High Peak Bingo...
Too good to be true
That will buff off
National Trust Sticker
That stinks
Nothing a good clean won't sort
Over budget
Not bad at all
A fresh set of reg plates will transform it
"Good Condition"
About 5 mil of tread
The guys at the car wash are going to hate me
Radio 4
😂😂
You forgot.... "Well we're here"
“Car vertical check”
Massively overspent
The brake discs are a bit ropey
I love the first gen Captur…my missus loves hers..I bought it new and it will last her through her remaining driving career….the thing I like is there’s plenty of headroom for us tall guys and it’s easy to get into for us old guys..they seem to have surpassed Citroen for quirky design features….
Those rusty wheel nuts need to go though
Agree. That really wasn’t good for my OCD 😂
or even stick on a set of plastic wheel nut covers/caps. you can get a set of 20 for under a fiver. they look ok too for all the price of them as some tramp stole the set off my wifes astra k so ordered ones of eBay and done the job
Put my Vehicle OCD into overdrive 😂
The Dust on the screen made mine go stratofuckinspheric...
Take them off and leave them in alloy wheel cleaner overnight and in the morning dry them off and clearcoat, and try be gentle putting them back on. Lot of work but decent results
That colour scheme is known to Captur owners as "Guinness". The great advantage of unpainted plastics on the lower front bumper, rear bumper, doors and wheelarch trins is that it disguises any parking scrapes. I've found Michelin Crossclimates the best tyres to fit
I've never driven a Captur but a friend of mine is a huge fan. His late father had a couple and they were near perfect for people who have lost bit of suppleness shall we say. Small footprint but easy to get in and out of. Enjoying this French period in your recent reviews!
If I reach my eighties and my savings are running low, I might just get one of these.
I was nervous before I bought my 2015 Captur (from 2 years old) as I have heard so many horror stories about French cars but I needent have worried; its been bulletproof. You should have mentioned how well equipped these things are, the list of toys is very long indeed, you get a lot for your money. I was shocked about how much you didn't like the mk 2 though.
Hello Matt, nice car that scrubbed up well , hopefully with a nice profit. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Nice car. Excellent review again Matt. Well done.
These videos are tremendous! I keep coming back for more and more. Keep up the great work, High Peak Autos!
Thanks! Will do!
I love your videos! I am a big fan of your videos. That includes your property channel too!
This is a really cool looking car, I do like the colour combo.
As always Matt, you’ve made a great car for a new owner to enjoy.
Great video, I really enjoyed watching it❤.
Bought my wife a Tce120 Signature a couple of years ago and she loves it (purple with silver roof). Loads of kit, 1.2 petrol, and very comfy. Rear legroom is non existent but not an issue for two of us and a dog! Usual French flimsy plastics mean the heated seat switches disappear inside the seat trims and a few squeaks from the dash, but otherwise a good car!
You can slide the rear seat bench back if you want more legroom :)
I do love a Renault! Still driving my 2010 Clio in metallic blue! Done 112,000 miles and passed it’s mot on a clean sheet this year, best first car I’ve had and for it’s age it’s not too bad, has satnav and cruise control x
Another good video Matt .
That's a nice looking car. Looks almost brand new. A testament to the previous owners and also Renault build quality. And it's French. The interior has even held up well.
I had to look for this one. Another interesting video. Fingers crossed on this one, it looks and drives fine, so it should fly out.
Good evening Matt, looks like a another winner you got the right result with that one ,it will make a fantastic buy for someone looking for a family runaround .cheers Phil form Newark
One of my sons had a Captur, it was a good little car. Good to see you landed on your feet with this one Matt 👍
Thanks 👍
We’ve had a couple of Capturs in the past. Great fun little cars. Better than I’d expected.
Watching the videos for awhile and inspired me to to try and flip a few cars myself and I made my first sale today.Keep up the content.
That’s great. Congrats
Happy birthday mate love the channel
Thanks 👍
Nice one, Matt - well done! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Well done matt another peach with a potential good profit. Good luck.
Another interesting video. Love my '15 plate Megane 2.0 petrol turbo.
I was waiting for the "blown the budget" moment. 😁
Hope you make the full profit.
Nice little motor that will soon be off your forecourt well done matt 👏 👍
Always liked these
hi matt, one of favorite car video content.i like all your enjoyable posts.all the best pal..
Quite interestingly I'm quite entertained with your car videos and ultra dull presentation. Look forward to the next one Matt.
Er, you think this is dull....!?
....maybe it's the viewer....
Nothing beats a good buff 😅
*boof
Turned out nice again 👍🏻
Great video as always, so informative Matt, when or what is the next car for RaffleShack?
enjoyed it interesting and your not too greedy 👋
Crikey Matt, dipping the oil, what next checking the brake fluid and windscreen washer fluid!?
Excellent result and a good buy for someone...
Fun fact: my start with this channel wasnt the best, over varying opinions on Rover 75's. I subscribed nonetheless for the interesting format
Few years later and and i absolutely love Matt's content and this channel. Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you. We all have different opinions- that’s what makes the world go around
Well we’ll Matt really nice you saying something nice about a Renault 😊😊
That SL is the business Matt
👍👏
Thanks
I’ve just bought a 13 plate one in the same colour but a 1.5 dci, great little car and really enjoy driving it
awesome video
Thanks!
I binged watched your channel and took a shot every time you said buff and know aye khant tipe probaly
😂😂
Matt -don’t know how you find the time to make such professional videos but they’re great, love watching. One question I have is about how you calculate your profit. You never seem to add in cost of the warranty I assume you are obliged to provide. Do you have to buy this externally or do you just take the risk as part of the sale?
Thanks for showing us how crazy some of the asking prices are on Autotrader for a similiar model matched for mileage. Cheers
Love these videos. Absolutely brilliant. But you are looking more and more like Hank Scorpio (if you know, you know!!) 😅😅
“You ever seen a man say goodbye to a shoe?”
Lovely job Matt another good video 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks 👍
I used to be a sales rep for Renault back when these ones were new, and it really is a very sound car this. Not really a lot wrong with them and they are as you say quite clever in many ways. Too bad they kind of fell through the market a bit in Norway. I’d argue the best one is the 2015 HH-model with the 1.2 petrol automatic.
We brought a 14 plate dynamique nav to replace our Qashqai.
Was my wife's idea.
But must say was impressed.
Especially the cream with Black roof colour. Quite classy.the only thing I couldn't quite grasp was the "eco" button near the gear leaver , which was a bit like driving it in limp mode.
All in all a very capable car .
Fantastic video as usual.
I went from a Mk II Qashqai ntec plus to a Signature Nav Captur and although it was a step down in refinement it's still been a decent car overall.
A close friend bought a Kangoo van about the time when this was new. No good deals to be having Essex, but he found a good price at Renault Manchester. It came with an Essex reg!!
Another great video. The Captur looks like a nice car for someone. I see Renault still excel at ergonomics with the placement of their switchgear. 😅
Definitely need a tight box not a sloppy one 😂😂😂😂
What you need is some werthers originals, placed in the video, like in the early days of the channel. A nod to the past. (Admittedly the capture is not the natural choice of the werthers customer).
This Holiday Romance needs to come to an end Matt, yes as a hire car you fell in love but it will only end in tears mate...
Matt needs a TV programme pronto. He's a great presenter and his dry humour is brilliant!
Thanks!
We had a koleos 2008 reg . fabulous car and never any trouble.
Cheers from Chicago!
Thanks for watching!
Must be really good car considering it is French and Matt likes it🤣. Anyway, had a Clio IV with this engine, same year. It is actually still at home. Rock solid reliable, love this thing. Was driving it my first years of driving carrier so you can imagine how it was. Car was floored a lot 😅
I've had two of these as holiday hire cars (and a Clio and Kadjar)and enjoyed all 4, I was impressed with the 0.9 in TCE spec (Kadjar I think had a bigger petrol engine). However when I thought about a Captur as a UK purchase a test drive of a RHD car put me of , I couldn't get comfortable with the pedal arrangement.
Would love to see you review a Honda FRV, the fact you like the captur, and that mad Suziki from last week
Had a hire captur on a 15 plate for one month just after it was new. Not my cup of tea but company was paying. I remember having to get an SD card for the nav to work ( E bay had loads ) Hire company didn't provide them as they went missing. Put it back on E bay after using. I agree the seat covers are a great idea.
Keyless entry but the key fobs that look handy to chock the wheels if the hand brake can’t hack it 😮
Only the French would think it's a sensible ergonomic choice to have an "A/C off" button, instead of an "A/C on" button!
The idea is: With automatic climate control you aren't really supposed to turn the A/C off, since the car handles this automatically.
Mercedes also did this in the early 2000s.
Opel/Vauxhall used to have the A/C on/off setting within a submenu in the infotainment screen.
7:20 That's genius! Especially in a family car which is likely to get crumbs and things spilt on them.
Lmao, I’ve always found that if my tablet’s being laggy, furiously stabbing every app and button on the screen improves the situation immensely.
😂 also Yelling helps
Whenever I hear the words “Nissan Juke” I’m reminded of an interview where “Car magazine” interviewed renowned designer Giorgetto Guigaro and he was asked which car he wished he’d designed, Citroen DS, and which he was glad he didn’t (!) Nissan Juke…
I’m ready for another Raffleshack!
Love the car hate the 0.9. I've seen 400k on 1.5 dCi, so I'd rather have that
Cant get enough of this bloody channel. You need a car show on DAVE or something mate.
Thanks! Maybe one day
Love the look of this generation Captur though never driven one. Shame the latest model has lost its good looks and simplicity.
Yes no dipstick and the lack of temperature gauge is a mystery to me! The basics of a healthy motor, I buy older cars to put huge milage on, good service history then a good service including gearbox oil change then regular checks and upkeep and I have taken many cars over 200,000 miles then sold them on to people who have had many happy years of service after me! Basic maintenance and checks have become an inconvenience!
add in TPMS and oil drainage that requires suction and no dipsticks ...i think manufacturers need a good ass kicking...oh i forgot the nasties of wet belts and waterpumps that are integral and cause engine seizure if they fail....some real crap out there
Went to view a car today and you know what I followed your route around the car all 4 tyres matched and spot on service history . All buttons and air con checked as well. Another great up load.
I bought a car and sit in it and started it up and looked out for smoke from exhaust listen for rattling or vibrations and then check stereo works and then thats it. But all windows fromt and back worked only to realise hours later that the passenger side electric folding mirror doesnt adjust anymore. Cant tilt the angles or height on it. Air conditioning along with cruise control is two things i never use though but car has it all anyway.
For the MOT guy to not see those rear tyres as a fail is unbelievable and something fishy is going on there I think. For the owner to run on near 10 year old tyres too, just wow.
On another note, I think many will have anything over a Nissan Juke too lol.
Have you considered the possibility that the MOT guy er, knows the rules....and you don't..!?
...just a mad thought....
I saw, a year old Mercedes S Class in my local Tesco car park. Rusty wheel nuts. I would do my NUT at the main dealer. My one and only new car, I said to the salesman, I want the bloke who puts the plates on. Out there with a spirit level. I think we both have OCD, but a great profit margin, well deserved 😀
Could of quite easily been like sat in my partner's Clio dynamique s, everything looks the same , the 900cc 3 cylinder is a fantastic little thing. The Clio we have is the 2nd Clio we've had and both brilliant little cars.
Your hatred for the juke does make me chuckle 😂
Thanks
The quality of editing is superb 🎉. Next video: I’ve bought a 1st gen Kia Sportage for just 500£, what can go wrong 😂😂😂
U should review the toyota yaris and compare it to the aygo would be interesting to watch
Had a rental Clio with the same engine, it wasn’t fast but seemed quite entertaining to drive with a nice 3cyl hum.
Pressing the eco button to off seemed to give it a smidge more power on long inclines.
Think the eco button does really hit performance. I've had it switched on on my hybrid Honda Jazz thinking I was doing the right thing but decided to turn it off the other day. Like a different car and chat on forums indicate that the fuel saving is minimal anyway.
As far as I can tell, on mine, all the eco button does is make the eco light go on and off.
I thought you were repainting the front bumper but you only mentioned buffing the paint at the end. Sitting higher means the car is easier to get into as you said: at your time of life I suppose that’s important!!!!😂
Nice result! Do your customers tend to haggle much about price? Could you please review a Morgan? Probably don't come across many, but perhaps your friends form the luxury rentals may have one. I am considering a Plus 4... maybe :)
Nice car, easy project, and you must have made a nice profit on it as it's not showing on your website .... BUT the AMG GT is - Why sell your dream car, or is it because you have enough SL's now for one every day of the week? Video coming soon I'd guess .... Good Luck!
Always move the wheels with new tires in the front
You have recently had a couple of OK cars that turned out to be french!? 😂 Think this one had some love in the past which heped your budget! Quite a nice little car although when you opened and closed the doors and windows it sounded tinny which would put me off.
For the price it’s an excellent looking car.
Think 5800 is a bit much for a 14 plate Matt more like a four and half to me.
You cannot buy them for that
Hi Matt well done should be a profit on this one not a Captur fan
A very impressive video Thankyou, I have a Captur with the same engine, I am very impressed with it as well, It is a 66 plate 2017 Dynamique model, at the time I bought it in April 2021, at the time the last lockdown was lifting it had done 52000 miles, I bought it for £6995.00. Would that be considered a bargain!
i could even get used to bad food but to a wheel on the wrong side, never. greetings from germany
odd tyres dont often scream red flag to me. if its just one axle that is odd, and the tread is only 1-2mm difference, it just screams puncture to me, one thats too bad to fix. especially when its good tyres, instead of two of the cheapest budgets around
8:29 Hand written invoices?! I’d love to see that garage.
Nice car. Very similar to Dacia Sandero Stepway, but with nicer interior and ride. Same platform as Nissan Juke - but nowhere near as hateful 🤣
The first part of the video was before you swapped the wheel in the SL, I was waiting for the ‘3 months later/I should have scrapped this’ ending 😊
Did the damage to the front bumper buff out? You thought it would need painting.
A quick wash and a buff and it will be fine
the car looks great despite being 9 years old.. and i also didnt know they had some realtion to LG.. the more you know!
Hey up 👌👌
Nice car for someone 😊
You should sell the air fresheners on your website 😊
Captur and X2 are the only two "SUVs" I would buy over station wagon purely on looks.
i think that the peugeot 2008 and the c4 cactus are also good
