This is one of the songs that he wrote that made me realize he was a songwriting genius. I can play the guitar and I learned to play several Nirvana songs including this one.
As I learned the chords, I said to myself: what a strange chord progression this is. It goes up and down in an unusual pattern and then repeats. It wasn’t that easy to get used to and then it hit me! This is brilliant! Then I knew he was an exceptional talent.
And Chris, the bassist, once said that he was great because his Art drew you into his world and it was original. I agree completely! You can’t help but be drawn in and won over. It was that powerful and the music has lasted the test of time.
You seem to agree!
Cheers!
I agree but his name is Krist
highly recommend Where did you sleep last night? from their Unplugged show. That's a great concert to watch to see another side of Kurt's insane talent
Where did you sleep last night… Absolutely the greatest live performance kurt/nirvana has done IMO. Goosebumps everytime when Kurt’s starts his tormented scream in the last chorus and then the gasp before last part is just chilling. No live performance will ever out do it.
Literally every song from their unplugged is worth watching
@@Arpitmusic69 NIRVANA unplugged is/was/will always be the Greatest live performance ever IMO!
@@mattm8689 followed by Alice in chains...mtv unplugged is ruled by grunge😁
@@Arpitmusic69 👏🏻it’s absolutely right up there. I would say it is the best unplugged besides Nirvana to be sure! AIC was 🔥
Please check out Aneurysm live at the paramount. It's insane
I was hugely into nirvana back in high school. Was so sad when he died, wish I had been able to see them live.
Being from Seattle, The Paramount was a part of my life from childhood……a grand old movie theater turned into a music venue in the 70’s…….spent many a great evening there.
I saw Nirvana here in Southern California in 1993. It was for their in Utero tour. They played all their songs . His voice never gave out. Destroyed all instruments for like 15 minutes at the end of the concert. Best concert ever...
Kurt found his calling - I missed their last tour bf his passing - it was at the Astro Hall in Houston Texas but my nephew saw it - wow thanks again your awesome
yaaaassss!!!!!! more live Nirvana 🙏
The live and loud in Seattle is the best version of this song
Great choice Syed
I was born in Seattle in 2000, years after the local music scene’s peak. One of my great memories was attending the anniversary screening of this show AT the Paramount. I felt like a little kid again getting as close to possible as attending a Nirvana concert. Thank you for sharing!!!
All of Nevermind is great! I was surprised the first time I heard it on Cassette. Remember Cassettes? I bought the Cassette as a cheap way to check it out.
My first reaction was I was blown away by Teen Spirit because of how powerful it was. Then I thought incorrectly that the rest of the album is probably filler that’s not very good.
I was pleasantly surprised that one song after the next was good. Then the beautiful sad finish of Something in the Way really impressed me.
I had to turn it over and listen again to confirm it. And I then realized the album was great! It still holds up as one of the greatest albums of all time. I also like Insecticide a lot. It has Aneurysm and Big Long Now on it and other early gems.
It’s just sad that it ended all so fast.
RIP Cobain-I hope he found the peace he was looking for.
I wonder where he is now. Nowhere and everywhere, I guess. Once you’re in the Black, there’s No coming back. As Neil Young said in his song.
You really should check out their MTV Unplugged set. Nothing short of amazing
I like Nirvana
Please react to Sappy by Nirvana sometime. (Very underrated song)
Lounge act by Nirvana
Aneurysm from this same concert is one of the best performances in Nirvana's career, also one of their best songs. Definitely worth a watch.
Check out Aneurysm Live in Amsterdam. (1080p Paradiso)..the whole show🔥..besides Come As You Are which Kurt intentionally butchered lol
@@chrislain1349 Nah, man. The mix in the Parmount version is better and makes it sound heavier. Plus the entire concert was shot on film, so it looks way, way better than the home movie camera the Paradiso concert was shot on.
I like the 8mm on the Paramount show but the 1080p version of Paradiso show is tops for me…you’re not topping the heaviness of Floyd the Barber at that show.. To each their own.
And I’m talking about their performance and sound. The video quality is obviously better on the Paramount show.
@@chrislain1349 Plenty of Nirvana fans regard their Paramount concert as the best they've ever done, so yeah, to each their own.
Thank you for doing this - damn I got goosebumps- I've heard it said Kurt was the last " Rock star"
yh he was the last of a kind
@@SyedRewinds thank you sir - you made my day oh and I loved the comment about your TRIP to Amsterdam lol
I really enjoyed your Dark Side of the Moon reactions 😅 infact that's how I first found you baby cakes 😌
I love your Nirvana reactions and I hope you'll keep making them 😊
If you want to see more live performances I recommend you check out the same Paramount performance, but to the song Aneurysm. They really deliver the intensity and is one of my favorite lives of them.
Nirvana - a band with a very punk attitude to songs & performances across the years and many different venues their sound varies a lot. The best sounding live concert from them was probably The Reading Festival ‘92 performance. Overall their sound was very big on that outdoor concert.
You should try reacting to any of the songs from that live concert which has been professionally released, my personal favorite is Aneurysm (Live) at Reading ‘92
Try Nirvana- Milk it
blue is my fav colour too
I used to watch the video of this concert
Hallowe'en near home. So good. Would've loved to go out trick-or-treating with 'em. Don't much mind that the lyrics get scrambled a bit in a couple of places, the power and internal chemistry is all there. Pretty sweet. More Paramount, please.
I’m really enjoying your videos!! You should check out Nirvana Something in the Way - live on MTV unplugged. You will not be disappointed
Do Lounge Act next
Check out Hole- "Doll Parts".............Courtney Love was Kurt Cobain's wife...hole is her band
this whole show is an experience, honestly, wish I was there.
my faves would be Aneurysm, Drain You, Territorial Pissings & Breed from this concert.
Someone already mentioned it, but it’d be interesting to see you check out their MTV Unplugged performance, especially Where Did You Sleep Last Night. that shit is magical
You gotta listen to the 1992 VMAs version imo the best version of all
Highly recommend reacting to Breed to Breathe from Napalm Death... that's a good one
Always really enjoy ur reactions so in depth with emotion and with a very intellectual perspective.. thank u
The best recorded Nirvana show is Paradiso 1080p, I believe it was 2 months before this concert. They were super tight, energetic and powerful!..Aneurysm/School/Floyd the Barber/and the best performance of SLTS
Or just type in “Nirvana Live in Amsterdam”
great video as always! i recommend listening to radio friendly unit shifter by nirvana!
Kurt was always trying to get the best sound he could out of his amps and pedals he used, he had lots of different sounds but always with the same result 😆
The lyrics to this song are not ‘I’m not gonna CRACK’; they’re ‘I’m not gonna CRY.’ I sometimes feel I’m the only person what knows this.
Good gig
Hmm.. indeed. Yes. Uhum..ok that's fine
Thank you ❣️
You’re welcome :)
You should definitely react to when they butchered smells like teen spirit on purpose because they got told that they couldn't play their instruments live and had to act like they were playing them. However the band argued back and it ended up with them allowing kurt to do the vocals live, lets just say he didnt let the good opportunity go to waste and gave the biggest middle finger to them he could
So I'm the only one. Wow I feel special 🤣
you should react to milk it (also by nirvana)
Especially lithium
Good bass player too. Pity about the drummer.. I hear he went on to form a disco band
breed would be a great song to react to
I can talk about anything! Hi Syed! 😌🙂😗😭
I don't think I've listened to the nevermind album once I got live recordings of the songs
Just for fun same song at live at the reading festival
Pls next do reaction Aneurysm live vers.
Oh.. hello Syed! How are you 😉
I dunno he still had brilliant performances later on
