I would like to point out that Vekoma's Flying Dutchman was not copied from B&M. The first Flying Dutchman was built in 2000, while the first B&M Flyer was 2002. They are not referring to the newer versions as Flying Dutchmen, but just Flying Coasters (from looking at their website).
@RCE Town that makes sense for RCDB Since Vekoma didn't really give a new name, they just kind of gave it a description. I've ridden Hals über Kopf and F.L.Y and they are both great. Comparing F.L.Y to Manta (which is the only B&M I have ridden) I prefer the Vekoma version which is one of my favorite coasters overall. While I really enjoy Hals über Kopf, the B&M inverts I have ridden are superior. Also I don't quite agree that Vekoma does the most unique Layouts. Of course the flying coaster and STC are unique because they are the only ones that exist at this point. So I don't really think it's fair to compare these to B&M coasters, which have lots of rides of the same type build. I'm sure Vekoma will use similar elements for new rides of these types going forward. Thinking about the sitdown models - they do use mostly similar layouts and elements so I don't really see how they are unique. I think Intamin for sure does the most unique Coasters in the Industry.
