Oh weren't we just!!! Now Yusuf/Cat Stevens. I just hope he will come back to UK 2024 one more time and sing/perform for us here 🙏 I watch his concerts and interviews on Utube
The man's 74. And still brilliant. I grew up with Cat Stevens and he has such an amazing voice. My cats love him too! Even my partner who is more of a Black Sabbath fan says "to be honest Amy, the man can sing". Love him!
I like to think that people are able to recognize the qualities that makes music good, regardless of what kind of music it is. It's the only way I can explain listening to and loving music as different as Wintersun, The Staves, Cat Stevens, Steve Vai, Plini, Planet X, AC/DC, Eivor, Yes, John Farnham etc. It really does not matter what genre it is, as long as the music speaks to you...
I had no idea, fifty years ago when I was at a Cat Stevens concert, that I would be listening to a Yusuf concert on RUclips today. What I wouldn’t give to see him live again! I wish you would perform in the US, Yusuf. Thank you for entertaining me as my number one singer, song writer for over 50 years. Blessing to you and your family. ❤
I knew and appreciated Cat Stevens in the 70s as a singer and an artist in a class of his own at that time. He represented the ideal of love and peace of that Hippy era tormented by the Vietnam War, and now that he, like me, is coming to the end of his life, I think he has remained true to himself. A big thank you from France for enchanting us with your lovely voice, which has aged as well as your soul!❤
Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) is a perfect musician - a brilliant song writer and singer, plus a wonderful human being, too. May he live happily to be 100 and ten. Thanks for sharing video.
don't think I've cried like that for a while... It was an incredible experience... Feel so so lucky.... ( and it was just busy enough to be busy, not insane like later!)
A bit teary watching this. I've always loved Cat Stevens music, but 'Morning Has Broken' is a hymn that we sang at primary school in the 1960's - and suddenly I was back there. Then a large picture of George Harrison, another of my favourite musicians. Thank you for this recording.
Met Cat Stevens when l was a teenager, he's was a quiet unassuming man, but pleasant. I told him l loved his songs, and got his autograph. Yes a lovely man!!!.. ........
Thank you Lyn. Hugely emotional for me hearing Cat again after many decades. It took me straight back to growing up in the 60’s and 70’s, reminded me of the kid I was and the person I wanted to be. Happy for the character I kept, sad to the point of tears for the character I lost along the way. Tomorrow is another day, time to make it better. Thank you once again, R.
Thanks for this amazing recording Lyn, of an amazing artist. We are the same age, I grew up playing these great songs of Cat Stevens. Morning Has Broken was me & my wife's wedding song. And you are right in the crowd. I've never been to Glastonbury, you took me there with this. Nice edit, too. Well done.
Oh my day, Caring for a hubby with terminal cancer means I care for him and miss these wonderful events. Cat Stevens still absolutely wonderful and I play this all the time in the car. He was one of the best, is one of the best and always will be. Personal favourite lyrics you want him to live forever.....
He will still sing when he is a 110 he is amazing he is my hero. His music amazes my heart when I am so numb I can't feel a thing I'm weird and it's OK I am fine it's the world that needs to get right with me lol Sun sun sun 🌞 ☀️ 🌤 🌅
Always brilliant. I remember.the days when Cat absolutely dominated the airwaves. He taught us that it was okay to feel. And Peace Train - he spoke for many of us and still does. My Cat collection of vinyl has been replaced by CD and now by mp3. When I treat my children to the best, Cat Stevens is on top of the list.
This man ----- Yousef Islam / Cat Stevens ---- is inspiration for me. Love him for his music/song --- and his honest spirituality. SPIRITUALITY is TRANQUILLITY. GOD BLESS.

It’s always emotional to listen to your childhood idols sing after 50 odd years
We’re lucky that grew up in the 60’s, 70’s with those wonderful artists like Cat Stevens and many others. The golden era of music, period.
Absolutely. We grew up in the best of times ♥️
I was 18 in '71.

@@AlfOfAllTrades Steve Vai was in Whitesnake at some point. I love Whitesnake. In fact I might listen to them now.
@@FishpondsLady The "Slip of the tongue" album. Which is one of my favorites by the way :)
Love it that the young crowd sings harmony with him. This what love does for the world.
Ageless... Reminds me of the 70's... childhood. Born in the 60's this is my heart! Thank you for sharing.

We sang Morning has broken in german primary school in 2007, it‘s so nice to see how his music really is timeless and still played all over the world!
I was just 17yrs old.Fell in love with Cat immediately.Hearing him after all these yeRs,I was giddy!
God on you mate. You enriched our lives decades ago.
I practiced English by playing vinyl albums by Cat Stevens and then I would write down the words. Beautiful music. Wonderful words. A Great Cat.
So nice how he included "Here Comes the Sun" . Did it justice perfectly.

Teaser and the Firecat - a favourite album of so many!!
He still sounds amazing love it 👍
He brought so many people to the Christian faith when they listened to the Hymn "Morning Has Broken "written by Eleanor Farieon
Well, I'm guessing he regrets that now
Next to seeing Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park being able to watch this wonderful man perform on the BBC was one of the highlights of my year...
