Nicely done! I would add that since you are working with bias edges when sewing the HSTs that starching your fabric before cutting will help with stretching. When I printed the pattern (thank you!) I realized I could do this as a larger quilt by making 4 of these to make a much larger quilt, maybe quilt as you go. Thanks for the inspiration and fun video!
I just saw this on the 14th of October, and my brain immediately thought “ 4 of these would be great!” . Then I scrolled down and saw this comment Mary Anne.
I'm planning to make a quilt for a co-worker's baby in the lone star pattern. This pattern will give me a chance to try it out first on a not so difficult pattern. Thanks!
This would make a beautiful baby quilt. Or make 4 - 6 of these blocks for a quilt of valor quilt. Thank you for such a gorgeous that is really easy to make. Love your tutorials.
Hello I have just found your channel. Nicely done. I’m looking forward to more videos. I have sew many fat quarters from subscriptions……what a wonderful way to use them up. All the best Sandra 🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦
Have you watched their destash show on Saturday nights on You Tube? They sell fabric for $6 a yard in several different cuts - 3 yard cuts, 5 yards, 5- one yard cuts in a bundle, etc. starts at 5 pm Las Vegas time. You can only but during live shows, but you can go back and watch reruns if you’d like an idea of how it works. 😀 I have gotten some nice fabric.
Hello! Thank you for watching! That is the great thing about quilting! You can use any design you want and that your machine can create! You can also bring your finished quilt top and backing to our Sew Yeah Quilting store at 3690 N. Rancho Dr. Las Vegas NV 89130 and we can quilt it for you! You can choose for one of our many, many quilting design options! Hope to see you soon!
I saw the comment about using 4 to make a giant quilt... I was thinking similar except by making smaller stars to border it or at least one on every corner with a thick black border...
You know, that would make a great Memorial Day, Presidents Day, Independence Day banner done in Americana red, white, and blue fabrics on a Navy blue background.
ೋღ☃ღೋ G'Day T-Man from Australiaೋღ☃ღೋ This makes a great quick easy quilt! Thank you for sharing and showing us how you make it! I have done it in 20" squares and it was beautiful. P.S. SWool fibers on a sheep have flat, overlapping scales that always point away from the sheep's body. When these wool fibers get processed and made into clothing, however, the fibers are stretched out. ... No felting takes place on sheep in the rain, so they don't shrink!
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching! Please text TRADE to 833-351-0814 to receive notifications about our live events and to receive exclusive offers! See you soon!
I have a quick question. A couple of years ago I was told that you don't ever iron an open seam because the fabric to one side held a quilt together better. Is that true? When I first started quilting, my Mother-in-law told me to press the seams opened because a quilt laid flatter. Help!
Hi! Both methods are great depending on the situation. Pressing open when lots of seams come together in one spot is a good idea, but pressing to the side is ideal when using a light and dark color together, and you can press adjoining seams in opposite directions so they will meet against each together when placed right-sides together for sewing. It's up to you! We hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I have a small herd of sheep and I always ponder the question of why I shrink all my wool items but it never happens when it is attached to the animal🤔

Hey mister. The Quilt Police is going to get you for using all different methods when pressing your seams :D lol And now I really want to know why sheep don't shrink. It's that because they are relaxed??? (not 'agitated'?). I can't figure out how to spell your name so I won't butcher it :D
LOL! Thanks so much for watching! It is spelled Teancum. It's not easy 😀 To receive notifications about our live RUclips events, please text TRADE to 833-351-0814. Hope to see you again soon!

I watched clear to the end. The answer is agitation. There’s no agitation. ; )
Love this quilt and the colorful fabric, which is Speckled by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society.
Thanks so much for watching! We are glad you enjoyed the video!
The lanolin that costs their fleece prevents the absorption of water, therefore no shrinkage.
