    Been gigging mine for about 2 months.Indoor and outdoor gigs.. Simply amazing and the real tone sweetness isn't coming across on RUclips. Add a little echoplex boost and you got classic Marshall tones. 20 watt marshall are a God send for us bar/small venue players. I love the 30 watt JTM-45 but its just way to much volume to drive in most places.

    Love it. I would love to walk in the shop and buy 1 tomorrow. But... I need to remind myself I bought the jubilee explicitly because of its awesome master volume. It gets pretty misleading when so many people say this and the SV20 - even the tone master stuff... is quiet enough to use at home. It's like, not if you want a cranked sound it isn't haha.

      For this price you can start getting botique handwired to your specs amps. 1300 for a studio series will get you a handwired jtm45 and you can ask Ceriatone to add a ppimv, which has allowed me to crank it inside.

    Early Marshalls did not have PCB mounted components and valve bases like these. Plus they also had valve rectifier personally I would say the Marshall 1974x (baby Bluesbreaker) is a more authentic made early Marshall amp design.

    • @watersnortmoment3734
      @watersnortmoment3734 11 месяцев назад

      For the prices in the US, you might as well just buy a handwired clone from Ceriatone or Wangs, no point buying a non repairable 1300 dollar JTM that doesn’t even have a tube rectifier.

    The vintage JTM's, which I have played, sounded completely different to me. What I hear hear here, are typical Origin 20 sounds and my Origin I sold after 2 weeks, as I did not like it's thin, scratchy sounds.

    • @rocknroll1973
      @rocknroll1973 Год назад

      Origin is modeled after the jtm45. It's likely your speakers. Because mine origin has a lot of balls and is also great cleans . I have the 50 watt head.

    • @HEZ63
      @HEZ63 Год назад +1

      @@rocknroll1973 Still the final sounds are completely different, at least for me. The tone stack works different and also the missing rectifier tube makes a difference. I know, how a real JTM45 sounds and an Origin maybe sounds similar but not 100% authentically.
      But, here the theme ist the ST-20 and this one has nothing at all to do sonically for me with a real vintage JTM45 or Bluesbreaker, sorry.
      I like the SV-20 as a nice lower watt 1959, but a JTM45 based amp without a rectifier tube and the KT66 tubes replaced by 5881 tubes is not my idea of an authentic vintage early 1960's JTM45 Marshall sound.
      Alone the fact, that the cabinets use Creambacks prove, that the sound is not authentically. A real JTM45 sounded best with 20W pre-Rola G12M's or Celestion alnicos. A Creamback sounds completely different.

    • @rocknroll1973
      @rocknroll1973 Год назад

      @@HEZ63 speakers would make a lot of difference too from what you've played compared to this. There's just a lot of factors. Guitar, pickups, amp settings, speakers, and the player. And I disagree. Jtm45 sounds best with 25watt greenbacks. Malcolm youngs tone is heaven is for me. You know you can still play this head with those speakers right? You don't have to get the cab. Also, listen to the sv20h vs 1959slp comparisons. They are extremely similar, with the slp giving a bit more bottom end because of wattage difference. Otherwise it's a faithful recreation. I've no doubt it would be the same with the jtm. Also gotta factor in mics being used, and what it sounds like in the room vs through a mic.
      Example when I played my sv20h through my 2x12 with the greenback and anniversary speakers, oof it had a lot of balls. Same with my origin 50. And they sounded very different to other demos on RUclips even with the same speakers. And it had a bit of different sound when in my 4x12 with all greenbacks.
      I'd say play it for yourself then decide.

    • @HEZ63
      @HEZ63 Год назад +1

      @@rocknroll1973 I know, how a real vintage JM45 or Bluesbreaker sounds, but the ST-20 sounds completely different for me. Also with 25 or 20W Greenbacks.
      The SV-20 is close to a 1959, the SC-20 close to a JCM800, but I do not hear any similarities between a vintage JTM45 and the ST-20, sorry. Alone because of the misssing rectifier tube and also because of the - for me - worse sounding 5881 power tubes. KT66 give you a much more beefier, fuller bodied sound in my opinion.
      A Dirty Shirley gives you more convincing Ac/CD or ZZ-Top sounds, than this amp does, in my opinion. although it works woth 6L6 tubes.

    • @rocknroll1973
      @rocknroll1973 Год назад

      More than enough. 5 watt mode is what you'll be using for a pub gig. Dude, I had my sv20h in a 4x12, gull band setting, 5 watt mode. I had the volume on about 4, and cab facing toward me for it not to annoy the band at rehearsal, and it cut through the mix like butter even then

    • @watersnortmoment3734
      @watersnortmoment3734 11 месяцев назад

      If it’s like an actual JTM and an actual Plexi, barely anything, other than a few component values to give the plexi a little more gain. The main difference is actually missing from this amp, the main reason to get a JTM over a Plexi is the tube rectification, without it, it’s just a plexi with less gain. With it though, you get the phenomenon that is tube sag that comes from the inherent inefficiency of the tube rec. Very fun to play amp, if you get to experience the real deal, which you can if you can afford the studio series.

    The sound in this demo is the worst of the many that have hit RUclips following the release of the embargo by Marshall. Don't know why but it sounds like crap here and it sounds great on the other demos.

    On a positive note every replica builder breaths a sigh of relief that they are so far off spec. These are just tributes not reissues and certainly not replicas. They got some badges, smooth tolex, knobs and such but everything else is a ground up brand new design. Not even the sizes of the cabs are correct, so why bother with the cosmetics?
