Oblivion is one of my favorite games and this helped take me back to the good old days where the gaming community was much smaller. This era of Bethesda games were so vast, ambitious and buggy, it was always hard to tell what was intended, what wasn't, and what was leftover from development. Would love some more. Thanks.
I love these types of old rumors. The amount of absolute BS that floated around forums back in the day was staggering and hilarious. Great video man, keep up the good work.
That’s what I’ve always appreciated about elder scrolls series. As the player you get first hand experience. Only for the next game, to set 100 years later, and the interpretation of the last game is taken completely out of context (or in the case of Skyrim, the thalmor, straight up took credit for the oblivion crisis ending). Also the books they write for the player to read are also not always true 😂
Another piece of evidence that the Hero of Kvatch appeared in the cell right before the Emperor arrived is that Valen Dreth, who had been in his cell for over a decade, speaks to you as if he's never seen you before. It's possible that you were just a brand new prisoner and it's the first moment away from the guards he could heckle you, but it's strange that he acts like he's seeing you for the first time.
And if that’s the case, then there’s no way he could have known about the fine from personal experience, more likely he just gained that knowledge when he was created.
This made me hop back into Oblivion. Had to go explore the Unmarked Cave myself. I can't wait to see you cover Morrowind! The urban legend / creepypasta that had everyone dead and told you to "Watch the Sky" always fascinated me growing up. It stuck with me even a decade onward.
For some reason that creepy pasta scared the SHIT outta me when I was like 9.Maybe it's cause morrowind was already kinda uncanny at times with all the weird characters who never moved and all the weird things they would say,and of course the music provides a certain vibe.I just remember seeing a video on that creepy pasta and then playing morrowind and being hyper aware of every NPC that told me to watch the skies. When it happened like 3 times in an hour....I was scared shitless.
Honestly, I kind of like the idea that Glarthir wasn't entirely wrong, except he was suspecting the wrong people for the wrong reasons. With his conspiracy theory sort of behavior, I could see him being watched just in case he stumbled across or "made up" evidence of the Count's vampirism. That or he was being watched by the guard because they were worried he might end up doing exactly what he ends up doing and it just made things worse.
@TheLoganM9 Yeah Morihaus Was A Sometimes Human/Sometimes Bull Demigod Some People Think That Makes Him a Minotaur But He Wasn't He Was Either 100% Humanoid or 100% Bull No Inbetween
12:27 "When the game was new a host of rumors appeared but they were eventually disproven with the release of the construction set, allowing players to look behind the curtain." I'ma stop you right there, Chief. Oblivion's Construction Set was available for download on RELEASE DAY, similar to how Morrorwind's PC release contained a disc for its Construction Set in the box. It wasn't until Fallout 3 that they started holding Construction Set/Creation Kit tools back until a period of time after retail release. I suspect that it's because they were still butthurt that in the first couple days, an industrious modder had inspected all the 3D textures in Oblivion's textures.bsa file, and found that the body torso texture that Bethesda had added to support female outfits that show skin, had inexplicably been drawn anatomically correct. This modder then went into the Construction Set, found the record for the 3D Mesh used for the medieval perma-bra wearing torso that the game uses when female characters aren't wearing any outer clothing above the waist, and modded it to overwrite that' mesh's 3D texture with the bare skin texture from the .bsa. This was how Oblivion's first topless mod got released before the game was even a half week old. Of course, the gaming media jumped on the story, and Bethesda countered with "Hey we can't be blamed for whatever 3D meshes third-party modders add into our game." The modder counter-countered with the fact that their mod consisted solely of a .esp file that was only a few KB large, and absolutely no new 3D Meshes or Textures, so it was using assets that shipped with the game. This was later proven correct by someone developing an Action Replay code for the X-Box version of Oblivion that duplicated the effect of the topless mod. And this was hot on the heels of the GTA San Andreas Hot Coffee scandal that had previously prompted the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to issue a notice to game developers and publishers that when submitting video games to get their ESRB Rating, they were required to disclose ALL content on the game disc that's relevant to the rating, even cut content that's not supposed to be accessible through normal gameplay. Since 2KGames distributed both GTA and Oblivion, the game was already on the ESRB's radar, and they asked 2K and Bethesda, "Hey, are you SURE you told us about EVERYTHING on the disc?" It was at that point Bethesda realized that they had maybe played down the blood and gore players may encounter during the Arena and Dark Brotherhood side quests, and put together a new video that more clearly showed the level of violence in the side quests. ESRB decided that Oblivion never should have been rated "T for Teen" and bumped it up to "M for Mature" with a few more content descriptors on the box. By that point, Bethesda had patched out the textures that started this whole mess, replacing them with Barbie Doll versions, so the "Nudity" descriptor was not required by the ESRB to be added. The next game that Bethesda put out on what I call the ElderStarFall Engine was when they made the modding community wait to get an official Construction Set/Creation Kit tool, a practice they've adhered to ever since. Could be a coincidence, but the timing suggests otherwise. Not that this stops the modding community, who have their own third-party modding tools that they simply adapt from whatever the previous game in the series is. In fact the author of the topless mod had used a Morrowind-era BSA Extractor that had been updated to Oblivion's new file headers to extract the contents of ES:IV's textures.bsa. (Yes, I know Bethesda has an official name for the engine, they change it every few years to try to hide the fact that it's simply been a series of incremental upgrades on top of the same tech that ran Morrowind.)
Great comment, and you're absolutely right. Wish I could hop in and amend the script a little to correct that mistake. I remember all the incidents you listed, of course, now that you've brought them up. Ever thought of making videos? You've got the core of a great one right here. Heck you've written half of a script already!
I've always thought that the oversized items in the basement weren't actually oversized, but it was you that'd shrunk. Either actual physical transformation or an illusion.
While not Oblivion related, I had a very odd encounter with M'aiq in Skyrim where I came across him around a pile of bodies of imperial and stormcloak soldiers, where it looked like he just got done drinking the blood from one of them. It was very much a strange encounter.
May not be paranormal or anything but what you stumbled upon was two random encounter spawning at once in one spot, which is incredibly rare! Congratulations!
Have you heard that he is in fact lorkhan, or at least the khajit avatar for lorkhan? They believe that after his heart was torn out and shot into the sea becoming red mountain, his body broken in half and throw into the sky(the two moons), yet still he did not die, for his soul took the form of a witty and clever khajit that was doomed to walk born forever playing tricks on the gullible and wise cracking something fierce. Since he has been in every major elderscrolls since Morrowind it makes him immortal and thus fills the requirements. However lorkhan actually became shor after his heart was torn out, where he created sovengarde as a reward to the wandering elnofey that stood shoulder to shoulder with him against Trinimac. So M'aiq cant be him, unless lorkhan was fragmented in soul as well as in body. Even then the khajit notion of lorkhan is wrong as Vivec proved the original promise of lorkhan (build me nirn and you shall have a deadric realm where even a god, perfect and timeless can ascend) once assumed to have been a cruel trick was proven genuine all along when vivec reached Chim a Post-Divine state above the gods after communing with the heart of lorkhan and learning the cosmic truth of all things within the tower wheel. A lore based 4th wall break. Anyways M'aiq is still some sort of upper being though since he is older than a khajit could ever be(perhaps M'aiq also caught the corpus and scored a swift cure from the neraverine!
@GhostofJamesMadison I think Maiq is a Tom Bombadil type figure, but less removed from the world as a whole. He's not a god, he kind of just *is* and he enjoys appearing when big things are going down in the world, just to meet the people at the centre of events, for no reason but to take their measure in his own way by his own esoteric metrics.
I really love the theory that the Hero of Kvatch has come to being only in that jail. Thank you for telling it to us in the video! I'm really glad I've stumbled upon your channel :)
37:03 in a time before mass media it was possible to not know what someone looked like in that kinda position. Im sure in the 1400's there were several peasants who knew they had a king/emperor but had not the slightest clue what they looked like. Portrat Paintings were uncomon and expensive so not knowing what the emperor looks like makes sense to me.
There is also Sir Lazan in Skingrad; he never leaves his house ever and he tries to insult you when you talk to him, even challenging you to a duel. Other townspeople will sometimes comment on this with rumours and some say they are sick of him. If you go into his house you'll find 2 very odd things. Firstly the floor is higher than it should be, in other words your character floats in mid air rather than standing on the ground. Secondly, in his basement there is a take rat. It's non hostile unless you attack it. But if you DO attack it it's actually ridiculously strong because it levels up with your character the whole time. At level 30+ it can actually kill high level players.
This is what makes Oblivion so much weirder than just the wacky NPCs and whatnot. The wealth of scrapped/hidden lore and gameplay scattered everywhere can be interpreted in different ways... the sinister vs normal vs joking elements that make up parts of the game. Whatever you want to call it, bugginess, jankiness, etc - it still lends to the intended scale of the game and Bethesda's creative ambitions
Absolutely - and I think, also, it creates that totally unique and charming vibe. Nothing else has ever managed it (I mean, no other developer has been able to create this particular flavour - and, in fact, not even Bethesda themselves have managed to totally replicate it - each of their games are variations on a theme, in this way).
i was so surprised to see sutch included in the west weald area in eso, i had always known it was cut from oblivion but didnt think it was still canon to the lore
I had forgotten about this incident until you brought up the stories about the disappearing goblin and teleporting minotaur. When I was a kid, I remember running around the higher-class side of the imperial city when, out of nowhere, a golden saint runs up to some NPC and kills them and then gets taken out by the guards. Not really spooky, but I thought it was very strange, especially since I hadn't started the shivering isles on that character yet.
YES YES some REAL gamer content. You made great vids, bro. We barely get urban legends and playground rumors in games anymore. Everything is immediately datamined and processed. I love these kinds of vids
Yeah, as useful as datamining is, it takes away half the magic of playing a game and then talking about it with friends. In movie terms, something like the multiple endings of Clue would be straight up impossible to pull off today
Very cozy video. This era of gaming was the absolute golden age of rumor-spreading, a blend of schoolyard gossip and the limitless power of the emerging internet.
Woah dude, watched your NVG video the other day and this one came up, was under the impression you were a much bigger channel, love the production value, keep up the great work!
Oooh, I feel bad for whatever video I clicked on before. Was getting settled in when I see in the top of my suggested "The Urban Legends Of Oblivion" And I physically cannot avoid clicking that. It's like, the perfect video for me to watch!
I remember the innkeeper in chorrol has rumours about her doing dodgy stuff, and when you go in her inn’s basement, dungeon music plays. There’s nothing actually there though so maybe a cut quest.
I think that is confirmed cut content because of the rumour topic attached to it. Plus I don't think there's any actual quest associated with the chorrol inn in the base game.
About the Beef topic. There are cows in Elder Scrolls- you can find them in Elder Scrolls 2 Daggerfall. So more than likely, the cows are bred and kept as livestock in High Rock- where the beef is shipped to all corners of Tamriel.
And to add on, Bretons are highly skilled in Magics- So they probably use extensive frost magics to keep the beef preserved during the shipping process
0:13 over the last couple of decades? No oblivion isn't that old. It only came out when I was a kid....realization then set in that I have my own kid and am, in fact, now old.
Really in depth, well made video! Just subbed yesterday, and I gotta say, I love the content. I adore Oblivion so much, it’s been my favourite game forever! I’ve watched so many videos on cut content and secrets and that kinda stuff in the game, and yet I still saw some things I’d never seen before here!! That’s the real magic of the game, somehow, there’s always more to discover. Thanks! ❤
Sutch is my favourite peice of cut content, it's so cool that you can visit it in ESO and that the devs over at ZOS included it and pay homage to the coimmunty's love for it.
I've had the Minotaur teleport behind me in the Arena too ! Thank you so much for your work, it was a pleasure to listen to your voice while doing boring chores in the house
I also remember finding evidence that Glarthir was indeed being plotted against although I don't remember what it was. The game however does not allow you to solve the issue without a murder spree which really devaluates the quest, causing me to never even start it.
When I was a kid, on TES forums where I was hanging out there used to be a rumour that you can save Lucien Lachance. If you visit him in the Applewatch at a very specific moment, you can save him and he won't die! And if you did all of this and he still dies, you weren't fast enough, and it's your own fault. People even shared their screenshots of happy alive Lucien, to prove that they saved him. And I, as a little child, believed them :(
Great video! I wonder if myths like this are still possible, when hardcore gamers on twitch and youtube quickly play through everything within the first few days/weeks of release. On the one hand, I like videos like this, because I don't have as much time to play videogames anymore, but still love learning about the lore and world of TES. On the other hand, the more the videos go into the process of making the game and what unanswered questions all end up being the result of cut content or game-creation logistics, the less mystery remains... Still, great videos! Keep up the good work!
I dont know how many of these you read. But ill tell you something, I found this video due to youtubes recommendations (i frequent lore videos and bethesda content) and i enjoyed this one a lot, i went and watched your New vegas video the most recent one about the same topic. and it was also very good. I see the large time gap between your recent videos and the fallout 3 And i have to say your videos have immensely improved, these recent videos are great on their own and a huge jump in quality from the older content i skimmed, i hope you see your own growth and keep making more
I read everything and at this stage I can still manage to respond to everything - that’ll get harder if the channel grows a lot more of course! So I’m glad you sent this now so I did get a chance to see it easily! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me you noticed this - yep, I had a combo of some minor health issues and also thought I might take some time to recalculate what I was doing… and it does seem to have worked, on my return - which I’m immensely pleased about! I do think life is all about growth and change and adapting, so yeah it’s been a bit of a journey so far and will continue to be! To me the audience is the most important thing - that, and my authentic love for this stuff. No hustle, just content - and making sure it gets better and better! Thank you for this, I really appreciate it. ❤️
A nice bit of unintentional wordplay comedy at 6:20: SOS: "But for me, the absolute coolest piece of cut content of Oblivion is such. What is it?" Viewer: I don't know! You were telling me!
So... about the Champion himself He is a Shezarin. Not from the start, but he becomes one during The Knights of the Nine main storyline as he mantels someone who was already Shezarin But, here where an interesting connection comes in: Sheogorath is described in one of the books as "Sithis-shaped hole" And so the Champion (who is the avatar of Shezar, who is an aspect of Lorkhan, a direct creation of Sithis) steps in place of Sheogorath, "filling" the Sithis-shaped hole
I've had the "teleporting" Enemy happen. It happened on PS3 twice. Both outdoors near dungeons where enemies are. I've put maybe 120 hours on PS3, but i believe it is just a rendering issue. I've played Oblivion on PC 200+ hours and never seen anything like it. Also, you have a good voice for this. Subbed.
I miss the days of gaming before the internet, everything felt so unique and mysterious, so many old games had these type of rumors or myths about them, and you'd talk about it with your friends and just end up generating even more rumors from it, games have no mystique to them when you can just google everything
When I was younger I was actually so curious about Nerastarel's House I reached out to several of the developers responsible for Skingrad. Unfortunately I never heard back 😔 I suppose we will never know its origins
I found something on the xbox version, it was a island off to the far left of the map You had to go out of bounds at the mages guild through the floating paint brush glitch My uncle found it through hours of just exploring, he showed me how he found it It was a infinite ocean after you get so far, he had water walking boots on so he could speed through Well after a while floating bits of grass would appear and they allowed you to stand on them then after a while of walking on floating grass you come across a castle with a single door It led to like some debug map or something but it wouldnt let you out so I figured it was a leftover debug asset
I adore the idea of there being a hidden Goblin Assassin in the files. I mean, after all, if you could see him in the files and know he exists, he wouldn't be a very good assassin.
The theory for the deep ones I personally subscribe to is that they're powerful Daedra connected to Molag Bal. He did invade Cyrodil so it's not too unlikely that some of his stronger minions could be sealed away there. Also Etira Moslin will have a disposition of 100 if you approach her as a vampire, and Molag Bal is the creator of Vampires.
The massive double-take I did when you mentioned the necrophilia voicelines. I totally forgot! I kept thinking you meant "necromancy". I can't believe it
I think its just as likely the ID tag of the goblin assassin one might actually not be named Goblin Assassin. Even though the stuff in the creation engine is NORMALLY well organized, there's a few things that have weird classifications and are harder to spot, especially if its a triggered or scripted random spawn that doesn't have a natural placement block, or they do and just travel away from it
Fantastic video. :D Rumors and urban legends in video games are so fun, and I spent years of my life exploring them in Oblivion as a kid. I'm still waiting on a game to come out to hit me like Oblivion did.
I too miss that feeling - honestly, I absolutely loved the era of Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas. I love all these types of games but that specific era was like pinnacle for me. Maybe it was the age I was at the time or something… the fact the internet was a bit more Wild West. Some combo of all of it made it feel more magical. And - thank you for your kind words 🙂
@shadesofslay I couldn't agree more, my friend. My favorite era of gaming and the Internet as well! There was certainly a wildness and a whimsy to it, I agree. Bless, my friend!
Too be honest, the skingrad house could have been orginal tied too the mages guild questline and abandonded for various reasons. It was always kind of weird too me that we met his steward in a random part of a field outside the city and not somewhere more private. Also weird that the count would leave his castle like that where he could possibly be seen.
Ummm,,,,, Aacchuacthuahuathauallyllyy, it's speculated that Septimus Zero-Summed, which is what happens when you learn of the true nature of the world without the preparation necessary to achieve CHIM.
I was pre-empting what happened on my Terry Pratchett video where I mispronounced a character modded into the game, and it was mentioned many times in the comments haha
One thing I'd actually like to see would be remakes for all the elder scrolls games by Bethesda. With missing lore added, cities and towns that feel like the proper size, and a dedication to getting the overall feel right for each game. This might be impossible with arena given it's scope, but daggerfall could be redone with a bigger focus on main areas and actual quests rather than random ones... Idk
It’d be an easy buck for them too - if you look at what was done with Fallout London by independent creators, you’d think a huge studio would be able to crank out updated versions fairly easily in comparison!
i finished oblivion about 2 hours ago and my god, i played skyrim first and it was so different. by the end of it, I really liked it. it has a very 2006 charm
I remember watching those 2008 youtube oblivion mod videos not knowing what a mod was and scouring every inch of the maps trying to find a dragon (I thought if there’s a unicorn in the game there’s gotta be a dragon somewhere) Also the pet shop mods, the akiviri bear pet. I remember somehow glitching the control creature spell and controlling some of the npc’s dogs longer than the spell lasted and pretending they were my pets 😂 good times
Skyrim has the best scenery for Elder Scrolls but Oblivion has some of my favorite fantasy lore almost matching Legacy of Kain a game doesn't have to be perfect to have a awesome story damn your voice works perfectly for fantasy lore investigation or sword and blade RUclipsr
After I completed the knights of the nine quest this guy called Corrodus followed me around forever. I couldn’t excuse him. He followed me until every piece of armour and weapons broke. Then he just followed me around naked no matter how many things I gave him to use…. Truly pissed me offf
So from what I understand, that's a very common bug! If you recruit one of the knights as a follower and then don't let them go get their gear they wig out and become a permanent follower. I had it happen with the high elf? lady on my PS3 save.
@@Crunkman2k oh shit really?! Wow… And just the fact his name was Corrodus- as in, corrodes you game file with a permanent naked man swinging fist was just too much lol
39:53 Fairly sure this is a normal and intended failsafe present in Oblivion and Skyrim, probably in Fallout 3 onwards too. If an NPC can't find a valid navmeshed path to its target because it's obstructed, usually by another NPC, it can teleport to the next valid chunk of navmesh that should let it continue moving. Usually that means a very short distance that makes it look like it's juddering in and out of existence. How consistent this is though, no idea. It seems easiest to force in Skyrim with body blocking NPCs in narrow spaces, but the system is temperamental at best. I think it can also only occur if there is a theoretically contiguous navmesh path that the AI knows it's meant to be able to walk through but is being prevented from doing so by something it can't figure out, so it will teleport the NPC further along that same path but not move it crazily to some other navmesh tile that's far away or disconnected from the one its currently occupying.
Really appreciate the video and you're speaking voice. As per the last theory, I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of cows is To prevent issues when selling to the india market. Cows are sacred in their culture and if you had a game that would let you murder cows, that would be a huge problem for international sales. If they just don't program them or have them in the game They don't need to make assets, audio, pathing packages, etc.
Y'know what, that's a damn good theory! I wonder if they modified later games for other markets... hmm. Got me thinking! And also, thanks for your kind words :)
@shadesofslay of course. Yeah look up brahman from fallout 3 in india. I THINK they were fully removed in the indian version but theu already existed in the lore/universe as there's quests in F2 To protect them, exploding brahman random encounter, the text saying sometimes a single headed one is born (aka a cow). I haven't played morrowind or daggerfall to know if there are cows canonically in game/universe. But there are cows in Skyrim...
@@tekno4blood Bloody good idea that. I have pretty much the next year plotted out, but you may see it pop up! And if so, make sure to remind me where the idea came from so I can pin the comment!
I imagine the hero of kvatch was normal until he journeyed inside dozens of oblivion gates fighting demonic horrors. Could easily see how that can drive a man insane

The engine isnt even theirs, its a modded gamebryo/netimmerse engine.
Just got off my night shift and this is my go to video 😂 great vid bro keep it up( you also gained a new sub )
Love this! It's what I myself mostly use YT for as well - I stick on some fave lore video and chill, and then can sleep more easily!
I've always thought that the oversized items in the basement weren't actually oversized, but it was you that'd shrunk. Either actual physical transformation or an illusion.
Does that mean the guards are shrunk as well??
@@shadesofslay id assume its just. literally oversized items for Artistic purposes, showing off "look how opulent we are"
While not Oblivion related, I had a very odd encounter with M'aiq in Skyrim where I came across him around a pile of bodies of imperial and stormcloak soldiers, where it looked like he just got done drinking the blood from one of them. It was very much a strange encounter.
Sounds like the start of a horror story!
May not be paranormal or anything but what you stumbled upon was two random encounter spawning at once in one spot, which is incredibly rare! Congratulations!
@@Nuniixothis. Maiq was probably just doing that "dead body check" animation that guards sometimes do.
Now, this is what I love about this game. I've been playing for 17 years, and some of this is new knowledge to me! Excellent video. Keep it up!
Thank you - and will do!
I really love the theory that the Hero of Kvatch has come to being only in that jail. Thank you for telling it to us in the video! I'm really glad I've stumbled upon your channel :)
You’re welcome! And I’m glad you’ve stumbled across it too 🙂
37:03 in a time before mass media it was possible to not know what someone looked like in that kinda position. Im sure in the 1400's there were several peasants who knew they had a king/emperor but had not the slightest clue what they looked like. Portrat Paintings were uncomon and expensive so not knowing what the emperor looks like makes sense to me.
That's a pretty good point, I suppose.
Great bit of detail there, thanks for sharing this!
I love the deep cuts like this - I used to play ESO, may have to give it another go and explore the world again...
Bringing back memories eh! And - that’s exactly the kind of mad potential that makes me love these games even more.
YES YES some REAL gamer content. You made great vids, bro. We barely get urban legends and playground rumors in games anymore. Everything is immediately datamined and processed. I love these kinds of vids
Thank you! I will keep these types of videos coming!
Yeah, as useful as datamining is, it takes away half the magic of playing a game and then talking about it with friends. In movie terms, something like the multiple endings of Clue would be straight up impossible to pull off today
@@Nuniixo 100%!
I love that the picture of Kirkbride eating bead is the most appropriate picture of Kirkbride we have
Ha, yeah - I love that photo!
Very cozy video. This era of gaming was the absolute golden age of rumor-spreading, a blend of schoolyard gossip and the limitless power of the emerging internet.
Cozy - I'm glad you felt that vibe! Big part of what I'm going for!
Oblivion? A fellow Scot? Subscribed
Woah dude, watched your NVG video the other day and this one came up, was under the impression you were a much bigger channel, love the production value, keep up the great work!
Still growing - will get there eventually! And thank you 🙂
Oooh, I feel bad for whatever video I clicked on before. Was getting settled in when I see in the top of my suggested "The Urban Legends Of Oblivion" And I physically cannot avoid clicking that. It's like, the perfect video for me to watch!
I guess it found the perfect audience, which is brilliant! :)
I love the fact Oblivion still lives on to this year... it's such a great and nostalgic game.. you just got a new sub, keep up the great content :)
Thank you :) the game lives forever with me.
It's truly one of the best games, no matter how outdated it may be :)
@ 💯
i love that people are still making in depth content on these games in 2024
There’s so much to talk about 🙂
I remember the innkeeper in chorrol has rumours about her doing dodgy stuff, and when you go in her inn’s basement, dungeon music plays. There’s nothing actually there though so maybe a cut quest.
More than likely!
I think that is confirmed cut content because of the rumour topic attached to it. Plus I don't think there's any actual quest associated with the chorrol inn in the base game.
i wonder if the dungeon music plays because the hero of kvatch expects some danger inside that place @@DriftedVisionMan
Cyrodiil is like the perfect environment for cows though! It's crazy!

Thanks! ❤
You're most welcome - I'm hoping the continuing uploads have surprises for you as well!
Sutch is my favourite peice of cut content, it's so cool that you can visit it in ESO and that the devs over at ZOS included it and pay homage to the coimmunty's love for it.
I'm gonna have to dust off my ESO sub and explore it again...
I distinctly remember a guard pulling me aside into dialogue and warning me to not encourage Glarthirs paranoia and to leave well alone.
Finally a youtuber with a funny accent that's also able to be understood! Love Oblivion, good video
Yep, I had to appear eventually!
19:49 considering how out of place the characters' behaviour would be to the npc norm, the character is most certainly mad.
Really good video, im an oblivion nerd so it makes me happy to see people still making videos about it
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Dude you have a very relaxing and chill tone of voice. This video has a nice ambient vibe.

I've had the Minotaur teleport behind me in the Arena too !
Thank you so much for your work, it was a pleasure to listen to your voice while doing boring chores in the house
That pesky Minotaur eh! And no problem, I'm glad it helped pass the time :)
"Erm... He's right behind me isn't he?"
@@GrimmDawn8487 😆
And I, as a little child, believed them :(
I wish he could have been saved! I absolutely love Lucien!!
and it's laid to rest in skyrim
Great video! I wonder if myths like this are still possible, when hardcore gamers on twitch and youtube quickly play through everything within the first few days/weeks of release. On the one hand, I like videos like this, because I don't have as much time to play videogames anymore, but still love learning about the lore and world of TES. On the other hand, the more the videos go into the process of making the game and what unanswered questions all end up being the result of cut content or game-creation logistics, the less mystery remains...
Still, great videos! Keep up the good work!
Thank you - and yep that’s the thing isn’t it! Knowing kills mystery, but mystery is so tantalising.
A nice bit of unintentional wordplay comedy at 6:20:
SOS: "But for me, the absolute coolest piece of cut content of Oblivion is such. What is it?"
Viewer: I don't know! You were telling me!
Def unintentional haha!
absolute kino, never even played oblivion but this hits the spot
I’m glad to hear it 😁
Literally go download it for free anywhere any pc can run it on Max settings
So... about the Champion himself
He is a Shezarin. Not from the start, but he becomes one during The Knights of the Nine main storyline as he mantels someone who was already Shezarin
But, here where an interesting connection comes in:
Sheogorath is described in one of the books as "Sithis-shaped hole"
And so the Champion (who is the avatar of Shezar, who is an aspect of Lorkhan, a direct creation of Sithis) steps in place of Sheogorath, "filling" the Sithis-shaped hole
Subbed.
Thank you, I really appreciate that :)
omg please dont stop making these this was SO entertaining!!
I have MANY more to come, don't worry!
Ohhh let's gooo! The absolute legend dropped a new vid!

Couriers in Oblivion? I don't think Tamriel could survive the chaos that would ensue...
*Takes a sip from your trusty Vault 13 canteen*
Ha! LOVE this.
I found something on the xbox version, it was a island off to the far left of the map
You had to go out of bounds at the mages guild through the floating paint brush glitch
My uncle found it through hours of just exploring, he showed me how he found it
It was a infinite ocean after you get so far, he had water walking boots on so he could speed through
Well after a while floating bits of grass would appear and they allowed you to stand on them then after a while of walking on floating grass you come across a castle with a single door
It led to like some debug map or something but it wouldnt let you out so I figured it was a leftover debug asset
To clarify it was a single watch tower thing like at the corner of castles on a single island just kinda pulled out from the bottom of the ocean
Thanks for sharing this - I may have to try and give this a go in a future video!
Bout to tcl in the Anvil mages guild and see what I can find.
I adore the idea of there being a hidden Goblin Assassin in the files. I mean, after all, if you could see him in the files and know he exists, he wouldn't be a very good assassin.
Love this. Meta narrative!
Really good watch. I didn't know about quite a few of these despite playing through Oblivion multiple times.

Almost like Balrogs in Tolkien…
a random whatever-arrine appearing in a cell exactly when he needs to be to meet the emperor and start on his quest is very TES tbh

I cant imagine a more “hell yeah” video yet tbh
The massive double-take I did when you mentioned the necrophilia voicelines. I totally forgot! I kept thinking you meant "necromancy". I can't believe it
It’s kinda crazy that it was mentioned 😂
I think its just as likely the ID tag of the goblin assassin one might actually not be named Goblin Assassin. Even though the stuff in the creation engine is NORMALLY well organized, there's a few things that have weird classifications and are harder to spot, especially if its a triggered or scripted random spawn that doesn't have a natural placement block, or they do and just travel away from it
I'd just be curious to know exactly what it was they'd seen!
Absolutely brilliant piece of work.
Thank you, I appreciate that :)
I think the oversized artifats are remnants of the second emperor Belharza, who was a minotaur. Son of Morihaus and Alessia
Yeah, someone else was saying this as well!
Too be honest, the skingrad house could have been orginal tied too the mages guild questline and abandonded for various reasons. Oh hey - been subbed to you for quite some time!
Absolutely - I think "charming" is probably my number 1 descriptive word choice for Oblivion!

Hard to believe you missed the Anvil Mermaid, that was all the rage on GameFAQs back in the day.
Indeed, I wasn't aware of that story - must have missed it somehow even back in the day. I may do a follow up with anything I've missed...
@shadesofslay of course.
