Pretty much. They’re by no means the worst car for access, but Renault could have put a small removable piece in the under tray just to access the filter and sump plug, which would have made the job much easier.

Im going to do this service on my friends clio next week, and think its the same 0.9 lit engine. I didnt quiet catch what u said re sump plug ?? Did u say it was a 8mm square type ?? Ive got plenty allen keys but no square type !! So if u cud confirm that would be great and i will go and buy one !
Thanks. This is a friends car that they’ve had for about a year. Only issue they’ve had with it is a water leak which wasn’t too hard to fix (see my other videos). Honest opinion on them though, they don’t feel too well put together, the steering is so light that it almost feels like it isn’t connected to anything, and it’s horrendously slow. It’s not car I’d buy on purpose.
Well I've had one for 5 years no problem at all. Yes it's terribly slow i could sprint faster over ten metres but living in effing London 20mph even on Main roads you don't need no fancy fast car, from white city flyover to Euston 30 mph carrying on to east London same nonsense A41 Finchley road which used to be 50 mph now 20mph 🤬🤬🤬 whilst motor bikes e bikes and scooters doing whatever speed they want.
Thanks for the video - do you happen to know the torque specs for the sump plug? Can't find the bloody specs anywhere and its driving me mad - I'm the type to wrench that thing into next week, so I'd prefer setting my torque wrench as a safety net lol
No sorry I never found out the settings, but sump plugs usually want to be just a little over nipped up but not mega tight if that helps at all. Just as you feel for the sump washer starting to squish then you need to stop, it’s something you get the feel for after doing a few but a torque wrench takes that error factor away. If I can find the settings, I’ll post them for you.

Cheers mate. I’m not 100% sure without the car in front of me to check, but it looks to come it of the rocker cover behind number 2 coil pack.
Filters on MAN filters on Goza car parts for captur are good price.
