    missing your favourite fluffy side? don’t worry a-bao it! because tonight on wok from home, it’s all about the buns. steve is sharing two of his favourite steamed bun fillings, vegan tofu + mushroom and spicy beef. plus, a bonus bun he likes to call a bao-nut

    If you’ve been cooking along with us you will hopefully have many of the wagamama sauces made already! But as usual, the ingredients are included in the video. for the buns, the recipe is also listed below

    beef bao
    -
    1x beef steak
    1x red onion
    2 tbsp firecracker sauce
    2 tbsp vegetable oil
    4 tbsp spicy asian slaw
    1 tbsp kewpie mayonnaise
    1 tbsp sriracha
    1 coriander sprig, leaves picked
    -
    vegan bao
    -
    30g mixed mushrooms
    100g firm tofu
    500ml vegetable oil for frying tofu
    2 tbsp gyoza sauce
    2 tbsp yakitori sauce
    4 tbsp spicy asian slaw
    1 tbsp sriracha
    1 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
    1 coriander sprig, leaves picked

    1x carrot
    1x cucumber
    1x red onion
    150ml spicy vinegar
    -
    matcha bao
    -
    1 bao bun
    500 ml vegetable oil for frying
    4 tbsp caster sugar
    2 scoops matcha ice-cream
    2 tbsp caramel sauce
    sprig of mint
    sesame seeds to garnish
    -
    caramel sauce
    -
    1 cup sugar
    6 tbsp salted butter
    1/2 cup cream
    1 tsp salt

      You can buy them in morrisons and sainsbury now, in the fridge/freezer section that's where I got mine

    These are my favourite thing in the restaurants the mushroom bun is delicious!

    What is the maynoaise /white sauce used for the pulled beef bao buns please, I can't get thr flavour right.. Its not normal mayo

      they use kewpie mayo in wagamama and many asian recipes. you can find it in asian stores.
