I’ve had mine for a week now, I got into synths and modular about a year ago and I’ve bought a fair amount of (maybe a bit too much…) great gear but Strega is the most thrilling thing I’ve got, by miles! It’s absolute magic. Bravo guys

My gosh, this sounds amazing! I think its a high complement when its difficult to even categorize what a synth is. You just know it makes beautiful, pleasing, chaotic noises.

Sounds very very cool. Have one arriving tomorrow. Can't wait to incorporate into my system.

I've only had this a few weeks probably and I learn a bit, but feel like I know even less but then I go back and start understanding it a bit more. Somehow I missed that normaled patch in the lower right hand corner and now its obvious, with the polarity knob in between. Now I have something else to experiment with.

@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC I appreciate you posting patch ideas, it has been an absolute blast experimenting. I know for a fact the first patch I’ll be doing with the set up is that big krell patch you posted a bit ago, very cool sounds.
One day I’ll be able to get your shared system, for now my wife thinks semi modular isn’t a gateway drug lol

I'm surprised you didn't mention how the Absorb control interacts with Filter. With Absorb fully CW, there is a noticeable amount of resonance on the filter. It seems like a kind of 'hidden feature' as a lot of what is happening under the hood doesn't have dedicated direct control.

As always, thanks for this demo and valuable information Walker, it definitely helped me to wrap my head around this synth a little more. I am still trying to figure out how Absorb fits into this equation, and what exactly Absorb is doing to the Filter. Is it basically just another attenuverter for the strength of the filter? But then there's the actual Filter CV attenuverter. its a little confusing. Seems like as Absorb reaches full CW the sound just gets more white noise. What ia Absorb actually doing? any insight you can share on this?

Beyond what is written in the manual, I'm at the mercy of knowledge through experience just like everybody else. Tony and Alessandro created much of the filtering/feedback behavior by improvising on a breadboard until it sounded good, then we tested it thoroughly to make sure it worked well under all conditions. So nobody really has a full knowledge of it. As far as I can tell, Absorb is mostly outside of/after the feedback paths, whereas the Filters are both in and out of them. I have also noticed that you can overdrive Absorb by pushing it beyond the knob maximum using CV.

Yea it’s difficult for me to hear exactly what this is doing to the sound except for amplify white noise. The manual is equally cryptic. Would love to see a video with some of your experiences and experiments with it!
