Some things I’d like to point out: You mentioned that the lift hills on Vekoma’s coasters are pretty silent compared to the ones on Arrow’s coasters. However that is not usually the case, as the lift hill on Batwing at Six Flags America sounds similar to that of a construction jackhammer. Also, Drachen Fire wasn’t removed immediately in 1998. It stood SBNO until 2002 when it was eventually removed and sold for scrap. It was hoped that it would be relocated to another park, but no parks wanted to buy it, so off to the scrapyard it went. Plus, Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis was originally one of the star attractions of Expo 86 in Vancouver, where it was known as “Scream Machine”. After Expo 86 concluded, it was packed up and shipped off to Six Flags St. Louis, and was renamed to “Ninja”. Also, X2 opened in January 2002, a month after Arrow filed for Bankruptcy for what would be the final time. X2 did have a pass holder opening on Christmas Eve day of 2001. Plus it was supposed to have opened in the summer of that year but many mechanical issues caused its opening to be delayed until after 2001 turned to 2002.
Am I the only person in the world who loves jerky transitions on Arrow coasters? It saves some, especially the mine trains, from being boring sleeping pills.
As far as old goes... I love arrow! The jankiness is a welcome change from most other coasters. Vekoma is my current favorite manufacturer though, sooo...
I love arrow and vekoma. Arrow are my favourite they've done so much for the industry. Theres only 5 arrows in Europe. :( Lots of vekomas though. So far my favourite vekoma is kumali but will chance when I rise space mountain and the the ones at energylandia I think
Can we also talk about the supports on arrow coasters. On arrow coasters on the corkscrews and loops the supports wrap around the elements but vekoma just uses the common supports
If I'm not mistaken, the only place where you can find Arrow coasters in Europe is at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, so if you're in Europe, there's a 99% chance it's a Vekoma coaster. Both manufacturers were big innovators in their own way. Anyway thanks for the video, I've always had a hard time figuring out which manufacturer it was between Arrow and Vekoma.
I'm glad this video helped! From what I've found, most of the Arrows in Europe are at Blackpool. According to rcdb, there's one at PortAventura and one at Chessington World of Adventures. But that still pales in comparison to the many Vekomas in Europe. And I do agree that both manufacturers innovated throughout their lifetime!
@@808CoasterLife The arrow suspended coaster at Chessington was actually refurbished by Vekoma in 2002 with new trains which are much less restrictive; however, the track remained the same old Arrow track from 1990. Hoping Vekoma can retrack it soon because it's becoming a rough ride.
Mammut and Shaman (Magic Mountain in 1985) are both (Old) Vekoma's Coaster located in Gardaland, Italy... I think you should try Mammut because it's very long, it's so funny and it's very, very well themed!!!
For some reason, I keep thinking Ninja/Blue Hawk at Six Flags over GA was an Arrow coaster, but alas, Vekoma. Was Arrow originally suppose to build it?
Blue Hawk at Over GA was 100% Vekoma. However, another ride called Ninja was started by Arrow but finished by Vekoma since Arrow went bankrupt. That one is at Six Flags St. Louis.
There are also Vekoma roller coasters that have cloned layouts of Arrow roller coasters, an example would be Big Loop at Heide Park in Germany this ride only mirrored the layout of Dragon Fyre from Canadas Wonderland.
I like the video, but 6:45 is completely wrong. B&M was only considered. There pricings were too high and arrow was actually planned to make it all along. This is common misinfo, so I dont blame you. Source: ElToroRyan
Arrow were legendary innovaters, not afraid of a challenge. And Vekoma... they just stole arrow's track and never did made any changes or upgrades until recently
vekoma is a very flexible company which is why they have a good relation with disney e.g: Expedition Everest, Big Thunder Mountain.( disney.fandom.com/wiki/Vekoma (short list with all disney vekoma coasters)) you wouldn't recognise them as vekoma based on their track. also to combat the argument of not innovating vekoma built the worlds first tilt coaster, wich is currently the only one to go 90 degrees.
Good info. I died with the star wars name... "what?"
I thought that meme would fit it perfectly! I’m glad you liked it!

As far as I know you’re certainly not the only one.

I can see why Vekoma is your favorite of the 2 because their new rides look great. I can also agree with your statement about Arrow as well!

You are correct!
That was only on the very early Arrows.

@@acllno Yes that is something to note. Hopefully it’ll be retracked sometime soon.
So blue hawk at Six flags over Ga. Was originally an arrow looper. Vokoma just took over the project

thank you so much for clearing that up!
Happy to help!
Runaway Train is my only home parks Arrow Dynamics coasters.

4:13 an awesome ride experience, not a uncomfortable experience... you mixed them up!
The only Arrow/old Vekoma I’ve ridden is Matterhorn Bobsleds so I can’t judge!
Bruh why did you have to mention Vekoma flying Dutchman’s because firehawk was my favorite ride and got shut down 😭😭
I was pretty sad when I heard Firehawk was removed. Hopefully you’ll like its successor Orion when it opens.
Oh god. Please don’t mention Orion. I won’t get on that in a million years! Firehawk and Vortex was where it was at!
I have to say every Vakoma I’ve ridden I’ve felt beat up after more so than any-other coaster manufacture.
Arrow dynamics lifts hills vs vekoma lift hill
Arrow dynamics: *loud annoying anti-rollback noises*
Vekoma: HAHA Lift hill go BRRRRRRRRRRR!!
6:03 there’s a couple exceptions to this, like Drachen Fire and Canyon Blaster
Good point!
Awesome video! It can certainly be difficult to tell the two apart so this will definitely help those who have trouble distinguishing the two.
Thanks so much! I’m glad I can help!
Very good and informative video. Keep up the good hard work man!
Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it.

@@808CoasterLife No problem!
FYI - the Drachen Fire B&M thing is a total myth. It was an Arrow from Day 1. Watch ElToroRyan's video on it, he goes over everything
Great video, subscribed
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest of my content!
They actually have put vest restraints on an Arrow. Hot Wheels Sidewinder at Dreamworld uses vest restraints. Although it has Vekoma built trains.
Nice, Vekoma should do the same thing to certain coasters.
at darien lake there is a good arrow and two decent/bad vekomas
I’ve only heard good reviews about Viper!
@@808CoasterLife its a great ride
Viper is my second favorite ride there. The airtime in the back on the drop is insane.

Does Vekoma still use the Arrow track?
They still use it for some of their models, most notably, the Mine Train.
The boomerang?
I’m not sure if they’re still selling normal boomerangs but I know they don’t use it for their family boomerangs.
Hopefully theres a company out there that still uses the arrow track with decent smoothing. I love the design of it. IDK why
there is new vekoma coming to the us and they are building it at Dollywood
oh and i much prefer arrows the just so likable you cant hate a arrow coaster with a passion thats vekoma
That’s true!
Arrow were legendary innovaters, not afraid of a challenge. And Vekoma... they just stole arrow's track and never did made any changes or upgrades until recently
Yeah Arrow did a lot to shape the coaster industry.
Wish they innovated in ways that would keep them in business. As in advances in track profiling and computer aided design.
Vekoma is so much better than arrow dynamics

Can you ever RMC a steel coaster?
Ever heard of Phantom’s Revenge and Steel Phantom?
Yes, technically that’s a makeover of a steel coaster. But Morgan renovated it. What if RMC renovates steel coasters🤔
I was mostly kidding, but also to give an idea for what it may look like. People are saying, though, that Morgan should be the RMC for old arrows.
If that’s the case that could make Chance rides/Morgan more popular in the industry!
That would be good. Personally, I get to ride Phantom all the time.
Nice! It looks like a great ride with lots of ejector.
Arrow is a great manufacturer. But I also don't mind SLCs. As far as old goes though, I'll take Arrow
Interesting! How many SLCs have you ridden?
Well only 1, Mind Eraser at Darien Lake, and I heard it's one of the better ones, so maybe that's why
I want new Vekoma in the US, too. Believe me..
We’ve been waiting long enough!
6:57 umm srry but this was a arrow project 100% of the time never B&M
