I've had my Captur for 3 1/2 years and its been a lovely car from day one. I have the 1.5 diesel with EDC gearbox. No road noise, no whistling either. Sure the dash material is hard plastic but you don't spend the time you're in the car touching the dash up. The dual clutch auto is as smooth as silk, never feel it changing gear. All these people saying it's an SUV with no offroad ability.... It's not an SUV, it's a compact crossover. Looking forward to getting my next Captur later in the year.
imac331731 it is nice to drive but it does have its problems especially the 1.5 automatic. On long open road it’s nice but in busy town busy roundabouts it’s not got the power to pull out fast you need a big empty space . Auto def has its problems

Pretty fair review actually, although I like the fact that the cruise control isn't mounted on the steering wheel. I never press that button, I just leave it activated all the time.. To have a relatively useless button on the wheel would be even more annoying imo
From your review I can see that this Captur is basically a high Clio 4...Same driving experience almost same material and design but it's just higher to give you the SUV sensation.
I am very happy with my captur, except for the lousy media system. Driving it in Brazil, it is great to have very large Wheels. That being said I would also love to have the sport mode for my automatic transmission.
Good little car. High up so visibility is good and not too slow as it has a turbo. Only issue I've had is that as it is 3 clinder it ticks it's nuts off on idle which can be annoying and our Renault garage said it was normal and nothing they could do about it.
Had this car as a rental recently. I vote “avoid”. It hates corners, feels cheap and the gear-lever is just weird. It feels like the pattern is all tilted away from the driver (on LHD). That and the rubbery feel means it’s kinda hard to tell when you are in neutral. I really like the peppy 1.2l engine though. Except it bogs down easily when setting off.
Splendid Cookie What I don't understand is that they've added something that no one wanted? The worst fakes are the ones with the black plastic over the entire exhaust hole yeeesh

My dad has just bought a new Captur and, apart from one of the rear seat belts not snapping into place when you put it on, the instrument panel on the dash does not light up or adjust for luminance when you roll the adjuster wheel around. Not good when this is supposed to be checked before sale. (Dales, Cornwall)

Roscks will dent the floor and it will rust. Also renault has no zinc on the body. Poor waranty for rust only 6 years

I wish they launched this in India. This is based on the Clio Platform in the UK while the Kaptur in India is based on the Duster Platform. This just looks so much better. UK Captur has more features, more safety kit while the Indian Kaptur which is priced the same doesn’t.
Not a bad car if you take care of it thoroughly. The cords on the back of the seats are basically useless. One of those episodes where they tried to be unique and made the whole thing obsolete. They're slightly worse than those on my Mercedes and nowhere near as good as the ones on the TS Auris. But that's probably because the auris is the only one that has actual pouches instead of clams like in the Mercedes and harps in the Renault. Overall it's a decent workhorse and the cheap, plastic interior makes it less stressful when you scratch it from load.
