Another collection, a little bit earlier than planned. But as I am scrambling to recover some footage which went lost when my drive short-circuited I figured this may be a nice thing to move up.
you cant go wrong with some eggs fried up over easy sunny side anytime of day protein
Ll
8 years!? Time flies... Here's to 8 more! 🥂
🥃 🎉
The lengthy lore videos are a treat because we learn a lot.
Stroganoff has been something ive been having a fair bit lately
Beef Stroking off In a field
I think the Painted Worlds is actually a prank and secretly influenced by Sheogorath because he is the Daedric Prince of artworks, musics, creativity, and inspiration. There is a story where he proved to Vaermina that he was also the god of inspiration, imagination, and innovation, concepts of motivation that makes mortals yearn to create and build, without which, they would go mad and become misanthropic and self-loathing.
Dang you have a point, Sheogorath is claimed to have created music. Perhaps it could be Daedric then, although Sheogorath is much more complex than the usual Daedric gods. He is just as much if not more of an anomaly even compared to the Elder Scrolls themselves. But at that point you are talkin about time and space, the possibility of impossibility, alternate timelines and universes, etc etc. Once you go far enough down the rabbithole you just freefall. lol I like the thought though of it being a Daedric item but I still think it is most likely Aedric, as it is primarily used in a "good vibes" scenarios even at its initial creation and giving to mortals. Very interesting. But now my brain is burning out 😂
Shepherd's Pie! I was once stationed in England and really enjoyed it and brought it home with me.
Hamburgers with slightly different ingredients and seasoning for variations.
Favorite food: Hibachi chicken with fried rice and veggies. A side of tempura veggies is also delicious too. When my partner and I treat ourselves, we go to Sapporo’s restaurant and this is what I always get. Sometimes we see the show of the chef preparing the food on the hibachi grill, but honestly, the experience is great even without the show. The restaurant is always a balm on my autistic sensory overload, being quiet and dimly lit, and the food is fantastic.
Same
I own giant cabbage seeds from Sapporo Japan! Cheers! Ofren went to a hibachi place called Mt. Fuji, and would see the Hardy Brothers from the wrestling world there a lot.
👍
Chicken, rice and broccoli. Keep up the Great work!
could you make a video shedding some light on the situation in the Summerset Isles specifically in the third era? Apart from the rise of the Thalmor pre Crisis, the Oblivion Criris and the War of the Isle, i feel like we really don't know much in what state the Isles are in that period. I'd imagine they would be far from the glistening, shimmering paradise they were in the Second Era, especially after the Numidium. Plus, with the Imperial occupation, some elvish names changed to tamrielic like you pointed out last time (Sil-Var-Woad to Silver Wood).
Wake up babe! Imperial Knowledge dropped another 1h+ video!!
I love how descriptive u are with all these. U made me feel like I'm a part of some adventurer guild in the universe and I'm attending some lecture before an adventure.
8 full years of discussing Elder Scrolls lore? Jesus, I'm impressed there's that much to talk about. A lot of love for the franchise, shame how little of it we get to see from the rights owners.
Another collection!! Fuck yeah!
Tx u very much. The Graven Deep lore was something really interesting. I was curious about that place long time ago. 🤟🙂
I've always liked zoos and I feel that the alinor zoo would be amazing to visit, the idea of it literally taking days to explore sounds awesome
I will never get tired of a video from you Imp, great job as always.
People like you keeping the lore alive 10 yrs after the last major release make me truly happy.
I can’t wait till the next Tes game, your content is gonna go wild hahaha.
Sounds likebyou respect him enough. So don't call him Imp, bro
@@PlayerOfGames23 I’ve been saying it for about 5 years now and not once has he taken offense to it. Look for smoke somewhere else brethren.
You needn't worry - i watched this all the day till the end (and i'm certain I'm one of many) and went re-exploring the places you mention in Elder scrolls online. Thank you so much for all the work you put into your videos.
New video to fall asleep to for a few weeks
Glad as always for more lore. Have you considered a video on the different fashions(clothing) on Tamriel? Maybe through the different games, the materials used create clothing/ armor or real-world influences by region?
Damn it's crazy that your at 90k now dude! I've been following since the 1k mark! Congrats
I keep getting unsubbed 😢
I was actually telling a friend just a few hours ago, there's a certain brand of spicy ramen I enjoy specifically while watching your videos.
why would I wanna skip IK's intro, itsthe best part
Love this style of lore collection, i know it’s hard work for you but so entertaining for us :p. BTW my favorite food is all types of noodles
Just discovered your channel , good stuff keep up the good work!
A couple things...
- In regards to the scale of the zoo in ESO, that's a game thing. Video games, whether due to hardware limitations or lack of development time, often have to represent populations proportionally. Elder Scrolls is famous for this with cities like the Imperial City being occupied by a handful of people per district and most towns being nothing more than a few shops, a couple houses, and keep or castle. In reality, if these places were represented in lore, they'd be 100x times bigger than what they are, which is difficult to expect a dev team to hand make rarher than representing those populations proportionally.
- For the painted worlds, I imagine it's a singular plane that acts almost like an Etch-A-Sketch. It's functionally a blank canvas. When the portal to that realm is closed, it creates a snap shot of the view from where the physical canvas sits, like a camera. As far as the origin of True Paint, I like the Clavicus Vile theory. For gits and shiggles, I'd also like to throw Vaermina's name into the ring. I have no solid reasoning, but illusions and other such things definitely feel like a them thing.
Videos like this are a godsend sometimes! lol its 6 am and I can't sleep
Stroganoff. Though the Snowberry Crostata from the official cookbook is quite delicious.
ugh your videos are amazing dude
Haha said branches exactly like that wood elf giving the tour of Elden root 🤣
Love your work man 🤟🏻
i love ramen!! and your videos are top tier
My current favorite is making braised tofu with oyster sauce with veggies and rice with either soft boiled or poached eggs on top.
One of my favorite cakes is a slightly modified version of a recipe of an apple oatmeal cake from an old Quaker Oats book. I'll just edit this comment with the recipe later since I'm baking it today, but if I remember it right, it has 3 cubed apples, a good amount of cinnamon, 1 and 1/2 cups of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, 1 cup of flour, 2 cups of fine oatmeal. It's really sweet and it is a real lifesaver when some of your apples have gone from chunchy to munchy
After your post about the data loss I was wondering when the next video would be up. I hope you didn't push yourself too hard to get this made and published! Good luck with the other data!!
long form video lets gooooooooooo
Always shocking to see just how much content teso has, so much of this lore would be lost if not for teso.
Shrimp Tacos and great video as always!
Tuna Bowl, salad kit from the store - single tuna steak, seared not cooked - avocado chopped up, some fried onions, some raspberry vinagrette, and some seasame oil. Mm mm mm. So tasty. Very healthy too
I like how Thaddeus Cosma in ESO wears an Imperial Mananaut helm.
A neat collection review of some regional locations from both older and more recent videos.
Also, to answer that random query, I don't have a specific favorite type of food.
Thanks!
Lately i been into just good ol standard sandwhiches. Classics never go out of style
I think the Painted Worlds and the Brush itself cannot be of Daedric origin, because Daedra are unable to create so to speak, and only destroy. The products of change, revolution, etc. Im not a lore expert so this is simply one small window of perception of a 360 degree circle of a multitude of colors of perception but you already know that. Of course nothing is ever black and white so I wont say I straight up refuse to believe the brush could be Daedric, but I definitely would bet it is not. Even Aedric artefacts can be harmful is wielded improperly or unjustly, for example Auriel's Bow, as a rough example anyway. Love your videos, thank you for 8 years of scholarly dedication, I cant believe its been 8 years already. I remember when the channel was only a year and some old, hard to believe its been that long already. Love the compilations too, very useful 💪😉👌
Bro I wanna play in akavir so bad. It has so much potential to build off of.
Im pretty sure it was concluded that the Dragon got there using a time breach that teleported several things into Blackreach.
Its a quest in ESO.
Obviously it's Pizza al Fungi.
Though for the Dwemer I wonder if the cheese is vegan or Goat. And where do they get the tomato sauce? More lore is needed on this :)
Did you know there were a few Kothringis that survive the Knahaten Flu because they were prisoners one Amenos by the time of the pandemic. You can encounter them as ennemies at the Green Seprent Getaway in the High Isle.
But they were probably to few for the race to survive on the long term.
I prefer the Tsciaese to be Humans and the depiction of them being Man-Serpent vampires was there to just scare the people of Tamriel into hating them. After the Potentate they were never viewed in a good light, I mean what better way to dehumanize your enemy than literally take their humanity away and paint them as savage beasts that would kill and consume your own.
Harkon has a Tsaesci-Blade
Imperial Knowledge video! Gang gang.
A blessing!
As you wish my dude. Haven't tasted it yet, but I am somewhat craving creme treats and sweet rolls because of Skyrim
Really wanna learn how to bake em eventually
If you buy the Skyrim cookbook it has recipe of both those treats
I’ve never really been a very decisive person about things like this, but I’ll never say no to some good popcorn
Potage le Magnifique
F
Hurt soup
... don't forget the greatest of ingredients... Jarrin root
Nothing better than a big ol' bloody steak.
I love apples - I always in the mood for an apple. As for dinner, a caprese salad is good.
The music is louder than your voice at parts, but the video still kicks ass (also I love a genuine Philly cheesesteak)
24:03 my favourite word
Eggsageration
Pretty sure the Fallenesti disappearance is twofold.
1. Fallenesti would be a nightmare to code. Make it disappear.
2. The Imga, while hilarious, are an awkward concept. Especially with how sensitive everyone seems to be about media. Make them disappear.
The quests at the sights are a nod to it. An acknowledgement of it. And a nuce bonus to the main plan.
The Dwemer had to put their greatest minds together just to mimic a fraction of the dragon born’s power.
Onion Rings via a air fryer.
great vids
Now another weird thing for me about the "Painted Worlds" is the painting you find in Daggerfall which is... weird and also unexplained.
It shows the killing of King Lysandus over and over like a bit of film on repeat. It is, effectively, the only piece of evidence connecting Lord Woodborn of Wayrest as Lysandus's killer. And they just keep it inside Castle Wayrest's dungeon.
Why? Who made it? Why don't they destroy it? How is it like the only moving painting I've ever seen/heard of in the Elder Scrolls? No clue. Nothing about the game ever explains or comments on it beyond what it is. A painting that is apparently a film on repeat of the murder specifically.
I always wondered if things like the "Brush with Death" quest and Truepaint was somehow linked to that. It's just such an oddity in that it's the only other painting even close to being "Animated" I ever saw. With the trolls and everyone inside it able to move around. Was the painting itself some kind of like Soul Trapped version of a memory? Why would someone do that? Heck WHO would do something like that?
It's one of those nagging mysteries that remains with me years later, kind of like Skyrim's Necromancer Bounty Contact. Which if you don't know what I mean about that... well most I think know there's that "Hired Thug" random encounter if you steal enough from an NPC, 3 heavily armored nords coming at you to murder the crap out of you with a contract for them to take you, dead or alive, signed by the person who you stole from.
Now I first ran into this encounter by "Anise", of Anise's Cabin outside of Riverwood. Someone I killed before I took anything marked as Owned/Would be Stealing from her Cabin. She was dead before I ever robbed her. And yet the contract is specifically for the theft and not the murder.
Meaning I suppose out there in Skyrim somewhere is a necromaner/channeler/diviner who basically contacts dead people to say "Hey, did someone rob your place after you died? Do you want to hire some thugs I have to track them down and kill them? Just sign this note with your Ghost Pen and pay me in Ghost Gold" or something.
I know intellectually it's just because there's probably nothing in the script saying "Is NPC X Dead? They can't trigger Hired Thug Encounter", so it's completely unrelated. But I always liked the implication of that and it was my first encounter with it.
Though back to Truepaint? I kind of believe it might be an artifact of Dibella. Keep in mind the "Unreliable Narrator" wasn't so much a thing in Oblivion lore (only in what it carried over from Daggerfall). At least that I saw. But beyond that... I always got the impression that the Daedra can't really create things. They can change things. They can warp things. They can destroy things. But they don't create things. Maybe it's just me reading too much into things or what they do. But it's the Aedra that seem to have created everything in the Elder Scrolls. Nirn, Oblivion, Aetherius, Mortals, life, etc.
Even the Daedric Artifacts I kind of wonder if they actually created them so much. Like we don't really know where most of them come from of course. The lore is just "They've appeared a lot through history". But we do know Aedra Artifacts do exist (like the Bow of Auriel, Phynaster's Ring, etc) and were created by them. And the two Daedric Artifacts we actually know the Origins of (that I recall)... was that it was a Dwemer Warhammer that got corrupted over time by Malacath into Volundrung, and a Dwemer shield that became Peryite's Spellbreaker. One might say we see the Savior's Hide being created out of Sinding's skin (ew) in Skyrim, but the Savior's hide predates Sinding as well making me wonder if there was some original creation outside the Daedra for it (particularly since it's original use was to allow you to defeat Mehrunes Dagon in Battlespire).
Stillrise is interesting to me. I mean Bethesda in general (And Zenimax it seems) takes the view that death is ultimately a good thing. Goes back to Fallout 3 where in Tranquility Lane the "Good Karma" ending is to absolutely positively murder everyone but Braun for good. While I believe more in the continuity of life and the generation of hope and change. Just as the Warriors had learned to turn their "Curse" into a gift and found new purpose, there's little stopping everyone else from doing the same. So long as they're alive (for standards of alive) there is always the chance their situation can improve. That they can adapt. That they can turn a negative into a positive.
But once they're dead, they're dead. That ends. There is nothing else good that can come from it. So I would have chosen stasis myself. But I understand those who wouldn't. For example when I was 5 my Grandfather tried to get me to kill him because of his failing medical condition and him thinking his life was over. And that's a hard (and for me, haunting) thing to deal with. For him, there was no hope. He had about 15 different forms of cancer and basically every major organ was failing leaving him alive only through the grace of machines with no hope of recovery.
But that's not the situation when talking about a case like Stillrise. This isn't an unending agony from which there's no escape or hope of recovery. We've seen people recover basically in new found purpose and culture. So it's a lot more shades of grey for me than the black and white that Bethesda generally depicts such things.
My favorite type of food? Mostly apple based stuff. Applesauce, apple cider, apples plain, apple pie, apple cobbler, apple butter...
I'm pretty sure I've seen something that could be resembling a dock in blackreach but I would have to check up on that, also I personally like the theory of the dragon and the giant being teleported there by the malfunctioning device that you fix in ESO and that they just simply stayed there until Skyrim
Also, rice with apples and apple moos and bit of cinnamon damn I need to cook that now that I think about it xD
Are these collection videos compilations of previous videos or are the topics revoiced just for the collection video?
I like sushi.

Man, ESO has some AMAZING places and its sad that most elder scroll channels are preooccupied with the older games
