The question is, if they do, price will obviously increase. If tigor is same price as Nexon with only 50-75km more range, how many people will actually buy Nexon?
They also have to think about the overlapping in prices of cars
You want cheap EVs and then complain the battery doesn't last even 2 years, with petrol crossing 100rs and electricity is 5rs per unit in the long term an ev costs the same if not less than a petrol car

In general it’s observed that
200km : 30kWh
300km : 40kWh
400km : 55kWh
500km : 70kWh
650km : 100kWh
70kWh battery will 2x heavier than current Nexon battery (260kg to 520kg). Chassis is not ready for that.
Secondly, the physical size of battery will also be too large to fit in sub-4m suv. Tesla model 3 with 75kWh battery goes 520km but that Sedan is nearly same size as a BMW 330i. (Ie much larger than Nexon)
Current battery prices are around 120$/kWh so 70kWh means 8400$ or ₹6.3L for battery. Even if you could somehow ignore the extra weight and size of 70kWh battery, the price will increase by 3.6L or so over existing price. So price of top model will actually exceed 20L.

If someone wants to know the true range of EVs, I would recommend you to have 5 adult passengers in the car and test it. Weight is also a key factor for range test. I haven't seen anyone or any EV manufacturers giving range capacity with full weight.

Tata motors should start setting up universal charging stations in every city where there are already 5 Nexon/Tigor EVs.

Pricing is good, but range should have been around 350kms and also rear Ac blowers should be mandatory in any car abc 10 lakhs.

In Rajahmundry u can get TATA Tigor EV for 12.15 lakhs for base model onroad ad 13.20 lakhs for XZ plus Dual Tone you got Nexon EV for 14.7 lakhs for base model and 17.8 lakhs for top model so for us Tigor EV is much more cheaper than Nexon EV

Waiting for Tiago EV. EV's make perfect sense as a city car or a second car to drive within a 100 sq, km. Range anxiety is not going to be solved by increasing the range to 600 km. As he says Tigor makes no real sense. Anything above 200 km real world mileage is pretty much the same to my thinking. The moment Tiago EV is launched I will be selling couple of my Hatchbacks used by the family for city commute and will buy the Tiago EV instead.

Mileage shall be in km/kw and not kw/km.
In case of Tigor EV, mileage shall be between 7.14km/kw to 7.70km/kw, rather than impractical 0.13kw/km to 0.14kw/km.

Streamline design like sedans are much more likely to get better Range from a smaller battery pack. There is a reason Tesla makes Sedans, and Not SUV design cars and gets excellent range.

Was excited for this car wanted to buy this for my dad. but after reading the reviews of problems from many many Tata Nexon ev owners 😭. Felt like the indian made ev's still need to evolve to be more reliable.
So yes reliability would be the real question that needs to be answered.

Because most of the people don't use regenerative braking and also accelerate the ev out of the limit. If you don't use brakes at all and keep the car below 80, Which is the safe speed then you can get about 300 km range

50-kWh battery with a range of about 220 miles (350 km) - tesla model 3 standard version . / tigor ev - 306 km with 26 kw battery . tata ev management think customer is a fool while the reality seems otherwise. They should sell their tech to Volkswagen and tesla .
