I think this man represents a person who spent his life with desillusion making his untarnished soul gets blackened
Hmm, i got the feeling that this is about a man suffering from Alzheimers syndrome and slowly losing his memory and cognitive abillities and becoming increasingly depressed, especially that empty stare you see in the video is also seen in people with Alzheimers, also the line "nothing left but a long slow descent anymore" sounds like how Alzheimers takes hold and progresses very slowly until there is nothing left and you eventually die from it, also in the video when he's carrying the woman in the white dress at first very shortly you see that it's actually just a white dress he's carrying making me think that he thinks it's his wife and that is the only way he remembers her and he's hallucinating and that becomes the point of view we see it from as well, it's actually incredibly scary to think about and there are many, many people that suffers from this horrible disease, so props to Insomnium for shining a light on the horrors of this condition.
Hey John! If you really want to go to Koli national park and to see the most iconic view of landscape of Finland, just take a plane to Helsinki and I will drive you there! Maybe an Insomnium gig in Helsinki at 25th October first?

If we just look at death, it looks like everything ends in the grave, and there's no hope beyond.
But when we look at life around us, life always starts to use the dead for something new, that's living. Even our lives are not meant to end when we die. It's just moving to the next level: next stage of life. In this lifetime our one job, I mean the biggest job, is to choose whether we follow the path of life or path of death. If we follow the living path, the death is not really an end.
That's how God put it: This day I put in front of you the path of life, and the path of death. So choose life.
Just like pollen spreads to the air: only a few of them fertilize plats, others die. But the ones that don't die, start a new life, the other pollen wouldn't understand, if they could think. It's so much more, so much bigger. So is Heaven going to be.
Or like a seed in the semen from father, fertilizes the eg cell inside mother: the others die. The one that made through will become something so much more then the paternal seeds.
Or when a child is inside her mother, he/she senses something beyond mther's belly, reacts to touch or talk from the other side- but doesn't really fully get it: no even close. But will one day be born to that new world - like we peple are supposed to go to Heaven. But some are stillborn. When the child goes through the birth channel (a lot like the worm tunnel people with near death experiences see), he arrives to a new world, new level of existence. The eyes open to see much more than before, ears begin to hear more. Later we learn to move a way we didn't know was possible.
There so much more to take in, to learn to do in the new level of existence - much more than before. Likewise we change when we go to Heaven. So much more to see and hear. We learn to move new way: like the angels. And we don't need to breath oxygen anymore - we do fine without. Just like a newborn empties his/her lungs when being born - that's the reson of the first cry: pushes the water out of the baby's lungs. No more water, learn t use air. In Heaven we don't need even that air anymore.
Welcome, says Jesus: you're invited to the next story of life. Hope you don't want to be one of those who don't producelife, but are just wasted like excess pollen, or the egg cells & semen that never produce a child. Hope you will become a new creation in God's Heaven. The invitation is still on.

@@rubberyfaceimbred There's the trick: not necessarily. If we don't want to live according to the bright side of life, wanting the good and opposing evil, then God won't force us: we will unfortunately finally get rid of his company permanently.
And that's hell. A living being disconnected from life, and eternity time to think of his/her wrng choices, the bad we caused to other peole. If we don't regret that in this life, and ask for pardon from God. Which has already given, that's what Jesus accomplished.
The same is seen i the nature in many metafors: only a few of the pollen prduce new life. Only some of the seedof father, or mothernal cells, will produce life. Without pregnancy, the mothernal cell will just bleed to death. But if the pregnancy starts, the cell is something competely different than before.
When we are born through the birth channel to this world, we change quite dramatically: our lungs empty of water, our eyes open, we learn to use our legs to move in a new way.
Likewise if we are born to Heaven, our lungs don't need to breathe air anymore, our eyes open to see the heavenlies - the angels and God etc. And we will move in a new way then, like angels.
But like there are stillborn babies, so does happen to those of us, who are not going to Heaven.

@@rubberyfaceimbred Nah, it's not my beliefs that ignited it, I was a career seeking individualist, at the most I thought what family and school had thought me. So believing in the power of my own head, which can be educated. Just that's a bit elitistic view - what about those who can't get a high school education, or university?
God is not elitist, he offers his love for all. I also experienced that as a student in the 90's. I had life crisis, was sick and I was afraid I was gonna die one night. Thoguht my liver was gonna explode from heavy drinking, the pain was around that area. It turned out to be celiac condition starting to express itself - itwas the bowels near liver, no the liver. But that was found 3 years later.
But that night I was so sick, I was afraid I would not see the morning. After friday night drinking was hung over for 2 days, and the pain stopped me from getting sleep when Sunday turned to Monday. Doctors might have examined me, and explined what to do, or how they could help - but they weren't there.
Be as it may, I prayed for the first time seriously maybe since prepuberty. To my amazement, I was answered, in my heart. I heard words the way you hear your own thoughts - just these wear from the Bible, or with such words amonst there - a person really spoke to me. Later it confirmed to me it was really the God of Bible, because I opened the book during next week, first time after high school, and this time from bymy own choice.
So it was meeting God first, then reading the scriptures. t can happen the other way around, just didn't happen to me. God knows what we think in our heart, praying is opening that heart into dialogue with him. And often stopping to think, wat I really think 'down there'. Surprisingly often our thoughts are not pure and innocent, as we want to tell ourselves :) The scale is tilting more to the other side.
Not that there should be anything on that evil side of the scale, the teeter-toter, for us to go to Heaven, the world of life. To get there we need cleansing from God, otherwise our hearts can't get clean. There's nothing any man (member of mankind) can brag in front of God - Christian or other. We are equal in that way too.
It's not about knowledge: aka what we can control - it's about relationship with life. So, it's path from trying to control life to learning to relax being controlled by life.
God is life itself, not some theory, or old dude freezing on a cloud edge, dangling his feet and plucking a harp or lyra.
We can cmmunicate with him, that's why there's the link called prayer. He does answer. And like in any communication, you can't really command what the other person is going to answer. God doesn't dance according to my beliefs - this world would look odd if he did :)
