  • This was daylight hours around a quarter to seven on a summer evening, passing by Rittenhouse Square on the number 21 SEPTA Bus. We were under a tornado warning, with a potential funnel cloud formation reported about 13 miles to the southwest and moving northeast at 50 miles per hour. No tornado actually touched down in Philly and by the time I got off the bus the wind was much tamer, though the rain was still heavy but I had my umbrella. The temperature was 88 degrees when I boarded the bus and had dropped to the point where I was shivering as I walked home. A beautiful day!
