this genuinely might be the best blender tutorial series i’ve ever seen. so many videos show you what to do without explaining the why - or thought process behind those ideas. i love how thorough you are with taking us through every step and manage to simplify more complex modelling ideas for beginners. thank you so much for making these and im excited to watch the rest! :)

Great beginner content series mate! at 43:10 under the proportional editing dropdown, there's an option for 'Connected Only' where you can move that top handle part without affecting the sphere shape below

      Thanks, I'm glad it's helpful.
The handle is connected to the sphere though! So it'll still effect it, unless you disconnect the geometry.

with the 'Connected Only' checkbox turned on under proportional editing. you just need to reduce the influence using the mouse scroll wheel, it will only affect the vertices connected to the one(s) selected. Try it

@ ah, yeah no I got you. I thought you were talking about towards the base of the handle. Yeah that could definitely isolate the top of the handle if it were picking up on the kettlebell body mesh below.

You are so awesome for making this tutorial series, Can you please please extend this series to include more complex geometry and other modeling problems ? Again I really appreciate your calm and elaborate teaching style, it is perfect to learn from! So thanks a lot!!

Great tutorial! I always watch these since there's always something I pick up on even though I am past the basics. I didnt even know that "to sphere" function existed! I always used the cast modifier after the subdivision to get the sphere shape.

“To sphere” is kind of a one trick pony, but very useful when you need that one trick.

Also at 32 min, I was able to extrude the tubes perpendicular to sphere by manually typing numbers into the extrude parameter window, with Orientation set to Normal: X=0, Y=0, Z=height

nice video bro. I am not a complete beginner. Been using blender for a year but never realised that subdividing the square doesnt makes a perfect sphere. I am trying to master product modelling , that is, working with reallife precise measurements and your video helped a lot. Also, your slowmo water drinking really tested my patience😂.

I'm following this tutorial and it's very nice and slow paced. I got stuck for a while to the CTRL + A to apply the modifier because at first it didn't do what you did. I got "Apply Transformations" only, until checking from key-bind preferences it mentions "Property Editor" with "Apply Modifier". In other words the mouse cursor has to be within the selected modifier's box for the shortcut to work. The more you know!

Also maybe add a note at the 10 min mark that subdiv surface mod can be generated instantly by hitting ctrl-# for # of levels!

Thanks for saying this, man. I'm not too upset about it though. Many good things (meeting great people) have come from this channel. Don't get me wrong, I'd love something to pop off and get me some income, but for now this is a nice little community.

    Master thanks for your sharing.
I follow the tutorial and do whatever you did but unfortunately when I'm using the bridge edge loops the handle goes so weird shapes although I'm many times aply transform by ctrl+A the handle bend in a different direction. Is it possible bridge edge loops sensitive to a particular axes?
    Can you help me.
