I mean replacing superman is much harder than replacing Batman. Batman just needs an actor who not super tall. Jaw line and in shape. Everyone cried when pattinson was casted and now they love him.
Superman needs one in a generation look alike. I’m not saying nobody will replace cavil. It’s just it’s hard to find someone who physically looks like superman. Reeve and Cavil and generational

The idea of multiverses has really done a number on fancasts. I personally would rather see the character appear as they do in the source. When adapted characters don't act or look like their comic counterparts, it creates a disconnect between both the adaption and the source. Who knows? Maybe comics would sell better if the mainstream audiences could browse a comic and actually recognise what they saw in their favourite superhero films and shows.

I've not seen Corenswet in anything (and i'm glad about that, main reason i didn't want Nicholas Hoult was because he's been in too many big movies. He's far too well known for Superman. Woulda just been Hoult in tights. But Lois is another story, Brosnahan was marvellous in mrs maisel. Watch the first episode, you'll see Lois in parts of her performance. Plus it's just a damn good show.
I think your way off with the Authority appearing, I think the other heroes are the JSA and maybe a few lesser known leaguers like Martian Manhunter, Black Lightning etc. But they are 100% going to do a Superman v The Elite adaptation at some point
I don't think The Authority will be a huge part of the movie or anything but I definitely believe we'll see them at some point in the film. It's very clear James Gunn is building towards a 'What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and The America Way?' movie sometime down the line.
nah it's good sling in the lesser known back to back with the mainstream stuff is both bold and interesting. It goes hard and I want to see how the universe plays. DC can't go full a-list, Paramount already did that with the MCU in phase one, back then was a new fresh idea so a hard sell now that we're all jaded and bitter on cinematic universes and superheroes, can't do all lessers because then creates a who cares/I'll pass wave like what we're in now with Shazam, Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman.
I hope Parasite is the villain. I don’t mind if Lex Luthor is in the movie but he’s been the villain in 4 out of 6 Superman movies and 5 out of 7 if you count BVS
Yeah I'm hoping Lex is just a background figure operating in Metropolis, not the main villain. Someone like Parasite or Metallo would be perfect for this first movie.

I think the sort of reverse “What’s so funny” story kind of works given a lot of the more modern superhero movies have kind of have gone away from that Kansas farm boy sense of justice. It can be kind of seen as a return to form of the genre with this new Superman

Honestly I want something golden age not the silver age re design which everyone knows at least for the first film I always wanted modern take of the flesicher cartoon version maybe the not writing of the powers,villians i really hope the costume is flesicher suit tho just hope it’s inspired by that with the tone and setting of the time period

As a Superman fan, I actually am happy to hear this news, and I wish the actors playing Superman/Clark and Lois the best of luck. But I am actually surprised that they didn’t race and/or gender swap the characters. Lol. Because that seems to be the only idea that HollyWood can come up with right now, that they think counts as being creative. Lol.

I have a feeling that the authority is one of the antagonists although not the main one and maybe the real villain is like Brainiac or Toyman

Just hope that he plays as well of a good Clark Kent, as he does superman because that’s the small problem when it comes to secret identities for superheroes the actors don’t always get the other side, right.
Of course currently Robert Patterson plays a great Batman but we’ll have to see in the next film if he develops his Bruce Wayne persona. Even most of the Spider-Man films, kind of struggle with the dual identity.
And I don’t want Clark Kent to just be a good old clumsy, bubbling idiot .

It feels like a "fan casting" that actually came true! But I would be lying if I said I wasn't still a little bummed about Henry Cavill. Yeah I need to get over it and I will but still sucks!
Me too. I don't think we'll ever get a Superman that was as legitimately interested in the character as Henry Cavill was.

Got to swing differently Superman being ground zero for the supernatural was Zack Synder's plan until WB screwed everyone and forced that universe to just constantly go nevermind this this happened before Superman.

kinda looks like a Pepsi equivalent to Coke Henry Cavil. Well hopefully we can get somewhere with the DC Universe. Was super onboard with what Zack Snyder was doing. Heck id WB wasn't so indecisive his vision would have come and gone years ago instead we had spaghetti bowl of dead ends of wanting to reboot without rebooting every other movie.

I think he'd do good, he had such a presences in John Wick 4 especially the horse stable scene with Mr Nobody. I would be happy with Bill Skarsgård as Lex.
