@@zevisgarage i have no clue. I do not have a gauge on the dash nor do i have one to measure it underneath the hood. BUT, the reservoir of the coolant was bubbling a bit. Even after shutdown of the engine. I haven't seen that before to be honest, so in my opinion that cant be good. Leaking head gasket..... or the fluid getting too hot. Airbubbles in the system? I did bleed out the air with the special screw on the thermostat, but i also read/watched/been told that you can have airbubbles which you can not get out with this bleeder valve, like in the waterpump???? Need to check if the system is air free first, that is for sure. Maybe vacuum it out, but where can i hook up a vacuum to the system to get all air out?

@@zevisgarage anyway, i am gonna buy a laser thermometer to check the temp on stuff.... But at the moment i can not give you a number on what the temp was. In my opinion, after much experience driving all kinds of stuff, this car should have been warm enough for the fan to kick in. But it didnt. It did prior to changing the thermostat, but at the wrong moments. Now, new thermostat, and the fan stays quiet. New sensor also, so sensor should not be the issue. Unless i did hook up the connector on the wrong sensor, but that would mean the guy before me made the mistake, because i did what i saw. I took pictures, so it was not that difficult to reconnect in the right order. Anyways, sorry for the books i write. Wanna be as full in details as possible so to make a good judgement. Am also dutch, sorry for funny english. Frick (the hot chick said in Scrubs.... if you know this comedy series) I forgot to mention that the fan did come on when the engine was not even started. And it stayed on even if you drove 1 mile and turned it off. After replacing the thermostat, with new sensors installed in it, the fan stays quiet. A video on youtube tells the story about how the fan itself can be broken if it behaves in a certain way. Like the way described. So, now i am wondering: maybe the fan is also broken, just like the thermostat was. The thermostat was broken. The heater gets hot again. But what are the odds of both the thermostat and the fan being broken at roughly the same time? Hence why i ask the silly question: what harm can it do to switch 2 connectors? Will this cause the fan not to start when it should? Sorry for my books, but i have to explain it as good as possible for it to make sense.

@ open the secret menu, RUclips it. I sadly don’t have any videos on it yet but it’s been covered a good amount with some slight inaccuracies. But long story short if you do a trick to open a certain menu you can get the car to show you a coolant temp. You can really accurately/safely bleed it without reading temp unless you are used to it and have done several of these cars

@@zevisgarage Ah, the secret menu. Compadre. You have done plenty of zees cars. Je ne sais pas. In other words: Any idea why the fan stopped functioning after replacing the thermostat? Before replacing the themostat it was running, but not at the correct moments. It starts running when on ignition, engine not started and not at temperature. And it kept running after switch down of engine, even if engine was not hot. I have seen video where people say fan is broken. But, this means another 160 euro to replace the fan. It did run before i replaced the thermostat. I replaced the thermostat because my brother, owner of car, told me his heater was not getting warm. Worked, heater gets warm again. Plus: Thermostat looks pretty bad. You talk about a secret menu. All i have is this cheap Chinese scantool that is able to find some codes, and reset some stuff, but for 25 bucks you can not expect to go to the moon with it. Thank you for your knowledge. If you give me any more, to solve this problem, i will make sure it was worth the effort some way or another. Btw not just a subscription but some dough to bake some bread, ey?

@@ModVlog in the description I list how bad it was, and at the end of the video I mention how I don’t condone running the car with the sketchy setup I had. I had a bad alignment, 1 new tire and 3 cooked ones, and the stiffer rear swaybar on full stiff. The tires didn’t have even grip, I was too chicken to stay on throttle at times which I needed, and between all that it made a very weird driving scenario. It was fun and I met my base goal but I never would recommend someone tracking their car like that. Always fix it right and make sure it’s safe

I would worry more about the 20k plus in engine work required to properly run the r400ts maybe look at the r300

@@CHILLIFLAMES The cut off line on the left is intentionally lower so you do not blind the oncoming traffic.

@zevisgarage how much would you charge to build my N14 bottom end? Labor only Also what’s the hp/torq limit on the 6speed auto? And how hard is the manual swap if possible?

@ good question, it depends on the parts used. My build for example used the K1 rods which required extra clearance and custom modifications, which would definitely be more. The 6 speed auto won’t get you very far for power wise. R300 I ran on my GF’s with the auto is the furthest I’d want to push it. How many miles on your current engine? I built this bottom end with the engine I had from a donor car that ran in this car for a little, which was good health and checked out on all my measurements.

@@zevisgarage My cylinder head was rebuilt about 2 years ago before I did any mods I got all the timing done new guides water pump and crossover pipe along with thermostat. I’ve never serviced the transmission but it’s holding up good

@@zevisgarage I’m at 215k miles no engine codes or anything just curious if it would be worth it to build but you say it’s already pretty much at its limit with the hybrid turbo so I’ll have to just keep it cool until I figure out how to make the 6 speed automatic stronger.
