight difference in style and writing. Cant wait for august!
Missed the Franken strat, thanks for giving it life once again.
I imagine Wolfgang as a person with great sensitivity and delicacy.
This song is devastating! Back again to listen. Damn boy. Love the...what I thought was a keyboard...alien landing lick. 🤣🤣🤣History repeats. 🤘
Your solos make me cry dude. Seriously. Your dad is proud up there.
This tune couldn't be more perfect! I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes during that solo. Thanks for another masterpiece, Wolfie!!
That. Solo. And the history of the guitar behind it. 🤘🏻🇺🇸🎸 tremendous. Just tremendous. All hail WVH
Its awesome to hear “Frankie” singing again. Been needing that!
The best thing about "that solo" is its controlled structure. Everyone would EXPECT the son of the GOAT to go hellbent from start to finish, but firstly he has constructed a great song, and then elevated it with a tasty solo, that takes us on a journey rather than splatters all over our cochleas. It leads us, coaxes us into hearing the melody - and the extemporizations of that melody - and then sweeps us into the scintillating climax when it has primed us for the demolition.
Well said 👍🏻
ok, but next time you post can you list the definitions of some of these words while you are finding them . Just..... at the bottom of your post? If you don't mind too terribly much? Or you could take a couple less puffs from that hog leg b4 you post and just use more common phrases, like "improv" for example. Good day Sir
I actually think that is what elevates a guitarist from simply good or even virtuoso level to something transcendent. It is knowing when NOT to overdo it. I think for Eddie in his early years with van halen he had something to prove and proved he was virtuoso. But I think where Eddie transcended is once he had proven that he played LESS when the sound called for it, and they were all better for it. I think Wolf is tapping in to this and already understands it.
That wicked guitar riff right before the solo, I didn't hear that coming. That late tapping was just icing on the cake. If Eddie was Odin, Wolfgang would definitely be Thor.
Oh my, that solo makes your heart skip a beat.
I love this one! That transition riff is probably the nastiest one I’ve heard from you yet, but I love it! I can’t wait for this album!!!
That solo intro has a little Neal Schon feel to it with a little Satriani inspired touch !!!!
Wow !!!!
Love this track !!!❤❤❤
This album seems HEAVIER than the first one. I need to pick this up. Top work Kiddo!
The first few words in the chorus sound exactly like "Lights Out" by Breaking Benjamin (chorus), Im loving this song and that solo is amazing
Same exact thoughts. Glad it’s a very brief part of the song (and not the entire track) that sounds exactly like something else that already exists. And that solo is downright epic.
