    There's a 3d effect you get from hardware that you can't get in the digital realm. The best plugins have the "character" of the real thing at best. The more you stack stems from analog vs digital the wider that gap in sonic excellence becomes.

      no there isn't lol that's called "placebo effect" and "sunk cost fallacy" there's no such thing as "3d affect" on mono audio lmao. the only "3d effect" in audio is called dolby atmos surround sound which is ... wait for it ... SOFTWARE!!! 😂 some day these myths and delusions will die smh

    • @v3zMedia
      @v3zMedia Год назад +14

      @@xlilxillx "3d" is description of a sonic characteristic. If you can't hear it you might need you're ears checked or simply just don't have trained ears to begin with. There's not a huge community of people buying and mixing in Analog for a placebo affect. Plugins will always have their place which is why many of us have hybrid setups. Also Adobe Atmos still need the right hardware to work correctly. You also focused on Mono as if stereo also doesn't exist still. All of which missed the point in the first place. You may also want to look into the difference in what happens with you clip using hardware vs software. Since YOU can't hear the difference I recommend you buy a scope so that you can SEE the difference between the 2. They simply yield different characteristics sonically. Which isn't even rocket science in 2023.

    • @xlilxillx
      @xlilxillx Год назад +7

      @@v3zMedia i think there is a lot of people buying hardware either because they’re duped by the marketing “dude it like sounds more 3D!” Or they just want to flex or charge more for studio time or even just the novelty and nostalgia of it. Any sound hardware can make can be replicated via software cheaper and easier & on more channels. Oversampling and floating point push any digital artifacts out of the audible range, but it doesn’t really matter anyway. A good song or good marketing will overcome any audio imperfection. Every major album has audible clipping, ppl just don’t notice or don’t care. It’s only important to audio engineers & snobs like us lol and I’ve learned not to care so much either. UAD in the box with smashed clipping masters are winning grammys these days 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@v3zMedia I have used software plugins for over 10 years and the biggest difference for recording vocals for me recently was using a hardware UA LA-610 MK II. It puts my plugin stack to shame. The difference in loudness is ridiculous, I can not believe how much I can boost the actual volume, it sounds so fat and huge but it all just blends so well together at the same time. I went from using like 7 plugins to just a simple compressor and reverb, and it sounds SO much better. I like to think I was getting a really decent sound with plugins, but a good hardware preamp is so underrated in my opinion. I do get @xlilxillx's point for sure, the software can get some great effects. I still think it's twice as much work using software plugins, while using hardware is practically effortless. I can not emphasize enough what this does for my vocals, it just makes the nuances shine. I kept thinking I was the issue, but this thing just blew me away, and I can hear it on so many great recordings.

  • @ElMarko2000
    @ElMarko2000 4 месяца назад

    Bro, neither of them has a compressor (1.28). Also, your hardware is a 1073SPX. I believe the UAD version is modeled on a much older version of the 1073, so you wouldn't expect them to be exactly the same. If I had the space & money, I would love a hardware unit but the plugin is so close, I use the plugin all day long. And of course, you can use the plugin multiple times in your DAW, which you can't do with the hardware (unless you print the audio with multiple passes).
