I have beaten this game three different times, and am halfway through a steel soul run. When you broke the wall at 4:34 I just froze. I had no idea that was there. I would walk back through the soul sanctum door every time. I am both thankful and enraged.
I learned abt that pathway through his guides just as I learned of the bench near the dust storm particle computer killer that is Hornet battle 2 after beating the game. Learning both of thse pathways would have saved so much time as I struggled against those bosses as a beginner. That treck from the nailmasters hut to hornet omg it sucks

Oh dear… how did you get in there? There’s 2 ways and on which one you got in through determines just how f***ed you are. One is after beating the Mantis Lords you simply walked left and found yourself in the piles of remains skewered by the Mantis Lords’ lances. In which case simply walk right. However if you happened to stumble across a secret room in the Fungal Wastes and were sent plummeting down into the creepiest place known to bug, you’re completely f***ed. Just how f***ed you are depends on what tools you have. Mantis Claw? Should have a secret way out to the right of where you fell. No Mantis Claw? Um… you are in for a rough time. Hopefully you have the lantern. Best advice is to try and find the Failed Tramway and look for something there to get you outta that place.

It was in a previous video you mentioned to "go to the empty parts of the map" and it reminded me what I told a friend the first time I played the game. They were impressed by how fast I was progressing. My only explanation was "idk I just get lost all the time and find things while trying to un-lost myself"
listing ways I found to avoid (most) elevators here 2:32 - So since we have the dash and mantis claw here, you can call the elevator down and then jump to the wall left from it, dash, pogo off the spikes and then dash to get to the other wall. You could do this with double jump easier here, but.. we don’t have that so we have to do it this way. Then you just mantis claw your way up, dash to the wall on the right and get to the platform by dashing again. 3:25 - Sadly, this is another elevator I legit don’t know how to skip. I’ve tried using stanley as a pogo but he’s too far away, as well as using the table as a pogo (too far away). You can how ever lessen the time spent on an elevator here by taking the first ascend and just using the path in the left as a way up. also, you can’t pogo the spikes here sadly so.. :( 4:11 This eleavtor (atleast to the first ascend) has no way of going past it (unless i think you find another way to enter this room). However, if you manage to go up once, flick the lever to go down and mantis claw your way up 4:33 - This one can be easily avoided if you flick it to go up and then just jump to the wall and mantis claw your way up. In my opinion, this way is much more easier because breaking the wall here is also more easier if you avoid the elevator. 6:18 - So, here you have to flick the lever to go up, mantis claw your way up, and what I did here is get the soul on the middle platform, then go down, then flick the lever to go down and then I jumped to the middle platform as fast as possible. Then, all you have to do is just jump your way up :). I think those were all elevators? Surprisingly I thought there was more. That’s 5 elevators, 2 of which I don’t know how to avoid, so sorry. But this is definitely a way to lessen your time using elevators lmao

here's some advice, use the R1 shoulder button instead of B to cast spells. I'm pretty sure it saves frames, and it's called quick cast so how slow could it really be
You are correct! For newer players this is actually super useful info cause using the focus button only casts when you let go as opposed to the shoulder button that does it immediately on the down press
