I went to the Siani peninsula last year. I was a little concerned about security but the Egyptian government clearly takes security really seriously. The region represents a large tourism asset to the point that after a terrorist attack at Sharm El Sheikh years ago they went to the lengths of putting up a massive "peace wall" around the small city and very staunch and relatively high tech checkpoints where everyone is checked and questions are asked. There are more checkpoints and patrols near towns too such has Dahab and they actually seems to take their job seriously. "Rugged" barely describes the terrain. The jagged and incredibly crumbly vertical mountains would be actually impossible for a force to operate over. All the roads are overlooked by high ground and blind corners so it would be trivial for even a poorly trained force to mount a successful defence and stop movements. Just my two cents.
Sinai has two governerates, I went many times during that war to all the nice beaches in south sinai and it was completely safe. The war was happening in only certain parts in northern sinai. You were probably in the south. And yes the army and police thank god take security EXTREMELY seriously. We are smart hahahha
Was in the Sinai in 2018 at FOB North w/ the MFO Mission. The bombing they were doing was actually wild. Nightly firefights at the BPs all around the base. Host of shenanigans all around. Also have been surprised this whole thing hasn't received more press.
If people knew about it they might want to stop it, which would mean that Egypt wouldn't be given $1.3 billion a year that can only be spent with US arms manufacturers. If no one knows about it, it's good for Northrop Gruman and Raytheon.
This is a complete lie. Peacekeeping forces are not allowed to patrol Sinai. They are not like other peacekeeping forces in the world. They are only for observation and they are not armed.

I served in Sinai with the multinational force and observer force (MFO) from 2020 to 2021. We were very aware of this conflict. The efforts of the Egyptian armed forces to keep the region safe was not unappreciated.
@Sumsar333 the only real picture of the dude left is one that would get this whole video and channel removed from RUclips That AI monstrosity is an acceptable sacrifice to RUclips guidelines in my opinion XD
I was there in 2020-2021 USBATT68. It is a warzone, tracer rounds were seen at night, airstrikes around FOB North, loud explosions were constant, and some of our battles were shot at. They even had commercial drones flying at night; now, it might have been the Egyptian military flying them but there's a possibility that ISIS was flying them too.
As an Egyptian, i wanna thank u for this brief documentary. We suffered the atrocities by ISIS and Hamas for years. I just remember how the Egyptian ppl were shocked and, polarized afterwards, when 16 soldiers were killed by terrorists. And for years after, our country suffered turmoil, fear and blood, and not only in Sinai but they carried out multiple terrorist attacks in the heart of Cairo too. Thousands of soldiers and civilians have died in this war, may God bless their souls.
Fun Fact: Whenever Western Media felt the need to share the news about Egypt's war on terrorism with their people they often talked about how bad the Egyptian military is for treating terrorists so harshly, they wept for them and called upon Human Rights Watch to do another false report about Egypt. Every two days HRW would side with the terrorists and make a false report about Egypt, and at the same time our people were being massacred by them, they were on a mission to stop our Army from making our country safe. If you don't believe me go and read their reports about the war in Sinai, and you will know now that most of them were false for sure, but at the time you would have believed it and you would have called for the world to sanction Egypt like what Liberals did.
There does need to be accountability otherwise you end up with tyranny. For that to happen there needs to be scrutiny. While i can't comment on HRW & Egypt, all too often the shooting of messengers is done to evade scrutiny of atrocities being committed. With respect to this video it's good to have some light shed on this topic - which has largely been hidden/overlooked by western media. Good to see some spirited feedback in the comments too.

Hamas wasn't involved that we know of. They rely on Bedouin smugglers in this same area for their drugs and their guns, but we do not know if any of them were also rebels or vigilantes
Hamas is actually interested in chaos in the Sinai region. The reason is that Israel handles arms smuggling effectively, but leaves smuggling control on the Sinai border to Egypt as to not interfere with their sovereignty. So all that time that Egypt couldn't control ISIS, Hamas thrived.
i have an egyptian friend, and i mentioned how israel was going to be flooding hamas tunnels. he goes "yeah, in egypt, our savages (in a good way) in government dug a big 'fishery' and then trenched in sea water, then they just trenched to hamas tunnel networks and drowned them all down there."

i would like to highlight druing that period egypt image and global position were really suffering from the rule of the Muslim brotherhood which lead to a preserved weak image from a military point of view. hamas started to increase its smuggling, the brotherhood started creating more militias and the Libyan bored started flooding the country with weapons add a sharply declining economy and weak political leadership and that was the edge of the cliff for our military leadership that's why that had to take control. from then on forward it was a war on three fronts east, west and everywhere in between, the media blackout on the subject was a must in my opinion as the country needed to look secure just for the economy to stabiles, then the army started dozens of major military operations to restore nationwide security but heavily focused on Sinai and the libyan border. Sometimes its better to not know than know, case in point the Israeli military recognized the importance of having a stable secur egypt rather then having the 10th largest weapons arsenals in the hands for terrorist, and they didn't want u guys to know about that as much our government didn't want us know about the scale and extend of the war. that started a secret temporary alliance between egypt and Israel for the first time in history fighting the same enemy and securing the same border and our government was showing off on a weekly basis how much of hamas tunnels they were flooding and destroying. nowadays Israelis think that egypt is out to get them but the reality is the Israeli government is trying to score political points to appease to their people rather actually secure them and nobody will pay the bill more in the long run with these policies other than Isreals so today the tables have turned were u find the Israeli political leadership forcing the military leaders and the population into a war with no end as egyptians we didn't just understand it we lived it and in my opinion the Israeli military leadership seems to be the cool heads that should run the country. weird how we can have have a civilized conversation today and share battlefield tomorrow just because our governments said so

Isis was not in Egypt , isis was sneaking through tunnels from Hammas( Palestine ) and through Libea
The many lies in the video have been taken from the Egyptian police and government.
1- That 30 million were demonstrating with Sisi in 2013.
In fact, the Egyptian people were against the military coup and there have been no elections or democratic life since the 2013 coup. If it was a revolution, it would have become a democratic life. We do not have a parliament, a constitution, or a free media. All of them are tools of the coup and are appointed by Sisi and his police.
2- Tens of thousands of peaceful protesting young men and women were killed in the streets and hundreds of thousands were arrested in prisons by Sisi.
Even the first elected president was imprisoned for 10 years in solitary confinement without visits or legal right to defense.
3- The police and army led by Sisi bombed thousands of homes and killed innocent people in Sinai to displace them not because they were with ISIS.
4- You did not mention that Hamas helped the Egyptian army eliminate ISIS.

That’s a great point I hadn’t realized Egypt did this without American air strikes unlike Iraq and Syria . Impressive feat

it didn't need American Air power because it already has one. but you can see with the Obama admin the impact of delayed spare parts especially the Apache helicopter crippled Egypt's use of it. That changed with Trump because he likes money and is convinced.
it's also a major reason why Egypt then started lowering its reliance from American gear because of the delay or halt of spare parts by Obama admin.
besides the air most of Egypt's ground weaponry are US or refurbished soviet with mods. 95 to 97% of the Abrams for instance is being produced here I gues the optics is the thing that's imported.
but in the eastern border wiki leaks exposed that Egypt was working closely with French Intell to help control the border with Libya from smugglers and terrorists
Awesome and informative video man! Cheers from Australia.
You understand the situation very well, my friend.
At El-Gorah?
First surprise; ISIS there.
Second surprise; Americans there too.
If people knew about it they might want to stop it, which would mean that Egypt wouldn't be given $1.3 billion a year that can only be spent with US arms manufacturers.
If no one knows about it, it's good for Northrop Gruman and Raytheon.
because if something like this got released it would mark for tourists that egypt isn't safe which isn't true just the part of north sinai

Thousands of soldiers and civilians have died in this war, may God bless their souls.
we Egyptians suffering from Sisi terrorist
Crazy that I never heard about this
Watch the choice movie then and u will hear about it
Fun Fact: Whenever Western Media felt the need to share the news about Egypt's war on terrorism with their people they often talked about how bad the Egyptian military is for treating terrorists so harshly, they wept for them and called upon Human Rights Watch to do another false report about Egypt.
Good to see some spirited feedback in the comments too.

i would like to highlight druing that period egypt image and global position were really suffering from the rule of the Muslim brotherhood which lead to a preserved weak image from a military point of view. hamas started to increase its smuggling, the brotherhood started creating more militias and the Libyan bored started flooding the country with weapons add a sharply declining economy and weak political leadership and that was the edge of the cliff for our military leadership that's why that had to take control. from then on forward it was a war on three fronts east, west and everywhere in between, the media blackout on the subject was a must in my opinion as the country needed to look secure just for the economy to stabiles, then the army started dozens of major military operations to restore nationwide security but heavily focused on Sinai and the libyan border.
