I’m commenting from 2023 after I just bought Wii Fit Plus for nostalgic sake for only $5. I still had my really old balance board, but I forgot how to set it up, so this was a nice throwback 😊

Some extra tips to sync. The sync might not work if the wii or the board are on carpet. I'd advise to place them on a hard surface and also make sure the devices are a couple of metres apart. If you hold them next to each other it won't work.
Honestly it's unbelievable that Nintendo wouldn't just provide a cable that syncs devices. Especially as it's a console mainly used by kids

Thanks for this,we thought our board didn't work, we read online to press the button on the wii and the board at the same time bit that stuffed up the remotes. This fixed it straight away thanks

Was struggling to connect it for an hour. Finally worked not sure why. Had it on hard tile floor, held sync on board for 5 seconds, then tapped the sync on console, was also in wii fit game when it synced, not wii menu

Well I have that balance board but the light doesn't even stay on though to make it work for me. It is suppose to stay on or turn off even though I push the button once. I remember the one by PT place in our medical building and their balance board stays lit so I think my is busted too.

If anybody struggles with it. I had the problem that it simply didn't want so snyc. You just have to start a game that requires balance board (I used Wii Fit) and it will help you setting it up and enable sync mode of the Wii until its connected

did you open the flap and sync with the red button inside? I mean on the console itself. Press the red button in the battery compartment in the balance board, then open the flap in the console and see see another red button press that. In his video he gave the impression we should press the reset button rather than open the flap on the console to see another red button, tha\t is what I thought at first, I could be wrong, bless him anyway, he helped me

Actually try lookin around your board .. Because even though mine wasn't in the battery compartment i found it in a weird place .. So I say look at it thoroughly
