Man you've done an amazing job reacting to these nirvana's songs. This is not an easy one to hear for someone that is not used to the more heavy sounding side of the band, but you got it completely. I hope you keep checking out more of their songs, maybe one from their first album "Bleach", which are simplier but also have a rawness that am sure you will appreciate.
yeah it might be time to switch to the first album now and see how the sound changes. Thanks for the kind words
One of my favorites
"you can't fire me cuz I quit" is kurt's dark sense of humor at its darkest
nah it's just the book he was inspired from
@@lucutsa if you quote something because you find it funny, it still falls under the rubric of "your sense of humor". I hope you had a fleeting moment of happiness with your "well actually"
Fun fact: Dave Grohl (the drummer) wrote the riff and...his drums really shine here. This was a great indication of what was to come, as he quickly evolved into a rather solid songwriter. Watching him play this live is mesmerizing. He's from a punk and hardcore background, so he can play quite fast. He makes playing this look very casual, while there are an astounding number of sounds coming out of his kit.

He plays the drums with so much intensity. Awesome bit of info there, the riff is amazing!
i love this song and it AMAZED me to recognize that it was about a book I had read as a kid........................and apparently kurt read as well
its a bizarre and haunting horror story btw.............
@Cantona_81 perfume
Completely underrated Nirvana song...
"Endless Nameless" from Nevermind is even more brutal.
'In Utero' is my favorite album of theirs, because it shows "what could have been", so to speak. Even if they had broken up as a band, which was supposedly all-but-confrimed in 94, Kurt would've done things that would've even further impacted generations. It's like if Maynard James Keenan's wife had him killed after TOOL made 'Aenima' 🤘💙
The way Kurt showed the world his pain on this album is just wild in retrospect.
Fingernails through the soul. Wow that's poetic af.
It's the music that brought it out. The sound of this track is so intense, thanks for the comment 🙏✌️
One of the best Nirvana's songs ...powerful, raw, hard as a rock in your face after your skin get peeled !
Everytime I listen to this song or hear it like now lying in bed I still wanna scream along with him and stomp my foot while I head bang lol. Kurt's vocals are so fucking raw in this song, it's a fucking banger!!
Kurt's vocals are unreal, he can be melodic or just full of rage
New sub. I like your take on this, specifically "the sound inside the Joker's head". Heath's Joker, to me, though any psychopath, as you said, if it wasn't sociopath. Just returned from a link shared below to Dave Grohl's old band Scream, his first recorded original, iirc.
Anyway, good take, erudite 'n' all, eh? I'm being funny, I was born in London, moved to Crawley at a year old, we came to Toronto in '64 when i was 7 and a half, Used to teach kids in an after-school rock-band program '98-00, put 'Teen Spirit', 'Lithium' and 'In Bloom' in the book. Cheers. Have a great bunch of days, etc. ttyl8r.
haha thanks for the kind words, all the best brother
I have to say, you have the best reactions I’ve seen, great job!
This story was made into a movie in 2006 called perfume, staring Dustin Hoffman and Ben Wishaw. It’s really good and deserves a watch on your free time
Great reaction mate - should defo check out montage of heck when u get the chance, an amazing insight into Kurts life also would love to see a paper cuts reaction from their first album. All the best
Someone else suggested the doc, I'm super invested now so will check it out eventually. Also thanks for the track suggestion 🙏✌️
Love your spontaneous yet deep takes on the lyrics and song! Possible recommendation, I think you'd like it both musically and lyrically: Sonic Youth "Hits of Sunshine".
I love your Nirvana reactions! Please keep them coming! ❤️ I love the Live n Loud performance of this song.
Thanks for the kind words 🙏 a few ppl have suggested that one, will deffo check it out
Excellent reference to the paintings of Francis Bacon. Quite agree.
A really cool take on the song. You've made me want to go check out some nirvana songs 🎵
They make great music, check them out!
Man if you love this you will love '' Tourette's '' and there live peformance of Radio Friendly Unit Shifter on Live and Loud way more heavier then the studio version
Their heaviest track is "Negative Creep" his screams on that track give me chills, def check it our its a first album classic
A few ppl have suggested that one. Will do! 🙏🙏
great video! please keep the nirvana reactions coming!
will do mate thanks!
I know im late
But if you are surprised by the agressivity of the song, compared to the story of the book which seems pretty wholesome,
Well the twist of the book is that the main character grows up to be a complete sociopath and goes on a rampage to kill young girls at night lmao
btw this was not the original album mixing.
I like how you've looked into the background of these songs and everything! Could you react to Negative Creep by Nirvana?
thanks for the kind words man, I try and make these videos as interesting as I can. Nirvana fans can relive a song through my reactions and new fans hopefully have their eyes opened to the great music. I'll add it to the list!
@@SyedRewinds If you review Negative Creep you should watch the live version of it "Negative Creep live at the Paramount 1991"
@@waynetables6414 A couple people have suggested this performance, I might have to just react to the whole set. Thanks for the suggestion
Harsh, violent, surreal and disorienting, angry and incredibly hard hitting and powerful. Also a disturbing take on death. A Swan Song for Kurt?
Nice take! :) when you can I think you should totally check out tracks by the Smashing Pumpkins from their Gish, Siamese Dream, & Mellon Collie Albums ☺️
great name for an a album lol, added to the list!
Good job man 👍
You should try the song “Aneurysm” live at the Paramount on Halloween 1991. They just started hitting it big 🤟
ohh its always cool to see a band who are just started to put it together, figuring out they have something special. Thanks for the comment!
That song is another great one. You really can't go wrong with nirvana
For all of kurts pop songwriting skills, he could still do unhinged and wild like few others
At around 10:40 ish mark you talk about nirvana building the song up into a super powerful ending. Just wait till you see them trash all the gear at the end of shows 😆, I have a favorite picture of Kurt jumping with his guitar sideways into the drum set. If you really jump into nirvana your gonna learn about an amazing person who left us way too soon. You will learn about a very large conspiracy that has to do with him possibly being murdered, I heard you say you had watched a interview with Kurt talking about the song, 2 documentaries you can jump into. Soaked in Bleach, about the detective who was hired by Kurt's wife to find Kurt for being considered "missing" around the time of his death. The other, Montage of Heck, I feel it paints a better picture of who Kurt was but a little upset that Courtney had part in this doc, either way it might shed some light on these song reactions. ✌️
Ive also seen Kris throw his bass guitar in the air and have it hit him in the head lol they were wild!
@@SyedRewinds you should try to find, live and loud and live at the paramount
Keep up the grunge man
Will do mate!
please, listen "Sappy". This is a best Nirvana song in my opinion
not heard that one, I've added it to the list. Thanks!
obviously not the easiest and radio friendly nirvana song to get into, this one is pretty dark , the live and loud version is cool too ..but cool reaction
yeah its clearly designed to be hard hitting and raw, still an awesome track though. Thanks!
I like how you try to interprate every song not many reactors do it.
Listen to Territorial Pissings and Paper cut from Nirvana would love to know your views on it.
Thanks for the kind words man, just a lover of great music 🙏✌
Milk it and Tourette make lithium sounds like a baby too
some of their music is so hard hitting and intense, thanks for the suggestion
рекомендую послушать “Serve The Servants” и “All Apologies”
а ещё “School”, “Paper Cuts”, “Love Buzz”, “Been A Son”, “Aero Zeppelin”, “Dive”, “Aneurysm”, “Sappy”, “Drain You”, “Territorial Pissings”, “On A Plain”, “Stay Away”, “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle”, “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” и “Endless, Nameless”
Great suggestions, thanks for the comment 🙏✌️
This album was meant to be more raw and hard hitting, because they felt the mega selling album before was too polished.
I can totally see that. Lithium in particular was super polished, not to say it isn't a brilliant song. This song was dirtier. Thanks for the comment 🙏✌️
U got to react to smells like teen spirit
Defo on the list mate 🙏✌️
those drums needs to be sampled more often, I think. Missed opportunity
Check out nirvana unplugged
Will do Hank!
Can u react to in bloom by nirvana? Its my fav by them
Ive not heard that one, ill deffo add it to the list. Thanks for the comment 🙏✌️
Jeff Buckley Mojo Pin
react to ANEURYSM ...
Fucking analysis of Nirvana. I'm glad Kurtz is dead not to see this. It's a fucking primal scream nothing else, don't overanalyze it.
lol again ew
I'm sorry you didn't like it, thanks for the comment though!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🖖🖖🖖 whats up!
