Story:
As Ducklingtuft leads Lostclan towards Windclan territory, the other clans are summoned to defend. Sparkstar is particularly determined to stop him.
He follows Ducklingtuft to the moonpool where he is trying to communicate with starclan. Consumed by his anger, Sparkstar attacks Ducklingtuft in the moonpool, nearly drowning him until Slipclaw comes to his leader’s defence. They battle in the moonpool until realizing Ducklingtuft’s lifeless body floating in the pool. Sparkstar is shocked by the realization he had just killed his mate.
In starclan, Ducklingtuft is surrounded by starclan cats. Most of them are familiar except one. A blue Tom that stands out from the crowd. Ducklingtuft approaches, having prepared for this moment for many moons. He pleads his case and demands recognition for his clan. The blue cat tells him of a fifth clan lost to history. He claims Ducklingstar as leader of Skyclan.
God, love the twist of Ducklingtuft dying only to get his nine lives. Peak drama.
I like how Swiftstar is the only Starclan cat to show emotion, with emotion showing what seems to be concern, possibly even worry. Seeing as Ducklingstar still hasn't really grown or improved and is now given the power that he was after anyway, for Swiftstar it's basicallly watching a cat follow in his and Sootsong's exact footsteps, and he knows from personal experience that it's not a good thing. I also like how some of the cats in Ducklingstar's group look like they may end up fuelling his need for power rather than dim it due to their own desires. I also like how Thunderstar looks the most disgusted and horrified of the leaders, as I feel like when seeing Slip and Duckling together like that he is reminded of himself and Swift. When seeing Ducklingstar, it's like seeing Swiftstar for him all over again. But, unlike those two Thunderstar has grown and matured from his past, so I feel like while he'll be the one most closed off about it, I also feel like he'll be the one most open about the new change at the same time. Because if Ducklingstar is still a better cat than Swiftstar, so Thunder may end up seeing some hope of change in him that others can't. After all, if he himself could change from his reckless ways, then maybe so can Ducklingstar
Great video! I enjoy following Ducklingtuft's struggle for leadership, and don't really agree with the idea of him falling to corruption given his actions. While I understand that a lot of hurt was dished out within the polycule, I don't see him wanting to be leader of a clan as a bad thing. Given he's prepared his whole life to take on the responsibility, it makes sense he would feel dissatisfied being a deputy forever. He has a right to work towards something that fulfills his potential, and the addition of a fifth clan doesn't have to be a negative. The only reason war had broken out was because the other clans chose to see his clan's inclusion as a bad thing, and reacted violently for the sake of their own egos. Now of course I understand the other side too given the sootstar situation and how Duckling went about his clan's creation, but I don't think ambition should be posed as a negative here like it is in the books. I see Ducklingtuft's whole thing as 'character is grappling with feelings of hurt and betrayal, as well as what it means to lead a clan' instead of 'this character is following in the footsteps of a tyrant and will lead things to ruin'. I know my perspective will seem weird to others, and I expect things to go in the ladder direction, given that's what most creators do for characters like this in the Fandom, but I genuinely hope that Duckling is able to overcome the dark emotions he has and lead the clan peacefully with Slime's help. I'm rooting for him in spite of whatever flaws he has, and don't think we should give up on him over harsh words and assumptions.
saw this video and then realized you've got a whole series for it. let's just say i binged it all in one sitting and then rewatched some a few times. especially once i realized that the familiarity of some names and plot points is not a coincidence lmao. i absolutely ADORE your designs and how you portray the story and how it progresses!

I remember seeing your first DreamClan PMV the first time around and being very intrigued. I saw some of your more recent animations pop up on my Recommended, then I checked out your channel and found this playlist. I'm loving the story! It's clear you put a lot of thought and personality into your characters. Your artwork is amazing, too! I used to do work on a Warriors fanfiction that I poured a lot of my heart and soul into - over 500 pages of writing - but I ultimately discontinued it to focus on original works. It's so cool that you're putting so much effort into DreamClan's story! Keep doing what you're doing.
