When Rachel brushed her hair out and went from anxious to absolutely feeling herself...peak adorableness, I love when good things happen to good people
Okay but now we need a vintage Snow White look! Also, my hair has just reached the “ I can’t deal with this” length and I am considering doing a big cut like this. Thank you for the inspiration and courage booster!
Oh man, you are at the best point. This is the time to do all the (hair unhealthy) things you might have wanted to try. Do weird heated hair styles, dye the ends in an ombre, look at Pinterest styles and go for it. Once you're done, done, with the length. Go for the snip. Growing it takes a while, but that's what wigs and extensions are for if turns out 'the snip is not it' 🤭. Have fun!
Yeah my hair was at that point as well. It was so dead that my split ends had split ends so I chopped it off and now I feel a thousand times happier with it.
The face when she saw how the curls brushed out made me SO HAPPY. It’s weirdly specific but one of my favorite moments ever is when people are happily surprised by how a new haircut looks. This was exactly the warm and fuzzy I needed this weekend, thank you for sharing this with us Rachel!
there’s something so satisfying about watching rachel make a big change with her hair and then have the video end with “i love it! don’t regret it at all” 💖💖 it looks so good and im so happy she’s happy
I have a longish face so everytime i went to get a haircut the hairstylist would always cut it longer than i wanted because "it wouldn't be flattering". Finally found a hairstylist that actually listened to me and said to me: its about your attitude and how you wear your hair and not just having to conform to a hairstyle thats "flattering" to your face shape.
This reminds me of my mom (a hairdresser like Rachel's mom) saying I shouldn't cut my hair too short or it'll make my face look rounder. I said "what if I WANT my face to look round?" And she went , "what if you want dates?" Then I made her cut my hair to the length I wanted and she came around when she saw how much I loved it.
Oh lucky, keep that hairstylist. I tend to avoid going at hairstylist for remark on how it's a lost to cut my long hair. -- long because nobody want to cut them at the lentgh I want and they grow ****ing fast.-- You have fond a pearl!
My hairstylist that I've had since I was a child always wanted me to cut my hair short as 'My long face makes long hair make it even longer, shorter would flatter you more'. While I am the opposite. I think short hair made my face look like a banana in a bobcut so I just keep growing it out much. 😂 It doesn't matter what style would 'fit you the most'. Find a style that you like and go with that. I like long hair, it feels cosy and warm. (Especially here in Sweden where it's cold often.) One day I may reach my threshold and cut it off, but, not today!
Rachel forever questioning if people are going to like a video or find it entertaining. I keep waiting for the day she realizes she could literally blow raspberries into the camera for 10 minutes straight and people would probably still find her delightful. She's such a fun and warm person all on her own without doing anything that's necessarily special. I have fun watching her whether she's doing a big project or something simple!
I’ve always had long hair and felt like it was what defined me but in 2008 was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost it all to chemo. I’ll tell you what, being bald makes you realize that hair is just hair, it grows, it doesn’t who cares! Now whenever I go to get my hair done I tell them “do whatever you think would look good on me” they are always like “are you sure??” Hell yeah! I’ve been bald, I can try anything now! It’s a very freeing feeling. BTW you look adorbs!
As a transman who is slowly balding (just receding a good bit for now), and who got a deathhawk pre-transition after being strictly defined by my hair and "feminine looks" for most of my life, this is both very relatable and brazenly strong. I'm torn between just shaving my head fully bald, or letting myself experiment with long hair as a man. Either one is fine with me. Bald people are rad as hell though! 🤟🏻
@@its_the_bird loved your story, thank you for sharing. Whatever makes you feel good, especially after going through stressful times in your lives, you should embrace! Bald is beautiful! (But I also love long hair on men!) Best wishes to you
Thats amazing you have 1) hopefully? overcome cancer and that losing your hair was something you coped with. However, for some its a deeply trauatising issue, and having my long blonde hair cut off brutallly as a child has left me with a llife long phobia of cutting it - to the extent that when i have had it cut a little shorter for what i asked, and it was shoullder length (only 3 times in my life) I never recovered form the experience. SO for everyone its different and even for many cancer patients, its one of the most traumatising things. We treat people with horrid chemo-regimes, that many of our patients dont emotionally recover well if their hair doesnt grow back. Some comes back thicker than before. Others lost for good. I truelly hope youre able to stay well
I am sorry to hear about the cancer, stay strong 🍀 I once shaved my head and being bald was one of the best feelings ever especially when i took a shower and layed down.

Please don’t EVER feel the need to apologize for the content you’ve created. Hair related videos twice in a month? Do we notice? NO! We just enjoy following along with your fun! Your hair turned out great! Better than great! SUPER GREAT! ❤😂❤
As a fellow short-haired gal and longtime lurker, had to crawl from the shadows to say: YAAAAAS QUEEEEEEN!!!! Looks so cute and glad you’re enjoying saving on conditioner hehe
Rachel's excited face when she brushed out the curls made my heart feel so full. I chopped off all my hair to an even shorter length a couple months ago so the emotions were very relatable haha
I had really long hair for years(ginger, curly) and everyone, family, strangers, always said; "NEVER cut your hair it's so beautiful." but when I did cut it all off I felt more like myself than I ever had. For women and people percieved to be women, other people seem to feel a sense of ownership over Your Hair, especially if you've kept it long for a while. I found that cutting my hair short was so freeing and made me so happy & I'm glad you get to experience the same thing! It really suits you!
Same! I have curly hair and it has always been this odd burden to keep it long. Three years ago I chopped it really short and now keep it shoulder length when wet and it curls up a couple of inches when dry. I have a right side shave now and pull the rest over to the left because I refuse to get old. Long hair is overrated and overwhelming. I save so much money on product!
I go out of my way to ignore my hair. Sometimes it is long and kept in a braid. Sometimes it is short and in pigtails. One time it was VERY short and teal. (supporting a friend who went through chemo). I say once you are an adult: if it is your head, it is your say. (before then, likely someone is helping you take care of it.)😏 I only let my long hair down as a favor for someone in my life that asks me nicely to do so. Long hair is pretty, but it is also a lot of work!
My daughter both loves her hair short and misses the length. For me, when I chopped mine, I hated it. So many people said, "don't you just love it short." No, I don't, but I totally respect that you love yours short. I very much think that everyone needs to find the length(s) they like and it's nobody else's business. Sure I may like someone's hair but I have no say in whether they keep it or not. It's your hair, it should make you feel like you
Omg. I have naturally curly red hair and so many people tell me “never dye your hair” and “people pay a lot of money for hair like yours” and I never know how to respond
watching the moment where you transform from nervous styling experiment to realizing that it's cute as heck is very pure and extremely relatable. thanks for the serotonin!!
I cried a happy tear for her when she brushed it out and her entire demeanor changed. I had about a foot and a half of hair that I was slowly realizing I hated over the course of about a year and a half. Two months ago I shaved it off almost down to the scalp. Now I'm doing what Morgan Donner did and am letting it grow for a year before I decide on a final end product. I've been taking pictures every two weeks and doing a video once a month while I talk about how it's going. That haircut was also life-changing. I did have one regret. "Why didn't I do this a year and a half ago!"
Honestly the feeling of lightness when you cut your hair short can’t be beat. And you gotta remember, no matter this short it is now: it’s gonna grow back. ❤ you look lovely
who else is super excited that this'll make wearing wigs easier for Rachel? she's a master of transformation, and this new 'do really highlights her face beautifully! I had a feeling when she dyed it that she might be cutting it a little bit down the road, but never this short, and I hope she's *loving* it!!
People joke that cutting and dyeing one's hair is a sure sign of mental breakdown (and it certainly can be) but I absolutely adore seeing people reclaim their joy by doing the same. I recently went black on impulse after half a decade of having a neon undercut and I'm growing my hair out a little to get some more curl to it, so I'm celebrating your gorgeous new look with you, jubilant and renewed.
Mental breakdown certainly isn't the first thought people should have. Hell the first time I got my hair significantly cut and dyed some of my "friends" freaked out and were really mean about it, saying they hated it and accused me of trying to be something other than myself solely because of the hair, and ostracized me from the social group for a while. The next time I saw my grandma she also dramatically said it was horrible and asked why I ruined my hair. It didn't actually look bad and wasn't even a controversial style, just a black neck length bob whereas my hair had been dark brown shoulder length before. I had always been a somber artsy person, so it was quite a logical exploration of my persona as a teen. Rather than being a sign of a prior mental breakdown, if anything the reaction from people close to me caused a minor breakdown afterward. That's when I learned people are awful, the world doesn't make sense, and you can't even trust the people you thought were family and friends to treat you with respect.
@@autumnatic That must have felt awful! :/ When I was a teenager, I wanted to dye my hair purple/blue. Basically my whole family expressed that they would find it horrible if I did that to my hair, so I never did...
@@autumnatic that's awful, when i shaved my head and donated the hair (twice haha) everyone was shocked?? even tho i'd talked about it many times and i loved having a buzzcut and felt myself with it, my family freaked out haha. Fuck that tho i can do whatever i want with my hair, plus i was donating it for wigs and i don't understand their shock.

As a person who had short hair cuts both forced upon her and not, having hair autonomy is everything. While I am happily in my mid-40s and loving my long locks, seeing others chop theirs off gives me such joy because it’s all in the choice. Grats on your new ‘do! 😊
I love it when people with long her just decide to chop it off. I like experimenting with mine a lot and each new haircut makes me feel excited so I like to see that emotion in others

As someone who just did a major hair change I 100% relate to the energy of this video and also, Rachel, beloved, when will you learn that the real ones will watch you do literally anything just because it's /you/?? We love you and we feel like sticking around 😘💖
Now your hair is as bouncy as your personality. The length and curl volume could fit the 1930s-50s really. "Born To Dance" (1936) with Eleanor Powell and Una Merkel, all the women in that film had great hairstyles for that length. As it grows longer you could do peak 1940s styles w shoulder length curls. It's gonna be cute, Rachel! So excited for you!
This is SO funny to me haha... For years my family has made fun of me for consciously/subconsciously copying your hairstyles. I went red after I started following you. I coincidentally went brown when you went brown. But a month or so ago I decided I just wanted to go back to my natural hair so I had it cut and dyed into a black bob with bangs and now you could be my sister LOL. I did it first this time! I swear!
Rachel: "Sorry for doing a hair video again" "Sorry this isn't very autumnal" "Sorry- " Me: I WILL LITERALLY WATCH EVERYTHING YOU PUT OUT ALLOW YOURSELF TO JUST DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY
Absolutely true!! The reason I subscribed is because I just love her and she loves pretty much all things I love!! Rachel, I love you and how real, honest, funny, silly, creative, and so much more you are!! You are amazing and so inspiring that even though I don't care all that much about clothes, I watch because you lift my spirits no matter what you do. Thank you for being you and making this world a better place!!
I'm 58. Had long hair since 3rd grade. Just recently did the same thing...had it chopped off to about the length you did. No regrets. Seeing the smiles on your face after the cut was fabulous. Also, your mama is a sweetie.
I love how it doesn't matter if a haircut looks good or bad, everytime we cut our hair short Lord Farquaad will always come to mind. Also, love how your mom looked like she was having the time of her life 😂

I love it!! It looks so cute! I feel like you could style it so many ways, from 1920's styles, to 40's and 50's like a brunette Grace Kelly , or tease it up and do a 60's look! Also, your mom's so cute! I vote you have her in more videos!
As someone who has periodically chopped off her hair/grown it from a pixie cut to full length, I totally get the nervousness, anticipation and resulting delight that Rachel went through in this vide, and I loved her reaction 🧡 If anyone else is considering a similar cut, check out donating your hair to a charity that makes wigs for cancer patients/people suffering from alopecia, it gives me an extra warm feeling when I know my haircut is benefitting someone else 🥰
A lot of times those charities will not take hair that has been processed whatsoever. Just a heads up for anyone that is thinking of donating that has dyed, permed, or otherwise chemically processed - make sure to ask if they will still be able to use your hair before sending it to them.
I grow mine out just to cut it seems like sometimes. Doesn't bother me so much, it's hair and it grows back. I've given mine to Locks of Love several times. They make wigs for children. Years ago when my hair was lighter, before having children, they especially loved getting mine. Not so much now that it's gotten darker and has gray lol
Okay but the part about “equating long hair with femininity” really hits me. It’s why I’ve been hesitating on cutting my own hair for so long. This is really motivating me to finally cut my hair how I want! 💚
The perks of hair is that is grow back! It might take a super long time, but hair is the perfect canvas to experiment with because there's a natural reset when it grows
I think everyone who has had super long hair for a while can relate - but if you think about it, some of the girliest, most traditionally feminine figures in our collective consciousness have short hair! Marilyn, Audrey, and even the blueprint for all subsequent princesses in media, miss Snow White herself (the sweetest, most delicate out of all the disney princesses) has super short hair. Go for it!
"two hair videos in a month" {begins to apologise} RACHEL I LIVE FOR YOUR HAIR CONTENT IT'S ALWAYS A DELIGHT Edit: I saw a comment that you looked like Snow White and you ABSOLUTELY DO!
I have a super short pixie cut and have definitely struggled with the feelings of not being "feminine enough," and can say that going "phooey" and doing what makes you happy is the best feeling! There's no right or wrong way to be feminine, and you look adorable with the new length! I'm looking forward to seeing what styles you play around with!
I had very short hair and am now growing it out. I love the flowing fem style but just never felt like my hair matched my clothes. Is it the brainwashing all these years?🤔 all I can say is I’m not going to grow it super long since I live in a desert town.
I'm growing it out into a 90's grown-out pixie (main inspo is Winona Ryder in How to Make an American Quilt) and I found I have a middle ground between totally short and too long. That said middle where I feel the best is from grown-out pixie to middle of neck length which is still very short for most people but once it gets longer, I just don't know what do to with it besided a half-up and ponytail. Plus I'm an air-dry person and it's thick, so it takes AGES to dry when long, when I re-cut it into short pixie, the first thing I did was marvel at how quickly it dried.
I'm on the extreme opposite journey. I've been growing it out for a good 7-8 years now. I seem to be maxed out on my natural length with it touching my waist, but nothing makes me happier than having my hair down and feeling it wrap around the backs of my arms and elbows like a goddamn mermaid. I used to yo-yo lengths constantly, but I have ZERO URGES to cut it ever again. Glad you found the thing to spark your own hair joy again!
@@thenightingale3347 I used to have long hair too (almost waist length sometimes, and sometimes a bit shorter) and it was overheating my back when left loose 🤣 like a woolen blanket. I had to braid it and it was heavy af, I had literal headaches because of the weight pulling my scalp. I concluded that it was not worth it and now tend to have shoulder length haircuts.💇🏻♀️
I have super long hair (mid-thigh), and while it can be a hassle when it gets caught on things or takes me 20 minutes to wash I don't think I could ever cut it and lose the way it makes me feel when it's all flowing down my back. It's just so nice!
Feeling you on the zero urges to cut. My hair is about midtigh, and although I never wear it loose (I love me some braids, and I can't stand the feeling of hair touching my ears), I love it so much. Just the feel of my braid flowing down my back? Love it.
Pausing the video after 2 minutes to comment - these are pretty much the exact thoughts I had clinging on to my tailbone-length hair that I had been growing for six+ years. It was giving me headaches, I could only ever wear it in a braid or a bun with a hairstick (no elastics or it would pull my scalp). I thought I valued having the long hair but I slowly came to realize that what I valued was people's response to seeing how long my hair was and having something about me that was impressive that wasn't just my fatness. It was an expression of the hyper-femininity that I was expected to perform as a fat AFAB person and I was clinging to it. And then one day I decided to chop off more than a foot of length and shave the sides off into a mohawk (and then later shave the back off to just a topknot) and I've never been happier with my hair.
I love seeing you be joyful, even if it's for something others would call 'small.' Seeing you genuinely happy and excited for a project premise makes watching so much more fulfilling!
I say this IS an autum video cause honestly fall is like prime time for hair cuts! I chopped off my own and most people I talk to get that urge to cut theirs! Showers are so much nicer and dont aggitate me via wet hair against my back, and it dries so much quicker!! hooray and welcome to the short hair club, you look great!!!
Waiting for long hair to dry in cold weather feels like Russian Roulette. You have to put it up if damp and deal with whatever shape it dries into or risk a headcold.
This video makes me so unbelievably happy!!! 😭 I had hair as long as yours in my teens and it was my safety blanket for YEARS. Eventually I wanted to cut it but no matter how many times I asked my mum (my mum is a hairdresser) she would never let me. When I was 19 I had it all cut off, literally shaved back and sides and it felt amazing! I grew it out after that and ever since my hair has been a shaggy shoulder length mop. And you know what my mum says? That I look so much more like myself with short hair, she even tells me when it looks like it needs a trim because it's getting too long 😂 every so often I'll think about growing it long again, but once it gets past my shoulders I get physically repulsed by it and chop it again 😂 short hair looks cute, feminine and is insanely easy to take care of, what more could you want 😭
Girl, a few weeks ago I chopped my extremely thick past my shoulders hair all the way down to a pixie. And I am never going back. I could not stop smiling in the salon chair when the lady cut it. It was absolutely the best decision I've ever made with my hair. So basically I get it. I completely understand the feelings of dealing with such then chopping it all off. I'm so glad it turned out how you wanted it to.
"mentally I'm overwhelmed and making impulsive decisions" girl, same. (coming from me, with short hair) absolutely love the new look! (also coming from me, with short hair)

You look so CUTE with this haircut! It gives me major Disney Snowhite vibes. And the part where your mom chpped your hair gave me flashbacks of the time my best friend chopped my hair from the same length as yours to a buzzcut. I had regrets, though, and I am still trying to figure out the mess my hair is two years after

ALSO, I have been struggling for the past several weeks to not chop off all of my hair (I'm waiting til Halloween because I'm prepping for Ariel's on the town look) and this is totally NOT HELPING 😂😍💜
I had literal flashbacks to March 2020 where I cut off 30 cm of my hair out of impulsive decision making. I'm happy to see how content you are. 😊
As much as I am absolutely in love with Rachael’s red hair, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the black! I’m glad we get to hold onto it a little longer. 🎉
I loved that Rachel was so happy. So nice to see. I hope she feels better about just letting a video be whatever she wants so she doesn't have to feel like she's let anyone down, didn't fit a "requirement" to have seasonal or mainstream anything, and works to please the unpleasables. The pressure must be alot to aim towards critiques but I'm here to see a creative person create. Big or small project without any expectations. Just spending a little time with a nice regular show. It's nice.
As someone who chopped a bunch of their hair off and isn't planning to go back to long hair any time soon, make sure you got scarves to keep the back of your neck warm! That's like my biggest problem right now as everything gets cold. Also you look cute as heck!!!
your mom seems like the sweetest hairdresser ever omfg (and the short curled black hair is sooo cute it reminds me almost of a 20s-30s styled snow white )
i thought it was interesting when she said that her long hair was attached to being “feminine”, with the cut (which i LOVE) i feel like it’s more feminine. It looks super cute and i’m excited to see all of the Parisian lewks
Ever since you did your "Dressing like each decade" video, I thought short black hair looked so DANG CUTE on you!!!! And thank you for inspiring me to follow whatever makes me happy, as chaotic as it might seem to the outside world 😂
As someone who buzzed off all her elbow-long hair on a whim and to prove myself a point (you are not your hair, you can't put all your confidence in it and wouldn't it be REALLY COOL TO HAVE SHORT HAIR?? also, it grows back, just in case) I wholeheartedly support you!!✨ I also actually wore more dresses and skirts after I cut my hair short, because with long hair I personally kind of felt like a tradwife, and it wasn't me.

As a fellow who also chopped off a lifetime of hair for a bob and 2 years later chopped the bob for a pixie cut, it's incredibly scary BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD Loved this video! You look super cute with the bob! ♥
Maybe this is kinda silly, but I was tearing up thinking about how intrinsically I associate red hair with you and sort of mourning the end of your long-haired ginger era, and then that shifted into crying because your new hair is SO FRICKING CUTE. Everything you make is thoroughly entertaining & very very wholesome, thank you for making this corner of the internet so comforting and full of joy. 🧡🎃🖤
I’m so excited for you! Shedding yourself of what a hairdresser described as “Rapunzel Syndrome” is a challenge the first time but it’s truly freeing and you are right, it is life changing. (*edit* it was pointed out in the comments that this term is used for an actual condition caused by trichophagia, the ingestion of hair. I decided to correct this rather than delete it so that others could be made aware of this condition as well. No disrespect is intended to those that suffer from this condition and I apologize for my misuse of the term.) I first freed myself of that chain with waist length hair at age 22, I’m now 48 and have worn it long again then short again for years and the fear of cutting is gone. Live your best life, girl! Looks fantastic!❤️
@@OmfgHiii thanks for pointing that out, it was the term used by the hairdresser that did that first long hair cutting for me back in the 90s. I will edit my original post to highlight this, it’s important that we acknowledge it. Thanks so much❤️
Could you explain “rapunzel syndrome” a bit more? My hair is down to my thighs now and, since I have anxiety, I’ve been stressing out more about losing it/cutting it
@@randomartist6047 if you will notice my edit above, it seems I have misused the term and it is an actual condition. All the same, I get what you mean. I was using the term, erroneously, to describe the feeling of attachment to having long hair as a sense of identity and an assertion of femininity...a kind of security blanket. Only you know if this is something that you are ready or willing to move past. Remember that you are a whole, valid person, long hair or not. Your power is yours to wield, do it because it’s what YOU want. For me, it was an attachment that I felt limited me and taking that first haircut was defeating that perceived limitation.
When Rachel was talking about freeing herself from every annoyance of long hair I felt it IN MY SOUL. I chopped it off last year into a SHORT wolf cut and I loved it. I'm trying to find a time to cut it like that again! I may never go back to long XD
After having long hair for years, I finally went short and was feeling super insecure about how it looked. But seeing you enjoy your short hair so much made me feel just a bit better :)
At 06:50 you look like a mix between a 1930s Hollywood actress and Snow White. In other words, you are gorgeous and I'm so happy you liked your new hair! Your mom seems so sweet and funny too! That being said, I admire you a lot for deciding to cut your hair like this. Having been forced to wear my hair in a short bob from age 5 to 14, every inch I could save from the hairdresser was such a victory that even now, at the old age of 24, I am still refusing to cut it even the slightest tiniest bit. I even started to trim it myself because each time I would them cut by someone else would just made me cry. So, yeah, congrats and happy Autumn!

I was thinking Snow White too
Id also love a vintage Amélie look
I scrolled specifically to see if someone had already made this comment. XP
The moment you realised it was super cute when you did the brush out and had such a big smile was honestly magical.
Literally brought tears to my eyes! 🥹
I rewound to watch it again! Incredibly good moment
The face when she saw how the curls brushed out made me SO HAPPY. It’s weirdly specific but one of my favorite moments ever is when people are happily surprised by how a new haircut looks. This was exactly the warm and fuzzy I needed this weekend, thank you for sharing this with us Rachel!
the confidence rushing onto your face as you combed out the curls was SO CUTE. I love the new look, and your Mother is just PRECIOUS.
"Mimi's haircuts: comes with a smooch" --> Most wholesome and cutest thing on the internet!
Me, wondering where Rachel gets her drama from:
Me seeing her interact with her mother for two minutes: oh I get it
As everyone else has stated: WE WILL TAKE ANY VIDEO YOU PUT OUT BECAUSE WE ARE HERE FOR YOU NOT JUST THE CONTENT 💖💖💖💖
there’s something so satisfying about watching rachel make a big change with her hair and then have the video end with “i love it! don’t regret it at all” 💖💖 it looks so good and im so happy she’s happy
I said "what if I WANT my face to look round?" And she went , "what if you want dates?"
Then I made her cut my hair to the length I wanted and she came around when she saw how much I loved it.
This hairdresser sounds really progressive, congratulations on finding them!
Oh lucky, keep that hairstylist.
I tend to avoid going at hairstylist for remark on how it's a lost to cut my long hair. -- long because nobody want to cut them at the lentgh I want and they grow ****ing fast.-- You have fond a pearl!
Same thing happened to me two days ago.. I feel so rotten... I want to just shave off this lob she gave me 😓
My hairstylist that I've had since I was a child always wanted me to cut my hair short as 'My long face makes long hair make it even longer, shorter would flatter you more'.
Well...she did have a video of the inside of a dark barn...and I watched it. 😂😂
she is delightful! she could rake leaves and i'd probably watch it
That would be flipping adorable and also family fun bc my son would find it hilarious!
Can we have two videos please: 1) Rachel tries on all her hats 2) Rachel does mom up in a 1940s vibe. love your channel so much. xo

Rachel's excited face when she brushed out the curls made my heart feel so full. I chopped off all my hair to an even shorter length a couple months ago so the emotions were very relatable haha
WHEN YOU BRUSHED YOUR HAIR OUT WITH THE CURLS I LITERALLY GASPED AND SAID, "SHE LOOKS LIKE SNOW WHITE!!"
It's so pretty, I love this new look on you!!
Same! Me too-so adorable! ❤🤍
Omg yes, I was wondering who she reminded me of !
same ❤❤❤
Me too! I literally gasped 😂
Same!! Fully snow white! So cute ✨
This!!! And especially when you have natural red hair. YOU MAY NEVER TOUCH IT.
I go out of my way to ignore my hair. Sometimes it is long and kept in a braid. Sometimes it is short and in pigtails. One time it was VERY short and teal. (supporting a friend who went through chemo). I say once you are an adult: if it is your head, it is your say. (before then, likely someone is helping you take care of it.)😏
I only let my long hair down as a favor for someone in my life that asks me nicely to do so.
Or buy a wig and wear short for one day
who else is super excited that this'll make wearing wigs easier for Rachel? she's a master of transformation, and this new 'do really highlights her face beautifully! I had a feeling when she dyed it that she might be cutting it a little bit down the road, but never this short, and I hope she's *loving* it!!

She wouldn't be mama Maksy.
Maksy is Rachel & Nick's last name.
Let’s be real.
It’s 100% a mental breakdown.
this makes me wanna dye my hair again ahh and i might
Mental breakdown certainly isn't the first thought people should have.

The absolute glee on Rachel’s face when she brushed out her curls was just so contagious 😊
There is nothing like witnessing someone completely feeling themself.

The new hair suits you so well! We definitely need a Snow White cosplay and some silent film era vibe costumery! You are absolutely adorable 🥹
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING! maybe a "make it vintage" episode???
Definitely Snow White and Joan of Arc…OR a mash up of Snow+Joan.
A Snow White inspired But Make It Vintage set in the era the film was made. That would be kind of awesome.
As someone who just did a major hair change I 100% relate to the energy of this video and also, Rachel, beloved, when will you learn that the real ones will watch you do literally anything just because it's /you/?? We love you and we feel like sticking around 😘💖
Absolutely in love with this era of Rachel doing whatever makes her ✨happy✨
Now your hair is as bouncy as your personality. The length and curl volume could fit the 1930s-50s really. "Born To Dance" (1936) with Eleanor Powell and Una Merkel, all the women in that film had great hairstyles for that length. As it grows longer you could do peak 1940s styles w shoulder length curls. It's gonna be cute, Rachel! So excited for you!
Una Merkel was adorable
The legit unbridled joy on Rachel's face as she's brushing out the curls ❤️❤️❤️
The way your mom just went for the ponytails was everything!! It looks so cute! Glad you are living your best life!

I swear!

My mother absolutely loves chopping off hair and never discouraged me from just doing whatever to mine. Rachel's mom seems to be very similar.
So true!! That’s a great way of thinking about it 🤔
@@mad_01134 cut it!! you will probably love it, and if not, you'll at least get to try some new things while it grows back out.
Oh my gosh. I cut my hair into a pixie in nursing school. Second best decision I ever made. Do it! 🫶
Go for it!
Your mom’s commentary just sheds so much light on why you are the way you are. We love to see it ❤

Edit: I saw a comment that you looked like Snow White and you ABSOLUTELY DO!
I absolutely agree!
The most feminine I've ever felt/looked was when I shaved my head.
SAME I have a pixie cut and sometimes I feel like that too and honestly PHOOEY
You can be absolutely androgynous and still be a women. How you dress doesnt define who you are!
Oh man that feeling! I had waist length hair too and that's what I miss most, how it feels like you're hugging yourself sometimes 😊
I’m the exact same, but mine just keeps growing hahaha it’s down past my bum now and still going 😂 I love it so much and never want to cut it!
Your sheer joy as you brushed out the curls was palpable! May you have so much joy with your new style! Kudos to you for taking the plunge.
I know! The way her face lit up when she realised how good she looked was amazing
I cut 8-10 inches off just a couple weeks ago, so I completely agree😂

I'm so glad it turned out how you wanted it to.

you managed to go from Ariel to Evie to Snow White 😍😍😍😍😍
I did love your long hair but this is SSSOOOOO DARN CUTE ON YOU OMG!!
ALSO, I have been struggling for the past several weeks to not chop off all of my hair (I'm waiting til Halloween because I'm prepping for Ariel's on the town look) and this is totally NOT HELPING 😂😍💜
I love how momma asks if you are ready and as soon as you say yes she went for it without hesitation. 😂
I had literal flashbacks to March 2020 where I cut off 30 cm of my hair out of impulsive decision making. I regret it to this day cause I've always wanted long hair and the moment it reached a fantastic length I undid the entire growing process. The short hair suits you really well!
It's nice.
She wasn't happy
As someone who chopped a bunch of their hair off and isn't planning to go back to long hair any time soon, make sure you got scarves to keep the back of your neck warm! That's like my biggest problem right now as everything gets cold. Also you look cute as heck!!!
i second this! but as soon as the hair grows enough to be on your neck again, youre gonna want to cut it off 😂
The most perfect snow white. So cute!
your mom seems like the sweetest hairdresser ever omfg (and the short curled black hair is sooo cute it reminds me almost of a 20s-30s styled snow white )
Snow White (the Disney version with the short hair) was 1930's!
i thought it was interesting when she said that her long hair was attached to being “feminine”, with the cut (which i LOVE) i feel like it’s more feminine. It looks super cute and i’m excited to see all of the Parisian lewks
Ever since you did your "Dressing like each decade" video, I thought short black hair looked so DANG CUTE on you!!!! And thank you for inspiring me to follow whatever makes me happy, as chaotic as it might seem to the outside world 😂
This is so dang cute! Mama Maksy was so excited, reminds me of my mum. And watching Rachel start to feel her new look, much heartwarming 🥰
As someone who buzzed off all her elbow-long hair on a whim and to prove myself a point (you are not your hair, you can't put all your confidence in it and wouldn't it be REALLY COOL TO HAVE SHORT HAIR?? also, it grows back, just in case) I wholeheartedly support you!!✨
I also actually wore more dresses and skirts after I cut my hair short, because with long hair I personally kind of felt like a tradwife, and it wasn't me.

Am I fangirling right now?! My mum just chopped my very damaged hair off too and now I have almost the same haircut as yours. I absolutely love it on you! Keep being a goblin-y inspiration to all of us!
By the way - it gives major Amèlie energy. You should definitely recreate some of her looks in a video!
Just came to say the exact thing!
The longer hair gave you a feminine and elegant vibe, the short hair give you and adorable and fun playful. I loved them both.
As a fellow who also chopped off a lifetime of hair for a bob and 2 years later chopped the bob for a pixie cut, it's incredibly scary BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD
Loved this video!
I wish I had that issue 😂😂 my hair never grows past my shoulders so y'all are lucky tbh!
theres a real stomach condition with that name and oh may
@@OmfgHiii thanks for pointing that out, it was the term used by the hairdresser that did that first long hair cutting for me back in the 90s.
I can't describe it but this haircut looks like you always had it. It suits you so well!
I FEEL YOU, i was afraid for like 2 years and the amount of complements i've got after i've cut and dyed my hair is insane
This absolutely feels like the "you" that you're meant to be right now and I'm living for it and vicariously through it.
