Thankyou x3. I was born in Colleridge Rd Weston-Super-Mare in 1956 and its lovely to see how it used to look. My favourite shops were Drivers and Weston decorators in Boulevard.
THE LOSS OF THE TROPICANO SWIMMIMING POOL, ( BUILT IN 1937 ) ( WAS THE LARGEST OPEN AIR SWIMMING POOL IN EUROPE (10,200 SQUARE FEET ) AND, ART DECO DIVING BOARD, THE HIGHEST IN EUROPE, WAS THE GREATEST LOSS TO WESTON. IT TRIGGERED THE SEA FRONT'S DOWNWARD NEGLECTED TURN, MADE WORSE BY THE DISASTEROUS FIRE, THAT DESTROYED THE MUCH LOVED VICTORIAN PIER. NOW REPLACED BY A MORE MODER DESIGN WITH MORE FACILITIES. WHICH HAS TAKEN A DECADE TO RECOVER FROM--BUT, THERE ARE, GOOD AND CLEAR IMPROVEMENTS,THAT, OBVIOUSLY WILL NEED FAR MORE MONEY TO COMPLETE. LIKE ALL BRITISH RESORTS, ON A NICE WARM SUNNY DAY, OUR RESORTS ARE AS APPEALING AS EVER.

That was the good old days. It will never come back
In about 1929 my dad's family left Bristol for Weston. I hardly knew my dad. So I know very little of their lives there.
Wonderful days 🎉
JUDGING BY THE CARS AND CLOTHES, THIS LOOKS LIKE THE 1950'S-60'S. i REMEMBER IT WELL.
