Another collection, a little bit earlier than planned. But as I am scrambling to recover some footage which went lost when my drive short-circuited I figured this may be a nice thing to move up.
i finally have a theory for how the theif got in to Rythes room, its never explained in the quest and that didn't sit right with me, i think Rythe decided to paint a thief and it backfire
I think the Painted Worlds is actually a prank and secretly influenced by Sheogorath because he is the Daedric Prince of artworks, musics, creativity, and inspiration. There is a story where he proved to Vaermina that he was also the god of inspiration, imagination, and innovation, concepts of motivation that makes mortals yearn to create and build, without which, they would go mad and become misanthropic and self-loathing.
Dang you have a point, Sheogorath is claimed to have created music. Perhaps it could be Daedric then, although Sheogorath is much more complex than the usual Daedric gods. He is just as much if not more of an anomaly even compared to the Elder Scrolls themselves. But at that point you are talkin about time and space, the possibility of impossibility, alternate timelines and universes, etc etc. Once you go far enough down the rabbithole you just freefall. lol I like the thought though of it being a Daedric item but I still think it is most likely Aedric, as it is primarily used in a "good vibes" scenarios even at its initial creation and giving to mortals. Very interesting. But now my brain is burning out 😂
@@svenrio8521 Its all unreliable narrator so it usually just comes down to who you want to believe and how much of any story is the truth. Only Todd knows. And Todd, aint talkin.
The Painted World was created by Ariamis, and eventually recreated by Ariandel. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I've gotta find some way to cross lore between my favorite games/series
I had nothing in the cupboard but noodles , gravy mix and nothing in the fridge but ground beef and slightly expired sour cream . I fried the meat, boiled some water and made a little gravy then placed it on top of the noodles and was just going to eat it that way but something told me to try a little bit of sour cream. Tasted just like Stroganof . I now eat it regularly . You're welcome.
8 full years of discussing Elder Scrolls lore? Jesus, I'm impressed there's that much to talk about. A lot of love for the franchise, shame how little of it we get to see from the rights owners.
Favorite food: Hibachi chicken with fried rice and veggies. A side of tempura veggies is also delicious too. When my partner and I treat ourselves, we go to Sapporo’s restaurant and this is what I always get. Sometimes we see the show of the chef preparing the food on the hibachi grill, but honestly, the experience is great even without the show. The restaurant is always a balm on my autistic sensory overload, being quiet and dimly lit, and the food is fantastic.
I own giant cabbage seeds from Sapporo Japan! Cheers! Ofren went to a hibachi place called Mt. Fuji, and would see the Hardy Brothers from the wrestling world there a lot.
could you make a video shedding some light on the situation in the Summerset Isles specifically in the third era? Apart from the rise of the Thalmor pre Crisis, the Oblivion Criris and the War of the Isle, i feel like we really don't know much in what state the Isles are in that period. I'd imagine they would be far from the glistening, shimmering paradise they were in the Second Era, especially after the Numidium. Plus, with the Imperial occupation, some elvish names changed to tamrielic like you pointed out last time (Sil-Var-Woad to Silver Wood).
You needn't worry - i watched this all the day till the end (and i'm certain I'm one of many) and went re-exploring the places you mention in Elder scrolls online. Thank you so much for all the work you put into your videos.
I will never get tired of a video from you Imp, great job as always. People like you keeping the lore alive 10 yrs after the last major release make me truly happy. I can’t wait till the next Tes game, your content is gonna go wild hahaha.

Glad as always for more lore. Have you considered a video on the different fashions(clothing) on Tamriel? Maybe through the different games, the materials used create clothing/ armor or real-world influences by region?
I was weirdly aware of a lot of these places and the stories associated with them. I haven't played Elder Scrolls in quite sometime and this was a great video to jog my memory of why I loved it.
A neat collection review of some regional locations from both older and more recent videos. Also, to answer that random query, I don't have a specific favorite type of food.
late comment, but the 'companions meatball bake' and 'potato cheddar soup' from the skyrim cookbook has been some of the best food ive cooked in a while (mostly since ive just been eating fast food).
After your post about the data loss I was wondering when the next video would be up. I hope you didn't push yourself too hard to get this made and published! Good luck with the other data!!
I've really been enjoying sous vide corned beef lately, now it's into winter her in Aus. 48hr sous vide, then rest, slice and sear. Served with cabbage (spiced with caraway and fennel), mashed potatoes, white sauce and steamed beans with bacon. A hearty combination. Took a few sessions, but I watched the whole thing!
I completely forgot about the painted world quest from Oblivion. That is actually crazy piece of lore. If Dibella really just handed over an artifact that can create pocket worlds like that then that makes her one of the most powerful ES deities for sure.
Thanks for the video! I always love listening to you while I eat lunch. My favorite meal (like other people who commented) is chicken with rice and vegetables.
One of my favorite cakes is a slightly modified version of a recipe of an apple oatmeal cake from an old Quaker Oats book. I'll just edit this comment with the recipe later since I'm baking it today, but if I remember it right, it has 3 cubed apples, a good amount of cinnamon, 1 and 1/2 cups of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, 1 cup of flour, 2 cups of fine oatmeal. It's really sweet and it is a real lifesaver when some of your apples have gone from chunchy to munchy

I think Sheogorath could be likely. Craziness and creativity are sides of the same coin, and he seems to have a thing for creating environments that exemplify those concepts, like Mania/Dementia. It just has that absurdist quality that the other Daedra don’t have.
Ash Yam and Scrib Jerky Stew This stew captures the earthy flavors of ash yams and the protein-rich "scrib jerky" (a fictional Dunmer ingredient, replaced here with dried mushrooms for texture and umami). Once softened, drain, chop them into small pieces, and set aside. Sauté the vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic, cooking until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add spices: Stir in the smoked paprika, cumin, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Cook for another minute until fragrant. Add yams and mushrooms: Add the cubed yams and chopped rehydrated mushrooms to the pot. Stir well to coat the vegetables with the spice mixture. Simmer the stew: Pour in the vegetable broth and canned tomatoes (with their juices). Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 25-30 minutes, or until the yams are tender. Season and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh herbs like thyme or sage to evoke the marshy regions of Morrowind. Optional Variations: Kwama Egg: Add a poached egg on top before serving, symbolizing the iconic kwama egg from the Elder Scrolls. Hound Meat: Include strips of smoked beef or pork for a more protein-rich dish if you want a "Hound Meat" substitute. Serve with flatbread or crusty bread to soak up the savory broth. This dish captures the rustic and resilient spirit of the Dunmer people!
I prefer the Tsciaese to be Humans and the depiction of them being Man-Serpent vampires was there to just scare the people of Tamriel into hating them. Flour tortillas, stuffed with grilled meat (usually chicken), peppers, onions, tomatoes, and cheese, spiced with a bit of cumin and coriander, and some jalapenso for heat.

The paintbrush has strong Sheogorath qualities, I think. It manifests creativity, madness and the consequences of both, especially on mortals. He also specifically seems to like creating environments embodying all these elements that mortals can inhabit and interact with, often as long term occupants. And it has a sense of absurdist/ironic humor that the other Daedra don’t seem to possess. The Dibella story sounds like wishful thinking at best and at worst a cover story.

Ash Yam and Scrib Jerky Stew
This stew captures the earthy flavors of ash yams and the protein-rich "scrib jerky" (a fictional Dunmer ingredient, replaced here with dried mushrooms for texture and umami).
Ingredients:
1 pound yams or sweet potatoes (for the "ash yams"), peeled and cubed
1 cup dried shiitake or porcini mushrooms (for "scrib jerky"), rehydrated and chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (fire-roasted, if possible)
4 cups vegetable broth (or bone broth for a heartier flavor)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (for the smoky taste)
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for a hint of exotic spice)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh herbs like thyme or sage for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the "scrib jerky": Rehydrate the dried mushrooms by soaking them in warm water for 20-30 minutes.
Optional Variations:
Kwama Egg: Add a poached egg on top before serving, symbolizing the iconic kwama egg from the Elder Scrolls.
Hound Meat: Include strips of smoked beef or pork for a more protein-rich dish if you want a "Hound Meat" substitute.
Serve with flatbread or crusty bread to soak up the savory broth. This dish captures the rustic and resilient spirit of the Dunmer people!

Home made deep fried steak fries. Deep fried with olive oil infused with garlic. Medium heat and it takes awhile but well worth the wait. Enjoy!
