What do you think about them drafting Edey ?
I believe they should try to go for Lauri though. We don’t need Trae or Donovan bc they’ll cost way too much. Maybe a Caruso or Dejounte instead.
I want to lakers derozon and monk valancunas bring back hays and camm reddish
Max Christie can be a nice two way player for us
1) Bring back DLO
2) Draft Zach Edey
3) Bring back Phil Handy for player development
4) Get a good Coach and Defensive Assistant
I think the underrated aspect no one is talking about is Ham's lineups that he screwed with near the beginning of the season when the Lakers were on a run and had dominated up to the IST. It happened right after the in-season tournament and we saw stuff like Ham cutting DLO's minutes, we saw him starting Prince over DLO, and Reddish over Reaves, we saw him throwing Rui in the starting lineup, and running an all defensive starting lineup with LeBron and AD trying to support, and the Lakers looked horrible and lost a lot of unnecessary games till the Coach put DLO back in the starting lineup. The Lakers then went on a 50+ win pace to end the season and DLO's play was a big reason for that. I think what some commentators aren't mentioning was that if Ham doesn't go through a stretch no other good Coach would put their team through (like playing Prince 30+ minutes a game and starting Cam Reddish over DLO or Reaves), the Lakers very easily would have won over 50 games this year. They won 47 despite Darvin Ham blowing a month of the season on horrible lineups. This Lakers team wasn't a 47 win team because "that's where the talent level was", they were a 47 win team because of their Coach's shortcomings. With a better Coach this Lakers team is a 53-56 win team or more. I think this needs to be talked about more.
Seriously, go look at the Lakers win percentage when Prince played less than 30 minutes, vs playing over 30. It will blow your mind. The Lakers were 28-8 when Prince played less than 30 minutes. That is insane! Especially when you consider Ham forcing Prince into a starting spot when no other NBA Team would since his 2nd season in the league. When you look at stuff like that you see just how much Ham held the team back by treating him as a starter. Then you see that Ham had a potentially 55-56 win team on his hands, but because of his own Coaching shortcomings and favoritism, they were a 47 win team that had to play the Nuggets in the first round. It's not "This roster isn't good enough", it's "the Coach is holding this team back". We all said it during the season while Ham fiddled around and never played the lineup that got us to the WCF, so why are we not talking about it now?
D Lo shoots under 40% CAREER in the playoffs... gotta trade him or let him walk.
@@schmitkeoriginals
If you let DLO walk you're a lottery team.
D'Angelo Russell is one of the best 3rd options for a team and for his price range is the best bang for your buck in the league. The Lakers will not be able to replace his production with the 6 Million they have to spend in the off-season.
D'Angelo can run hot and cold in the Playoffs, but a good Coach can take advantage of the hot stretches and win those games, which we should have done.
The 2 great Games DLO had in the Playoffs were Games 2 and 4, one the Lakers blew and one the Lakers won, and the one the Lakers blew wasn't because of D'Angelo Russell.
The Lakers blew Game 2 because Ham went away from both DLO and AD who were lighting the Nuggets up, and stopped using what worked. This was a problem with Ham all season, he would implement a strategy that would work, but then when another team went on a run because the Lakers offense had broken down and they'd gone away from it, Ham would never re-assert going back to the system and was content to just let things play out and teams got back into games they had no business being in.
This is how you can lead a team for 130+ minutes and still lose a series 4-1. Under a competent Coach the series is won by the Lakers 4-1 and not lost 4-1.
The Lakers lost Game 2, because they went away from what worked. They won Game 4 by going back to what worked.
Late in Game 4 when the Nuggets were making their run they had a choice, they could keep going to LeBron which lost them Game 2 because the Nuggets prepared for that and our offense broke down and AD barely got a field goal attempt, OR we could put the ball in DLO's hands and let him and AD go to work.
We did the latter, and in the 4th we ran 5 pick and rolls with AD and D'Angelo in a row and the Nuggets had no answer as the Lakers scored on each possession effectively putting the game away and out of the Nuggets reach.
A good coach does that OFTEN, Ham only did it sporadically.
Game 5 was when DLo was off from three point range, but he adjusted and started going to the basket for some success and late in the game hit some big shots that kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win, him and Reaves both did.
But that game was lost at the final possession when Murray had Reaves on an iso, Prince told Rui Hachimura to go switch so he could cut off Murray at his spot and Rui didn't do it or made a half hearted not real commitment and Murray raised up and hit the shot.
In all honesty if we want to talk about playoff letdowns? DLO isn't who we need to talk about, Rui Hachimura is. He came crashing down to earth HARD in the Playoffs and showed none of the desire on either end of the court the entire series. Rui was lost on Offense and on Defense and Michael Porter Jr destroyed the Lakers because of that. His half hearted commitment on Murray at the end of Game 5 was in microcosm him for the series.
I watch the T'Wolves and Naz Reid and how he defends them and commits and wish that Rui had an ounce of that commitment and desire. But he doesn't often enough, and has lazy stretches that happen often enough that the Wizards gave him to us for nothing. After last years Playoffs and this season we assumed Rui was over that, but he turned into "Wizards Hachimura" in the Playoffs and gave us the worst of him.
DLO at least put us in positions to win Games 2, 4 and 5. Rui was never there on either end, and that is who we should be talking about.
DLO being with us another season, averaging 18/6 on 42% shooting from 3 on 7 attempts a game and helping us get to the Playoffs is a necessity. Because the Lakers can't replicate that with anyone else, not without losing their entire team's depth.
What we need is a good Coach that knows how to both take advantage of DLO's hot streaks in the Playoffs, but also understands how to run a motion offense to get him wide open shots off double screens.
This is why I personally feel Kenny Atkinson(especially after a few years with the Warriors) is the right Coach for the Lakers going forward. We just need a great defensive assistant and to bring Phil Handy back.
But rest assured, if we lose DLO this off-season, we won't have to worry about him going hot/cold in the Playoffs, because we won't be a Playoff team.
The only problem with your assessment is that they’ve already fired Handy. I like Handy, I use his app for my basketball workouts, but I think the ship has sailed for him with the Lakers which is a god damn shame.
@@carrastealth Magic Johnson, you know - the greatest point guard of all time - didn't want D Lo. Rob brought him back, and he's been awful when it matters: THE PLAYOFFS. D Lo is 10ply 🧻🧻🧻 let him walk, or trade him.
@@carrastealth I argued Rui should start since preseason last year... I also argued to keep Schroder over D Lo, and spend the money on a TRUE BACKUP BIG. What do I know tho.
I cried when I heard about the WestBRICK trade 😭😭😭
I said to deal the two 1sts w Russ for Turner/Hield 🙀🙀🙀
We should go for Mark Jackson (head) + Rajon Rondo (assistant) + Phil Handy (player dev)... and sure JJ as an assistant too, but we 100% gonna get JJ as head coach, maybe it'll be ok.
They have to go BIG. Ham has an obsession with the all guard line up. PUT AD AS POWER FORWARD.
AD needs to get his shot back for that to work. Or they have to add a floor spacing center similar to brook Lopez.
We already were big this year just need more versatility like JSM said our backcourt defense has to be better
I think they should get Brandon Ingram, Alex Caruso, Andre Drummond
Smart 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Bringing Brandon Ingram to the lakers is like bringing Allen Iverson to the Nuggets.
I hope max Christie gets lots of playing time right away. I think he has potential to be a great two way player
1. I just heard that the Phoenix Suns might've acquired Budenholzer, so the search for a great coach just got harder.
2 I feel like they should trade Jaxson Hayes, D'Lo, and maybe a few rookies and SD for maybe Andre Drummond, Alex Caruso so that you have a 2 way guard thats more defensive-minded, plus generates a lot of turnovers for opposing teams. Andre Drummond is a bulky, solid 5 that led the league in RPG for a couple seasons, 2x Allstar, very physical interior presence on the defensive end, and an efficient rebounder that can get putbacks with ease, as well as score on his own.
3. I wouldn't mind BI returning to the LAL, bc now u have a very capable, efficient KD-esque small ball 4 thats a 3-level scoring machine, particularly efficient in the mid-range, purely a shot creator, and his height+wingspan gives him a high release point on his Jumpshot, making him a very hard player to lock up. Not to mention, he can play the SG/SF and PF.
4. I still think The Lakers should push for Dwight Howard, he's technically still a free agent, potentially a "hidden gem" for the defense.
5. Zach Lavine would be solid, an easy 25+PPG 3 level scoring SG that excels in the interior, especially during the fastbreak. Not to mention he's very capable of closing games, becoming very hot in clutch time, and very equipped with few holes in his offensive game.
6. This might be a very outta pocket, random wildcard that might shock some of these people in the comments so bear with me lol. #0 from the LAC, the Brodie...Russell Westbrook!!! and I'm saying this mainly bc it looks like he might try his hand in FA. And let's be real, LAL tried to convert him into more of a 3&d minded player, in an attempt to convert his playstyle in order to accomodate for playing alongside LBJ, and underutilized him because you couldn't have 4 ball dominant players in the STARTING LINEUP!!!! and when they moved him to the bench, his numbers dropped a bit, but he was much more efficient and effective because he was leading the 2nd unit as the main ballhandler. There was a few games he played OTB that he looked like his former self, also getting Triple Doubles; 5-6 in total, which I think is the most by a Lakers player since i thing the 90s. Plus, he got more minutes which allowed him to "progress" slowly, while still being effective. However, this time around, hypothetically speaking if he was to get reunited back with the Lakers, he can still be on the bench. More so, I'm not even saying he has to lead the 2nd unit, but it wouldn't hurt to have a seasoned veteran presence; a "veteran co-host" i call it lol, to be there off the bench with the ballhandler of the second unit. Realistically, i don't think that's bad.
7. Give Max Christie more minutes
8. Keep Taurean Prince, Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent and Austin Reaves, and Cam Reddish
9. Again, a great smart move resigning C-Wood.
Need to get rid of Rui Dlo and Reaves!!! If we can then keep DLO but in a off ball role as a SG to utilize his 3 point shooting
When the ideal offseason video dropping 😊
I think if you add a solid backup big, and a 2-way player, the Lakers are dark horse contenders. If you add a more consistent perimeter threat than DLo on top of those two, I think we are legit championship contenders.
That’s just Not enough. So many teams are beyond deep now, and a big and a two way guy doesn’t just move the needle much
The next couple drafts have some real franchise changing players. We need to find our own Anthony Edwards and draft is best way. Cannot have our best players in their 30s. Keep our first round picks and draft well. Also, Hire an elite shooting coach to help vando, AD christie Lewis and cam reddish so we have our 3 and d players.
In freeagency, I'd prefer Lakers to sign some of these players
Center : Goga Bitadze, Xavier Tillman or Andre Drummond (We need someone who can play physical and good inside defender)
Wing : Royce O'Neale, Kyle Anderson, Taurean Prince, Derrick Jones Jr, Robert Covington
Guard : Malik Monk, Alec Burks, De'Anthony Melton, Immanuel Quickley, Jordan McLaughlin, Svi Mykhailiuk, Delon Wright
For the coaching staff :
- Micah Nori as HC, Terry Stotts as Associate Head Coach, Phil Handy, JJ Reddick/Rajon Rondo, Sean Sweeney as assistant coach
- Aldeman as HC, Frank Vogel as Associate Head Coach, Phil Handy, JJ Reddick/Rajon Rondo, Sean Sweeney as assistant coach
For the draft, I'll be comment on your next video :)
what do i think? i think i knew they werent gonna make a deep playoff push after the trade deadline. im sorry but they need another person they can depend on steadily for offense and he has to be above average defensively, either a wing or a point guard who can bring the ball up the floor when needed for plays
Need a good coach who can develop the talent and push a defensive mindset again. Rui had like no attention for most of the season and Reaves really stagnated as a player. We have so much talent but it feels like none of them are utilized to the best possible way to
I’m not very optimistic for the next season. AD and Lebron playing for team USA, very limited pieces to move, very limited trade targets to acquire, I mean it just all seems in the Lakers opposition. However, if anyone can make shocking moves it would be Rob. He’s shocked us once, now it’s time to do it again. Lebron’s realistic last chance at winning a title all hangs on this offseason. The only way he wins after next year is if he plays on a veteran minimum contract and rides the bench for whatever contending team.
I think the Lakers only needed a half decent big man at the center position to advance in the playoffs and to perform better during the regular season.
JJ Redick/ Sam Cassell are the coaches of the Lakers, they are more knowledgeable of the game than any of the current candidates that have been considered. They are your coach that will take the team far into the future as well as a minimal contract initially. They will manage the locker room along with input from veterans LeBron and AD; they are players coachs and understands the needs of there coaching staff. We need two real bigs, Valanciunas/Drumond/Dwight ( ie 2020 chip) along side AD, we need a six man, Dramond/Bobby Portes etc. We need a two way guard to manage Jamall Murry and Anthony Edwards.... Demar/Donavan/Caruso/Keli Ubrea/Marcus Smart/JaMonte Murray/Brogden/Bones Hyland . We have the assets, the picks and the money to make this happen. Doc Rivers, Ty Lou, , Chauncey Billups had no direct coaching experience other than one of many assistant
They should look two way players in the draft
*definite agenda pushing but could be possible is some form.*
If D-lo doesn’t come back, sign and trade for Spida. Move AR to the point. Get another guard to replace Dinwiddie, preferably Monk. Resign Jack Hayes as a back up 5, sign Nic Claxton, start him at 5 and move AD to the 4. Resign Mad Max and if Cam doesn’t pick up, Royce O’Neale
Byron Scott (who does NOT want the HC job) on Undisputed with Skip & Keyshawn Johnson
Just backed me up & agreed with me !!!
📢 👉Re-Sign LBJ as Player/Head Coach
🤓🫡
All those who say trade AR do realize he only missing adding some weight , and defense which he been getting better at he gon have a break through season next season if he in the gym
Lakers best options at their 2 guards is either Donovan n AR bc we can play off ball n not much as a volume player as dlo, or go wit Dlo n Murray or Suggs. Either way we need a guard that can defend n a Center
AR is a defense liability
Kyrie. Championship experience, high IQ and great chemistry w AD & Bron
I'm worried about these centers now
JHS & Lewis for Cam Whitmore, try to get a big like olivier sarr or badji
LeBron and JJ to Cleveland
Dlo gatta go I'd take Spida another scorer on the perimeter and another Big or 2
Kyrie. Better option than Spida
@@LeGoatJames111 I agree but I don't think the Mavs will let him get away and I don't think Kyrie wants to leave but I would do that in a heartbeat
@@dwaynejackson1423 Kai’s outta there after they lose in the second round. Never made it past the second round w/o Bron
Lakers should make trade deals with Bulls to get Lavine or Lonzo, Derozan or Caruso, Vujecic or Drummond with Lebron and AD to bolster the lineup!
2020 Lakers 2024 Wolves both stopped the Nuggets. Simple Math of what this team needs.
They Haven't Stopped the Nuggets yet.

they need to find a big like a Steve Adams
we should reload instead of getting a new team every year. Maybe we can get just one bigs and 2 wings
Give cousins nd dwight a chance, we also dont need no 3rd star just some good 3&D guys
The Lakers should go after Nicholas Claxton to replace that McGee role
Donovan Mitchell can carry a team like he's doing with the Cavaliers
What the Lakers should do this off-season
1) trade for Caruso
2) sign Drummond
3) resign some of their free agents
Get back KCP or Carusso then sign Klay T./Hield and add Jonas V. plus Mcgee. Retain Ar, Vando, AD, James, Christie, Prince and Gabe.
The salary cap exists my friend
Im sorry but Lakers need a guard who can be at least a genuine 2 option for the lakers. The offence is too stifled with Bron and Ad running it.
All they have to do is draft that boy Kinect, and kel ware.... That will give them the offense and defense upgrades they need as rookies .... Plus trade rui nd Reaves with a 1 for Donovan Mitchell ... Give Christie more minutes like 6 man minutes... Keep dlo , vando, prince , pick up another cheap pure shooter ...
3 stars with minimums doesnt work. how many times do we have to see this
They need to trade for Alperen Sengun.
Yes, he's baby joker. Idk how they'll get him but him next to AD and then maybe draft Zach Edey would be legit
Use Max Christie
Three point snippers
Man I wish lebron would take a mid level exception so we can sign some good guys and actually win he has a lot of money already and want to win so what’s the problem and we need reeves and dlo
Phil handy or mark davis
The coach wasn’t the problem! Lebron was he wanna coach!let him
◾Donovan Mitchell with $34.8M pay, I think it's best to get Jalen Suggs, also a legit ball handler, defensive player, with good ball passing ability and shooting and most importantly, with only $7.3M salary.
◾Lakers needs big men, center position. May consider Markkanen, Valanciunas, McGee, Zach Edey and Sabonis. If they get 2 from these, it's very good. if they get 3, that's perfect. With that, they can always have 2 big men on the court. Say AD and Valanciunas. And Markkanen and McGee. McGee, Valanciunas and Edey were all minimum pay.
◾Get big, athletic players with defense from the free agency.
No hate please! My honest opinion.
Lakers need to get back Caruso
I love the content but skip the trade talk for note please allow guys to opt in or out first. Damn
Bro.,nobody in the league you can honestly say is better than LeBron.they need to build around him.
No trade don't trade AR
Step 1: highjack Lebron’s mind (think Inception) & have him take a modest pay cut
Step 2: sign Paul George in free agency
Step 3: Championship parade
The lakers should keep everyone but besides darwin he really needed to leave 😂
The lakers just need another good player like Alex carruso or Trae young
Trade for Johnathan Issac AND Lauri using Dlo and Rui respectively as centre trade pieces.
Aside from awful coaching, this team lacked of 2 way players, they are either offensively skilled OR defensively specialised. Vando showed glimpse of improved 3pt shot and made cuts to the basket. Reaves was barely passable on the defensive end(way too much overhelp) .
Dlo was soft and slow despite him trying much more than in the past. Rui was slow footed with poor defensive rotation awareness/instinct.
butttt....don't get me wrong
Bring back D-Ho #12
Lakers needs Dejounte Murray, Jalen Suggs, Zach LaVine, Jonas Valencinas, Andre Drummond sending out D'Lo, Rui Huchimura, Jaxson Hayes, Cam Reddish, Max Lewis,
Pg Dejounte Murr

Pg Jalen Suggs
Sg Austin Reaves
Sf J. Vanderbilt

The lakers also didn’t have a veteran type player that could coach the players on the bench , like the a rondo in 2020 , Andre iguadola for the warriors , everything we need we had in 2020 , bigs, veteran player, wing defender , decent shooters , 2 star players . Lakers just dumb asf for getting rid of them even thou some of them are old now but build off that team
hard no to JJ or any first time coach

What actual players would fix this mess though?
Get back Caruso
Get back Kuzma OR go for a dude like Turner

The Lakers are destroying the career of Max Christie, he could be a starter in this league. He needs the same chance just like Philadelphia player Tyrese Maxey got.
