This may be the highest quality field herping video I have ever seen anywhere. A new gold standard has been set. Really impressed with this Fred and Christian! I'll be studying this video for a while.
I can't properly express how awesome this was Fred. You and Christian have done great work here, truly putting herping into a positive spotlight and showing people how amazing this crazy passion can be. I will be passing this video on to anyone who asks what herping is, as you have both done a beautiful job. I can't wait for much more from both of you. Cheers guys. - Harrison and Evan
Thanks guys! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I think Christian and I are pretty happy with how it turned out! Really hope it get's used as an educational tool.
Ian hit me up with an email about this. I was out for a bit doing nothing but beach time. Just sat down to watch this, very well done. Super job on this, always hard to capsulize why we do this hobby. You nailed it! Nice job guys!
Respect of the animal is #1! Great video very professional! Most herping videos on yt are mainly just music over some pictures and dialogue, great videos, but this one really looks like it could be on TV!
Thanks man! Yeah, most of my videos are like that simply because it can be hard when you film and herp and talk and so on. So it was really great not having to worry about filming at all.
I have made the same experience. Most people are not really interested in wildlife or nature in general. They are not even aware of Common Adder in several bogs close to my home, although they are hiking or walking with their dogs almost every day and sometimes for decades. They are blind. And that is simply sad.
I’ve heard of the adder but have never seen it. Glad I found this channel. Will be a little bit more careful on my next hikes (I’m terrified of snakes but find the fascinating). Also glad you don’t go overboard with the handling and show the animals some respect.
i think the love of animals is what drives you to look. It does me. I see things every day that people pass by and don't even look. Man needs to get back to nature but sadly we won't.

Amazing video, Fred. Really makes me proud to be a herper.
Thank you very much Jordan! Always happy to get a compliment from a fellow herper!

Herping isn't a hobby, it's a life style!
