  • Regardless of what you do or where you work you are a part of a business, and every single business needs to hire people.
    Hiring people is essential to the growth of the company, what kind of talent you are hiring, what kind of culture you are building, and the overall success of the company depends on the Talent Acquisition.
    Understanding Talent Acquisition might look and sound easy, but it's much more complicated than just interviewing people and sending job offers.
    Talent Acquisition can come in many different ways, I am sure that most of you know about the basic things like applicants, headhunting (sourcing), referrals, and events.
    But do you know what Talent Acquisition is, and how many things go under the "umbrella" of Talent Acquisition or in many cases Recruitment?!
    Talent Acquisition is so much more than you can imagine. Here are just some parts of Talent Acquisition that you didn't hear about.
    - Sales
    - Forecasting
    - Building a high-quality pipeline
    - Collaboration
    - Employer Brand
    - Marketing
    Sales is probably the most shocking thing, right? Trust me, we Talent Acquisition Specialists and Recruiters spend most of our time on the call with the candidates trying to sell them the idea of why they should work for our company.
    Forecasting might be one of the most difficult things that we do, we need to accurately predict when we will need people and when do we need to start looking for them. This is not an easy task, a lot of it depends on the business from the sales/customer side.
    The high-quality pipeline takes time to build because you are trying to find the best of the best candidates out there among a world of qualified people with amazing talent.
    Collaboration is self-explanatory but it does take a lot of time, communication, planning, scheduling and most importantly building relationships with your colleagues. The more collaborative team you have the faster you will close the position.
    We want to make sure that we also have a lot of applicants, but if you don't have a good Employer Brand you will not get those applicants and you will spend a lot of time sourcing candidates. Employer Brand takes years to perfect, but one single mistake can cost you months of work to fix it. You need to make sure that team members of your company are happy, this also means that you need to hire just the right people who will be happy in that kind of environment.
    Last but not least is marketing, once you post your positions and start looking for qualified candidates you need to market your position wherever and whenever is it possible. The more you market the position the more exposure you and your company will receive meaning that the next time when you open a position it will take far less time to close it.
    All of this is just a small part of what recruiters spend their time. If you truly want to understand what we are doing every single day, be sure to subscribe and like the video!

    Thank you for this video. My job just offered me a scholarship to join a certification program and become a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition or Business Development Rep. I have no real experience but researching both to see what one fits me more.

    I have an interview with a talent acquisition month ago. I still haven't got an update whether i got selected or not. Is that mean that they are planning or i simply assume that they are not interested even when i followed up after??

    Let me see if I really understood what you said.
    So as A talent Acquisitor, you approach potential candidates via Linkedin or different platforms and chat with them to see if they are interested in working for your company?
    If yes, does it requires you to make calls as well? Does a TA interview candidates? Or it’s only about seeking ones?

    • @MilanMraovic
      @MilanMraovic  2 года назад

      There are different layers of Talent Acquisition, but generally speaking in most companies the Talent Acquisition specialist will do the sourcing, contacting, first interview, and scheduling everything else. 😊

      @@MilanMraovic Ok I see. One more question, is there any job under the HR department where you only search for candidates and approach them in Linked-in via text or emailing them, and keep contact with them till they agree to go for an interview without you doing the interview itself.
      Which means your job only to seek and contact candidates, Hopefully, my question is clear enough

    • @MilanMraovic
      @MilanMraovic  2 года назад +1

      @@Abdellah.AB1 Yes, it might be called Talent Sourcer, Talent Researcher, Recruitment Sourcer, or anything that is connected with sourcing.
