I got a base mini cooper 2012 r56 I have coil overs and an after market cold air intake
Is it possible for me to turbo it without it going wrong and if so what outside the turbo will I need and need to upgrade

I personally wouldn't bother trying to turbo a base model. Just do basic maintenance and make sure it's healthy. I plan to buy another base and do headers, intake manifold, exhaust, etc and tune. Realistically I'd be happy with that for a base. Base stock internals wouldn't be happy with the boost, it's already 11:1 CR

Can you answer a question? My mini 2010 cooper s I just replaced thermostat housing but now it seems to be leaking right where the water pipe meets the metal (above passenger tire) now I notice my car when revving up to change gears makes an air sound like a whisp right when you let off the gas?? Do you think it’s another problem or lack of coolant pressure? It never made this sound til I noticed the new leak from water pipe…. Im so mad I went through all that trouble of the housing, but didn't do the water pipe!

Hi, first off thanks for the sub! Much appreciated!
Usually it’s best to replace both as they tend to leak if one is replaced but not the other. Replace the pipe and make sure the intake system is all seated correctly and both your issues should be solved
As for the sound when you let off the gas is probably due to the intake mechanism not being fully seated correctly. It’s normal to have a woosh, but factory it’s a very quiet sound. If the fresh air pipe going into the airbox isn’t seated all the way it will make the noise louder
